  1. Cherry pick? Lol. It's WAR. How is that cherry picking? Btw, getting hurt is an issue with harper. 3 WAR isnt worth 350 million pal. Sorry.
  2. Jd Martinez has been a better hitter overall since his swing change - at worst they've been incredible similar. Jd was older, but that doesnt mean Bryce Harper is worth twice as much Sorry
  3. Dude. If you use bWAR he has multiple years below 2 WAR. If you use fWAR, he has 2 years at 3 and 1 at 1.6. How has he never been average? Theres more to baseball than wRC
  4. Well I use WAR more than OPS since JD Martinez is arguably a better hitter with no defensive skills and he got about 130 million. Citing one stat doesnt work for me. Harper had been an average overall player more years than hes been good - regardless of your ops opinion. If you're paying Harper 350 million to hit 250 with 30 Homer's you're badly overpaying. If he returns to the superstar he was one year then he's worth it. If hes last years Harper then hes not.
  5. The powerhouse teams being out means nothing if someone else pays the price. Harper would be an overpay at 350 and a bad signing.
  6. No. Absolutely not. I'd give him 310, that's my max. I think Manny is the better player and would have given him more. Sox valued machado at 250. Harper has had more mediocre seasons than good/great ones. I think he'll be fine but with his defense dwindling and an injury history youd be nuts to give him 350 for just his baseball skills imo.
  7. If the white Sox think Bryce Harper is worth 100 million dollars more than Manny machado they should eliminate the franchise.
  8. The White Sox are OUT on Brycr Harper. They are not even submitting a bid. They are high on their outfield depth and feel it's a risk not worth taking... and as sad as it is to say, I agree. Harper doesn't fit. Manny did.
  9. Where does this say entire drafts.
  10. You literally said #1's
  11. Lol they moved a very athletic and talented third baseman to left field... I hope he can play there. Semien was another actual success story - a nothing prospect who won AA POY. why do Sox fans name guys who actually developed after being nothing prospects at draft time?
  12. Didnt sign tatis and urias has proven nothing yet. The greatest Latin American mind in the game as caulfield says has literally no one to name.
  13. Yeah, Boras has worked wonders for moustakas. Boras loses sometimes. Bryce may be one of those times. I'd say Phillies go with about same as Machado.
  14. Cant start the bidding there if no one is going there. Boras is in trouble with Harper. Teams seemed to value manny higher and he barely got 300.
  15. Huh? You said they had not made a good first round pick since 1992. I corrected you.
  16. Man.. when will people accept that the white Sox arent in on Bryce Harper?
  17. I'm still waiting for someone to direct me to the huge stars aj preller has signed out of Latin America. I keep hearing about his greatness but I must have missed these outcomes.
  18. No, my stance is that navarez is 27 years old and hes not going to become a great framer. The Sox developed him into a serviceable mlb piece out of nowhere really... and you want to be critical of how they handled him? The Sox have, once again, plenty of issues in development but Omar navarez wasnt one of them. I am of the belief that baseball is a game you figure out or don't - for most people. If you're learning fundamentals at the professional level you have other problems. An organizations job is to provide you with information imo - that's where analytics and development come in for me. Processing that information and accepting it is 100% up to the player regardless of how hard the coaching staff and front office push.
  19. The white Sox think they can change you into a good framer. Fact is, some people can do things well and some cant. Training be damned.
  20. It's just proof this post is nonsense. Sox turned navarez from a non prospect to a starting catcher. People will hate just to hate. Collins has supposedly improved significantly too. White Sox need to spend more on their analytical department but this navarez obsession is odd.
  21. NotHahn has a source who is either lying or made up. If the White Sox were in on Harper (they're not) it would be obvious theyre telling everyone theyre out and keeping it close to the chest.. yet NotHahns source told him they are in - 100% going against the message the sox would be trying to send. So not only is it obvious they're out - they acquired 2 of mannys friends for God sakes and came up 50 million short - but I dont get why anyone would get their hopes up again. Philly will give Harper 280-300. The Sox wont. Unless you think they're so incompetent that they truly value Harper 30-50 million more over machado despite spending 13 million on his friends. The Sox are out on Harper. Boras wont accept less than 300 million. The Sox will not offer it.
  22. Yes. They have given up undoubtedly. They are 100% out on Harper. Which is why Boras is in trouble because there's no one left. San Diego? Come on. Washington is out. Giants? No way 10 for 300 but I guess I said that before.
