Adrian Houser traded to TB for former top prospect Curtis Mead
Adding Bailey Falter to the list. A BUNCH of guys like Houser have been traded.

Adrian Houser traded to TB for former top prospect Curtis Mead
JP Sears, Kolek, Zack Littell off the top of my head and I guess some think Mason Miller. Additionally, yes everyone is making moves. There have been many moves today. The White Sox are probably the #1/2 Candidate in baseball to be a seller. They should be selling anything they have for whatever they can get.

Mike Soroka was traded yesterday. When everyone is making moves and youre not, it's likely you misread the market and valued your guys incorrectly. Thats just my opinion of course. Hahn had a couple of those!

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
Of course, but I don't personally trust Getz to find equal value for these assets, so I'd rather keep the known pieces that are here and hope the rest fills in around it and maybe they spend some money and/or hit on some drafts for once. If Robert's value is really suppressed, I know I wouldn't personally move him because I find his true talent point to be higher. I also understand moving him given his performance so I wasn't going to be too critical of a return barring something that looked like a salary dump. I agree with another posts take that Robert needs lineup protection to excel -- it's something I've come to consider over the last 15 months. He's a mistake hitter who can be taken advantage of when he's worked around, but when you have to go after him he's much more successful. Either way, that catch and jump he got the other night in the right center gap was what makes him so good and fun regardless.

You think the league is colluding to not value Sox players and only send Getz s%*# offers? You can't always excuse a trade or non-trade with the idea that you didn't know the other offers out there. If that's the case, why even come comment here at all?

If I was watching, I'd be screaming as loudly not to trade him as I was about Crochet last year (who I was actually watching). This is entertainment after all, and getting rid of all the entertaining players makes it... well, less entertaining.

Yeah, I agree I wouldn't give Robert away for nothing. He has future value in this league, and he's not worthless to the White Sox. As I already noted, he's by far the most exciting player on their roster.

If the White Sox were giving Robert away for free, with the contract, he would have been traded months ago. The idea that he's not worth his contract throughout the league doesn't hold up for me. Teams are arguing as to what he's worth in addition to his contract --- maybe it's 6 million in surplus, maybe it's 4, maybe it's 8. It's less than the Sox want, but it's certainly not zero.

Something is better than nothing --- there are multiple players on this team that are literally worthless when it comes to the future success of this org, and them moving for a 1/1000 lotto ticket would be better than nothing.

One of my favorite White Sox picks of the last decade. Kid was hampered by being drafted and developed by the Sox but he still made it work.

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
IDK if they need him, but kid has a 1.47 FIP. He's had some bad luck, but he's been as dominant as it comes.

Given the relief prices out there, I'd be most disappointed to hear the Sox didn't entertain talks on Taylor (especially if they have him as a Pen arm, which it seems like to me they do).

I would much rather have Luis than Vientos, so consider me one of the happy gang if Luis is still here and not just given away. Although I would have enjoyed watching Luis get on a heater somewhere else and carry a team further than they deserved to go -- since I watch other teams play much more than the Sox these days.

Did I throw up reading posts? Uh, no. You all can feel however you want to feel. I wish I could just enjoy the game the same way I did when I was a kid, but I can't. I have different standards as an adult. The older I get, the more valuable my time becomes and the more expensive sports have become. I don't like investing time and energy into things that aren't investing into themselves. I watch for the players, and of course I'm happy to see Colson raking and Teel doing well! I root for every player that comes up because I am a pro-player fan. Problem is, the White Sox position player leader in WAR is Mike Tauchman, and then Sosa who most discredit and ridicule constantly (even the ones that are optimist). But calling people doom and gloom for citing facts is just obnoxious imo. When you're the second worst team in baseball coming off the worst season in MLB history, it shouldn't be surprising to anyone that there's more negative than positive stuff to talk about.

Red Sox "more interested in" Civale than Houser
Amazing how much of an overlap there is between the "Getz signed Veterans to trade them at the deadline" and the "it's not a failure if you don't trade the veterans" groups are.

Kwan >>>>> DeVries DeVries isn't a crazy as at all. Kwan has been a 4.5+ player consistently per 162. They would need to add something else to DeVries.

Because your being forced to read my posts? God it must be awful for you. I even used the wrong your like you did just to not hurt your feelings too much.

Definitely understand why you chose to ignore the rest of the post, since it was truly ironic that you were calling me out on being forced to read things while you jump thread to thread complaining about people not being excited enough.

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
I ranted about it? I put 2 sentences in one post about how I feel I'm going crazy reading the optimism about the second worst team in Major League baseball. Here's what I can tell you, I've never once quoted an opinion you had about someone else and told you that you weren't forced to read it. Meanwhile, I see you all over this site quoting people who aren't optimistic and "exposing" their negativity. Maybe look up the word irony too.

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
I said I was forced? You seem to have very strong opinions about people who don't agree with you when they post here yet you can't possibly understand someone having the same perspective but around a different opinion?

I really love this in theory, but it's hard to get on board when considering that the White Sox have destroyed Luis Robert and expecting them to fix him feels like a pipe dream. That said, I won't be mad if I get to continue watching Luis because while many have soured on him here, he's still the most exciting player on this team by a mile.

There are definitely enough FA this off-season to make this club competitive next year. Competitive meaning... I don't have to watch everyone here celebrate Chris Getz "turning the organization around" while the White Sox are fucking 40-69. I feel like I'm going crazy reading the optimism here lately. It truly proves Jerry's thought that if you set the bar in a certain place, you can trick fans. No reason this team can't sign 5 guys and turn this into a team trying to hover near 500 and maybe surprise someone. Every bad team has good stretches though.

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
All we have to go off of was the speculation throughout the 2nd half of last year and off-season and that speculation = much more valuable than he is today.

I hate Josh Naylor so much I can't cosign this. He is the definition of a guy we sign who comes here and has a 600 OPS, gains 95 pounds, and gets caught yanking it in a parking lot.

I guess there could be very limited interest, but insane to hold on to Tauchman. You've struck gold with him having a career year, and banking on him at 35 years old next year to start is just wild.
