  1. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ May 27, 2005 -> 01:31 PM) I don't think the injury itself is funny at all, I think it's funny that the cubs keep getting so f***ed over. There is absolutely NOTHING funny about this happening to anyone...Cubs or not :headshake I hope hes ok...Prior, although a jerk on the mound is truly a joy to watch pitch...
  2. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:08 AM) You do know it's fake right? Yup I'm well aware...I just found humor in it
  3. QUOTE(jasonxctf @ May 27, 2005 -> 07:51 AM) dare i say... a new hitting coach? shake things up a bit. while i know its not walkers fault, sometimes these things need to be done sooner rather than later. i thought walker had adjusted crede's swing for a higher performance? Crede's swing accelarates like a mack truck....so maybe he switched it to diesel?? Anyways...I hate blaming coaches for the players inability to hit. Were not striking out a whole lot but the amount of weak outs we have is inexcusible...I think the hitters need to take responsiblity and step up to the level of our pitching staff...Put up or shut up
  4. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 27, 2005 -> 07:44 AM) We need a 100% Frank Thomas in the middle of the line up to take the pressure off of some of these guys. What is with all this hitter angst in the city of chicago? I just dont get where all this 'pressure' is coming from? We have the #1 pitching staff in the major leagues and yet our professional hitters go up to the plate with tears welling up in their eyes.... Can we honestly expect Frank to carry the load when he comes back?
  5. Any takers?? Kyle Farnsworth-Match.com profile Wow I had no idea how messed up this guy really is... HOTSEXYHEAT how pathetic can you get??
  6. And we all know he ROCKS!!! He was pretty good, I enjoyed most of what he had to say. Mike Huff tonight...I have no idea what to expect out of that
  7. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 27, 2005 -> 06:08 AM) How about a set of 4-9 hitters? I like the fact you didnt put that in green :banghead Seriously we need a few guys to step up and hit instead of making every at bat as painful and excruciating as it is now!!
  8. As a gift to you Jim... My 1,000th Post... Happy Birthday!!!!
  9. Mods...can this thread be deleted? B/C this is pure garbage
  10. QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ May 26, 2005 -> 03:01 PM) why do we keep talking about sheyer, after eliminating conant from the playoffs i hate him, i hope he fails at duke miserably Thanks for your input...Now if you actually look at the thread we havent been talking about Scheyer :banghead
  11. You peeps consider him to be creepy?? Thats why I never post any pictures of myself on here
  12. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 26, 2005 -> 11:48 AM) Actually, the person that first expressed that sentiment was Jules Verne's character Captain Nemo from "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea". "Heavy Sleep, the Cousin of Death." - Charles Sackville, Earl of Dorset, (1638-1706) English courtier, poet and soldier Charles Sackville...hes the man...
  13. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 26, 2005 -> 08:34 AM) I was wondering if that was an original line that Nas came up with, or if someone had used it before. U know I'm not really sure...give me a break OK!?!? I know I've never heard if before I guess I could do some research...I am bored at work...
  14. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 26, 2005 -> 08:25 AM) that's right, was that original? Uhh...I'm not sure what your talking about... But It was from the Illmatic album Not NY State of Mind Vol. 2 from his later release
  15. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 26, 2005 -> 08:17 AM) Of course there's the "WIN NOW" mentality, that those others are going to use. Yes...Come August when El Duque is back on the shelf BMac will be back to help us win now.
  16. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 26, 2005 -> 08:15 AM) who said: sleep is the cousin of death? EZ One... Nasty Nas "NY State of Mind" Great song-great lyricist
  17. QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ May 26, 2005 -> 07:46 AM) the REAL chicago hockey team Can't we replace REAL with ONLY?
  18. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 26, 2005 -> 08:06 AM) Just read any thread mentioning Vizcaino (mainly with a gas can), Neal Cotts (and the leadoff walk, and he has no control), and any thread on Kevin Walker. I GUARANTEE there'll be quite a few. Yea I know...but the point everyone is missing is its not about how bad these guys are it's what is best for your biggest pitching prospect to come up since Mark B....but logic is a gift, given to us select few
  19. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 26, 2005 -> 08:05 AM) Yeah I know Steff, we're both on the same viewpoint on B-Mac, it's just there's a lot of people on the other side, mainly because of the likes of Cotts, Vizcaino and Walker in our pen. Hey now every bullpen has a soft underbelly...And Cotts has not been that bad, Walker hasn't even gotten in a meaningful game. I wont argue with Vizcaino who has me frustrated beyond belief...But we need BMac to take their place in the bullpen just sitting out there, kickin it with Art...Sometimes I'll never get it
  20. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 26, 2005 -> 08:03 AM) Most people think Kevin Walker and Timo Perez will be the ones to go with Frank and Gload coming back. Depends if the Sox want to keep Walker up as the extra lefty. Who are these "MOST PEOPLE" and where can I get my hands on them???
  21. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ May 26, 2005 -> 08:01 AM) As Hawk would say..."What New?" Very True...but he also says "C'mon Timo" Ok..im done, i obviously didnt get enough sleep last night
  22. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ May 26, 2005 -> 07:58 AM) Hey why is that in green... I worked hard to make everyone not like me I have to admit, I have a mancrush on Iguchi... I that lil asian fella So has this thread officially fallen into the realm of weird???
  23. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 26, 2005 -> 07:54 AM) Jon Adkins perhaps (even though he hasn't been that successful either). Arnie Munoz? But the Sox have shown they will take starters from the minors that long - term probably won't make it as starters in the big leagues, and put them in the bullpen instead. Sure, if your BAD as a starter you relegate the person to the bullpen...All these related incidents, I dont see as comparisons at all. Mark Buerhle was put into the bullpen when he first came up because there was a need for lefty reliever, same with Cottsy. Brandon really isn't needed to be a long reliever, If we have a glaring need for one bring up Jon Adkins or Robert Person. Its not like your long reliever has to be good anyways...
  24. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ May 26, 2005 -> 07:52 AM) I think we can deal with it...I was just giving ya chit is all....carry on Yea just ignore Jester...no one likes him anyway Welcome and I actually have a mancrush on AJ myself But the Widgenator has been most impressive in his rare appearances...
