    Oh boy...

QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 10:30 AM) Not me.. Jim got the Razor. He loves it. I don't. I've had the Motorola V600 for a couple years (since it came out whenever that was). I want something that was easier to use the net and text on since it seems I am always texting or on the net when I'm not at work or home. This one takes movies which I think is just the coolest thing.. I'm a phone nerd. That was it I knew you were talking about the RAZR phone a while back. I don't even use the camera on my phone. I do use the internet and I text like a fiend but I always take the best phone they will give me for free. Usually I make out pretty good because I was blessed with the ability of being a whiny b****.

    Oh boy...

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 10:30 AM) I can't wait to get rid of my Cingular service. It is the worst service I have ever had. I get infinately more dropped calls, and no signal problems than I ever did when I had Nextel. Such is the neverending plight of most cell phone users. Most of us are never happy with the service, and everyone elses always looks better. I've had Verizon for 5 years now and I'm not happy but I figure how much better can it be elsewhere. Plus I love how if your willing to complain they just take money off of your bill!!

    Oh boy...

QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 10:05 AM) Supposedly this one does that via the internet. I could watch mlb.com feeds on my Motorola. This I would imagine is the same. Just have to figure out how.. This phone is much different (button function wise) from the Motorola's. Didn't you just get a phone a few months ago?? Geeez... It does look pretty cool, darn new-fangled gadgets.

    Wedding Guest Shot

QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 10:16 AM) i passed it every day for 4 years when i went to marist. always seemed like a classy place. for the family. Heck I was there for a wedding about six months ago. It is a relatively nice place, your average banquet hall... And your right Steff, I hope I didnt imply that Alsip is a rough neighborhood. Not at all...

Wow...that is way too close for my comfort... What a sad story
  6. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 08:47 AM) Kevin Walker sure didn't miss a beat... In the left handed relief depth charts we have got to be looking at this... Arnie Munoz Kevin Walker Jim Bullard At least he is consistent. He manages to give up at least one run every outing...WASTE OF SPACE
  7. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 07:38 AM) Damn, I may get banned from another Sox site I don't like this guy already "Insert token derogatory, inflammatory comment here" :headshake
  8. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 08:42 AM) Ok, so from I-57, switch to I-80 and get off at Harlem. How long after being on I-57 does the switch to I-80 come? Is it I-80 east or west, or is there only one? Take I-57 to I-80 West. You will only be on 80 for about 2 Miles. Harlem will be your first exit as soon as you get on I-80. Take Harlem North (I know that seems like the wrong way but just trust me on this one.). Go up to 183rd make a right to Oak Park Ave. and then make another right on Oak Park Ave. It will be on the left side of the street. Going this way will put you with the local traffic but keep you out of the majority of the city traffic coming from Vollmer. Have a good time
  9. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 08:29 AM) At 57 and 80 are they not still re-doing the middle barriers..? It's going to take an hour just to get to the Dan Ryan and 57 from the north side. Then the merging traffic onto 57 from the Dan Ryan is at least another 40 minutes of 20 mph traffic. Once he's on 80 it's a breeze.. I don't travel this way. Got the info from a co-worker that lives off of 183rd blocks from Tweeter and his wife works at the Mart so she travels this way every day. Construction on 80 ends at the 80-94 merge tollway. So where 57 gets on it is usually pretty clear. I work in South Holland and commute from Lemont everyday. I sit on the 294 traffic everyday so I pretty much know the streets. I wouldn't recommend the Vollmer exit because they have almost all of their chicago traffic go that way. His best bet is to get on 80 and exit Harlem.
  10. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 07:52 AM) Holy Crap, 4 hours!!! I dont think your going to need four hours...there is no construction on I-80 where he will get on from 57. It honestly shouldnt take you more than an hour and a half. And yes I'm in Tinley Park all the time.
  11. Already ordered my copy!!!! Can't wait to watch it
  12. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 12:21 PM) I would not be surprised to see next years payroll right at the $100 million mark. Likewise-I think even a playoff run to the ALCS or World Series will get JR to up the payroll to add a bat or two. He wants that World Series bad, and there is no better time than now with the pitching we currently have.

    Duck Hell

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 12:20 PM) That's cool. I've seen fox and coyote in my yard in the past month. Not surprisingly, I can't remember the last time I saw a rabbit, or even a opposum or racoon. I seldom get to see Foxes around...they're probably like my favorite animal, right behind the liger of course. If you want to see a raccoon we can borrow u a few from our neighborhood.
  14. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 12:16 PM) How sick would this rotation be? Buehrle Garcia Garland Burnett ContrerASS There's not a guy in there that people enjoy facing. By people you do mean everyteam except the Athletics...They love facing our team. :banghead

    Duck Hell

I know its sad that the duck was killed...but that is how the whole nature thing plays out. However, Hawks are absolutely beautiful animals as well. We have one at my house that sits atop a dead tree branch everyday. He pretty much rules! Edit: After rereading my post I've decided the "pretty much rules" line is extremely queer...TIA, and I apologize
  16. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 06:16 PM) Write something funnier Funnier? But I agree...shes a really good writer, very amusing, tells a great story. We need a sox fan with her wit. And no you don't count!!!
  17. Three words: Alternative Minimum Tax There is your additional tax revenue ladies and gentlemen
  18. QUOTE(SAVVY18 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 11:19 PM) A family friend won a seat to the main event on-line and he was still in it as of this morning, but I just saw that he busted out. But he did win just over $21K. Not bad for an amateur. Wow...good for him that would be quite the experience! As for the tourney I can't believe its already down to 185 players!
  19. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 09:56 AM) I have a question, can anyone get into the tournament? as long as they have the 10k to buy in of course. Yup...anyone can play...just pony up the dough. The winner is going to take home 7.5 Million and everyone at the final table (the last nine) will recieve a million or more. I think they were going to cap the entries at 6600 this year, but I think the final count was 5629 entries or something like that.
  20. QUOTE(SAVVY18 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 08:29 AM) Since we aren't dropping names, it is kinda hard to discuss things. Well I guess we could drop names...........................I'm just trying to be courteous! Yeah I can't believe how many people are out after two days. Granted, I think the levels are getting moved up slightly faster than last year, forcing more agressive play. Odds are in the favor of amateurs since about 75-80% of the field is exactly that.... I was suprised how a few of the pros busted out right before their first day ended. I would be hard pressed to have 35,000 in chips and put all my chips in the pot right before the level ended. But I guess your mentality has to be strike while the iron is hot. On Cardplayer they were interviewing one of the amateurs who had a relatively large stack. They ask him how he brought in his chips. And all he really said was he had quads three times on day 1. I think I get quads about 3 times a year Luck plays such a huge part, although I would like to see a pro or two at the final table. Especially since alot of my favorite players are still alive.
  21. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 07:55 AM) There is no doubt that Pods is a terrible LFer who is blessed with terrific speed to make up for some of his mistakes. People have ripped Everett's ability to play D, but I think he has more ability to make plays out there than Pods does. I honestly cannot believe he played CF everyday for the past two seasons. I'm glad I'm not/was a Brewers fan He freezes on balls over his head and takes some of the most ridiculous routes to balls I have ever seen. I have been ok with Everett out there this year.
  22. QUOTE(wallyburger @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 07:32 AM) Besides being one of the dumbest, most profane, spittingest managers in MLB, Ozzie has the benefit of having the worst excuse for a bench coach. Is anyone responsible for waking Harold up during the game? What does Harold The Mope do, besides reload Ozzie's sunflower seed bucket? The holes in this roster were glaringly exposed this weekend. P.S. Really bugs my ass when I see the starting SS and CF on Mariners roster. Welcome to Soxtalk first of all! I do also wonder what Harold Baines purpose is on this team. He was never vocal as a player, and I doubt that has changed as a coach. Anytime they show a shot of the dugout Baines sits motionless in the corner much like he did during his playing days. As for the rest of your post, I would love to hear what the glaring holes in our roster are? Are you sure your not overreacting just a little bit?
  23. QUOTE(Y2HH @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 06:54 AM) Big loss. As much as I like Crede's defense, he's just a rally killer and a black hole in the lineup. I'd trade him. Watching Pablo Ozuna play third base everyday makes me long for Joe Crede back and healthy
  24. Not sure if anyone else is following it online but if they are I figured we could use a thread for discussion. I know we have some poker players/fans on here but I haven't read any topics on the WSOP. Two sites that I have been using to get some pretty good updates is Cardplayer.com and Poker Pages. Today is Day 3 and there are approx. 575 players remaining. I'll spare any name dropping since there maybe alot of you who watch it on ESPN and don't care to discuss the winners/losers. P.S. I don't consider Poker a sport but it is shown on ESPN so if this should be moved by all means go ahead and do so...
  25. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 09:20 PM) Detroit Tigers lineup is healthy and looks very formidable right now...350-1 to win the world series is a real bargain! Carlos Guillen, Maggs, Irod are all back....look for big 2nd half for Tigers. For what it is worth the AL central division is very strong! Wild card has won last 3 WS..... And when is Florida going to wake up? What is wrong with that team? Are you Craig Monroe or D'mitri Young?
