  1. Funny I still call him Puffy...What am I stuck in circa 1998?? Any other title and there is no way I would've clicked on this thread...consider that a small victory in itself
  2. Ha...And now my losing streak stands at 7 How late did you stay at the game? I was forcibly removed after the fourteenth inning by two friends who don't understand the importance of sox games over being physically able to function at work. But I'm not too upset to have missed the Adkins Implosion in the 16th.
  3. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 02:24 PM) If they lose we will all know who the jinx is... :rolly Well my losing streak is at six games...goin for seven tonight!! :banghead :puke
  4. QUOTE(daa84 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 09:52 PM) the score is bad and getting worse. they just let go of J-Hood, clearly their best guy. he knew his stuff, talked about sports and only sports. the score is getting just down right brutal. the morning show is a joke. north is a complete dope, i dont know a single sox fan who listens and enjoys boers and bernstein, and mike murphy by himself is about as interesting jane austen. when he gets piersall on the show it gets even worse. Mulligan and buffone are the only ones worth listening to anymore. i just hope they dont f*** up sox games next year like they have with teh rest of their station. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...cs-home-utility on the other end of the dial, mac jurko and harry continue to talk less and less and less about sports and more and more and more about pointless nonsense. thank god they still have the national guys mike and mike and dan patrick to carry them I enjoy listening to them simply for entertainment value
  5. Ha...I'll be there (they have only lost 5 in a row with me in attendance) shhhhhhh

    QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 12:44 PM) rachel ray anyone? Not so much but I do like this Italian girl who has a show on the food network: Giada De Laurentis (sp) or something like that
  8. QUOTE(LauraJ14 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 10:39 AM) Will the Sox even have any lower deck tickets on sale to the Public? I dunno...all i do know is I did get lower deck for 2003 for the playoff games that ended up never taking place
  9. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 03:30 PM) I wouldn't pay 12000 bucks more for it. In fact I woudln't pay 3000 more for it which is about what it costs now to get a hybrid. Financially it doesn't make sense cause unless you drive a total assload, its going to take way too long to ever reclaim the savings. I'm shocked you never even brought up the tax writeoff available for purchasing a hybrid...normally your all over the tax stuff But I do agree right now a hybrid is just isn't for me but sooner rather than later it may just be the right purchase.

    QUOTE(UofIChiSox @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 10:55 AM) Kelly Ripa is definitely hot, I don't think you're alone on that one. Mine is Ali Larter, She's sort of B-List, but she's the whip cream bikini girl from Varsity Blues, and she's been in the Final Destination movies and American Outlaws, among others. Yeah you really stepped out on a limb there yourself...lol Plus I was just looking for any excuse to post a picture of Kelly
  11. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 09:12 AM) That's what I look like after a Chimay bender. Haha...you and me both Those benders literally take years off of your life

  13. QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 06:00 PM) You are not seeing the big picture, or the whole picture. Adkins is a marginal pitcher to be sure. He has only gotten in 1-2 games, but he has warmed up a ton. That means other guys aren't warming up and are getting full and complete rest days. The goal is to keep the pitching fresh going into the stretch, not to give some guy 3-4 at bats per week. Exactly...the whole point of why Adkins is here can basically be summed up as "in case s***" happens. In case of an early exit by a starting pitcher or a blowout then Adkins can be summoned to pitch. I like the fact he is here just so he can come in and eat 3 or 4 innings when we need him. It may only be only two or three times a month but I would much rather see him out there than having Politte pitch two, Cotts one and Jenks one when we can use Adkins in these situations.
  14. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 10:02 AM) good teams make their own breaks. ^^^ Thats probably about all there is to say...yes we are sometimes lucky but more often we are good. This kind of statistical breakdown means just about nothing to me.
  15. Got my tickets in the mail yesterday...so most of you who ordered should be getting them today or monday.
  16. QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 03:38 PM) Your sig scares me, Chisoxrd5.......... Porque?
  17. QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 03:24 PM) LOL I didn't even get it. My sense of humor is not limited at all, but my capacity for understanding jokes sometimes is.
  18. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 03:22 PM) Eh, 81 games vs 13 games, not really a comparison IMO I'm pretty sure he meant people who bought the ozzie plan vs. the general public who will have an opportunity to grab the remaining lower deck tix when they are released. The Ozzie plan offers you a guaranteed opportunity at getting playoff tix. The general public (i.e. ME) will have to claw and fight to get our hands on a set of tix for any game. So yes you are still getting preferential treatment but just of a smaller scale than those who have full season and split season packages.
  19. QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 03:17 PM) Can we change the sign to say "I'm with dumbust"? Sorry sometimes I go out of my way to be the 'funnist' person around.
  20. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 02:29 PM) Price may have been a factor too. A company-sponsored patio party I'm going to is 20 bucks, less than half of this one. I think they coulda done a little better than just 10 bucks off the original price, which is what I think it states on the order form... hmm...I thought it was a bargain. I couldn't eat and drink for that much at the park usually
  21. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 07:17 AM) Eh.. Justin Timberlake ref.... I have no online image anyway, so I will admit I do own a copy of that CD
  22. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 07:07 AM) Sigh.. sure wish I was going to that show.. Oh please....cry me a river
  23. Well yesterday afternoon I'm sitting at work staring at the clock anxiously awaiting the end of the day. My cell phone rings, which is moderately odd considering I seldom get phone calls during my work day as my nazi office cracks down on personal calls Anyway, I get offered four free tix to the 311 concert and figured, what the hell I'll go. Now don't get me wrong I like 311 but I would never usually go to one of their shows. Well let me tell you they truly do kick ass in concert! What a great show. They played for a solid 2 hours and their energy level was high throughout. Unwritten Law and Papa Roach opened. Both were very MEH... As for the venue, I highly recommend seeing a show at this Northerly Island place (Meigs Field) for you old timers Right on the lake, outdoors, not too big at all...by far the best outdoor venue in the city. Up next for me: Coldplay on Saturday Night
  24. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 06:06 PM) Aaron is absolutely, positively, 100000% not on steriods. Remind me to talk w/ you about this at a later date....I have an interesting perspective on this discussion
  25. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 10:58 AM) Are you sure about that? Because I can cite a different "anti-caribbean ballplayer" story A guy on the radio in Frisco named Larry Krueger...on the station that carries the Giants, went on a rant during the postgame show. He complained about too many "brain-dead Caribbean hitters hacking at slop nightly" and said Alou's "mind has turned to Cream of Wheat." Felipe Alou got pissed and made it an issue (rightly so). Krueger was suspended last week, and fired yesterday. Well yes that was also an incident that occured this week. But the one being discussed on Mike & Mike this morning was the St. Louis, Bob Feller interview. Both stories are a little odd...
