QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 02:02 PM) I can give you 7,333,333 reasons it won't happen. Is that the number of HR's that Cameron hit off of Parque a few years back?

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 01:47 PM) I just think that alot of people come on here and get real agressive early. There are alot of opinions, and just because yours gets shot down initially, you can defend it and then agree to disagree. Lately there have been new people starting numerous threads about things that flat out are ridiculous, and it makes people think less of the new person. I dont think I started my first thread for at leat 500 posts. Not to mention I try my best to look at both side of the argument and at least part acknowledging the other persons point of view. I still hardly ever start threads...I have a fear that Steff is gonna tear me apart!! And if I do it usually includes an article or some sort of informative sidebar. And to think I've been here for 2 years...

QUOTE(whitesox91403 @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 02:09 AM) What kind of shape is that going to put him in for Illinois though this coming season? Well better than it would be than with him in a NBA uniform on..with Dee were a top 20 team without him probably 30-40 I cant imagine a broken foot could sideline him into next years college season

Every time Carl Everett speaks, he weakens the nation I mean seriously where does this stuff come from? I thought at worst he was gonna complain about the umpiring yesterday night (which was terrible)...But a conspiracy theory like this? :headshake at the same time

Stop at Randolph, and walk a few blocks east...Thats your best bet Unfortunately I will still be on vacation as of Friday but I might head out to the game saturday...so....

QUOTE(mreye @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 08:35 AM) It's Interleague baseball, people! There are Sox fans everywhere! If the Sox were in Colorado 5 times a year, it wouldn't have been that loud. This is the first time they've ever been there so every Sox fan for miles around made plans for a special trip when they saw that on the schedule. There are always fans of the visiting team in every park. In interleague baseball it's more concentrated. It's not fair weather fans. Yes, there were probably some there, but that's not who you heard screaming. I kinda wonder how many sox fans will be at Petco this weekend??

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 12:40 PM) Holy s***! The actual draft? When does the draft begin? The D'Backs have the first pick, right? If so, when are they on the clock? I think the first pick is at 11:30 central time...and yes its the D'Backs. The MLB draft really doesnt have a 'clock' persay and if you listen to it on MLB.Com it is just a massive conference call where the war rooms are all connected and make pick after pick. Its good entertainment really, especially listening to Tommy Lasorda phone in the Dodger's picks.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 12:38 PM) Easy questions: when is the draft? Tomorrow and Wednesday

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 12:31 PM) Thats a bigger questionmark than Carillo whose already very round. If Carillo was 6-3, he'd be a top 10 pick, probably a top 5 pick. I think he's a huge value pick if he's available, but someone may snag him before he gets to the Sox. I like Carillo alot but I do worry taking another smallish hard throwing pitcher as Gio kinda fits the same mold. I know that Carillo has been throwing for Miami for the past three years and that Gio doesnt have the Plus-Plus FB that Carillo has but they both lack the size alot of scouts are looking for.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 12:08 PM) A side note...does anyone else kind of think that Coors field isn't the kind of park that goes well with a struggling Shingo? How so exactly? Shingo has given up longballs at a record rate this year, how does that translate to 'goin well at Coors'? STUPIDITY alert: DISREGARD THIS POST :banghead Better now?
-
QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 12:02 PM) Really? would you rather have walker, or Viz in there? I know I wouldnt. I no that Shingo has not been solid this year, but its still early. Shingo isnt a big worry for us, is he a worry, ofcorse, because he isnt preforming like he should, but he isnt a big worry. I actually would rather have Vizcaino in the game over Shingo, not because hes clearly better but its just a personal preference. As for Walker he is in AAA, where he belongs. Even when Shingo gets an out it always seems like it was lucky. I'm at the point now where he should only pitch in mop up duty or if the bullpen really needs a break. We will see him at least once against the rockies, so hopefully he can get some outs. Now how can you say hes not a worry? The only reason he isnt a worry is because he never pitches. Obviously anytime your closer goin into the season ends up becoming the last guy out of the bullpen I consider it a relatively large concern.

QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 11:48 AM) THANK YOU!!! finally someone else agrees with me that we need to use shingo more. He needs to pitch every day or every other day to stay affective, if he has long periods off, he preformance isnt as good. shingo will be fine. dont worry bout him....he is the least of worries HA...glad your not the manager!! The least of our worries? Well I can only speak for myself but I get pretty damn worried everytime I see him on the mound with the ball. If he needs work he should go down to AAA for a while, we couldnt possibly let him pitch in that many games up here.

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ May 3, 2005 -> 06:29 PM) Anyone buy the Ben Folds CD or have atleast listened to it? I'm thinking of going out and buying it. I have a copy...theres one song on the CD worth listening too...Track 2 "You To Thank" Other than that I could take it or leave it.

With the 13th Pick in the draft the Orioles are gonna go with OF Jay Bruce. We can't pass him up...plus he sounds signable now that Boras is no longer involved. Its kinda a priority to sign their first round pick after the Wade Townsend debacle

What is the biggest need for the White Sox now?

QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 07:31 AM) You mean Harold isn't cutting it for ya?? I swear I don't know what that guy does. Ozzie does need someone to help him with 'baseball' decisions, but his ego would never let that happen. Its long been known that Harold isnt exactly a vocal person...how he ever was chosen for a postion like bench coach is beyond me. He doesnt say anything, maybe thats what Ozzie wants out of his bench coach. -
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 07:26 AM) How are the White Sox a fit for Preston Wilson? We are already trying to figure out what to do with Everett when Frank is actually healthy enough to play, what would we do with Wilson? Not to mention if we trade for Wilson how is Timo gonna get enough at bats?
-
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 08:46 AM) Not to interupt Jim and Quicks fest, but any thoughts on this? how similar are first and third, and could Crede have been a better option? Geez SS2K I give a long response to your little question and you dont even respond back...I'm offended

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 09:13 AM) I think the team's success has swelled Ozzie's ego so much that he thinks he can win with whatever crap he throws out there. The sad thing is I agree...He has become the mad scientist with this team. Ozzieball has become toss junk together, call it his "feel" and try to win the game. Heck, the sox almost came back last night, despite his "feelings".
