QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 09:02 AM) Nobody knows anything for sure yet. Everyone is rushing to judgement it sounds like to me. Hmm...didnt I just say that, OH WAIT 50 POSTS AGO??? I was quickly rebutted, saying the facts are already known.... :rolly

QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 08:55 AM) They play 4/6 to 4/11, off on the 12, then 4/13 to 4/27 before another day off on 4/28. Where the hell do you get 5 days rest in there...??? IMO, there is no concievable way we will go with a four man rotation when our biggest innings eater (245 last year) is injured...I dont care if we play five days a week every week for the entire month of April. You dont want to burn out El Duque in the first month of the year when he hasnt pitched a full season since 2001.

QUOTE(quickman @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 08:48 AM) it maybe steff, but he is the best we have right now, they could go with a four man for the first two weeks. Bmac's has many options left, and the free agaent clsock starts ticking when he comes north. Also he is very young. They may just try a four man. We will know later. A four man rotation with those two fourty year old cubans? I thought you said you knew baseball?!?!

C'mon Dude, relax...there are no steriods in baseball. Dusty Baker is a tool :headshake This quote is great...bout time Frank gets the press he deserves, but look, couldnt find an article in a Chicago Newspaper like that. Its a dirty shame what the Chicago media has done to Frank in the past few years.

SF Chronicle calls Cubs fans racist
Chisoxrd5 replied to Gene Honda Civic's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I honestly cannot believe something like this actually was written!!! A quote from a 'white friend' of Dustys. What a load of s***...Racism is the reason hes been questioned? Maybe he should look at the way he has handled every situation thus far... Did he lose control of that clubhouse last year? YES Did they win? NO Did he use his pitching staff properly? i.e latroy hawkins...NO Your job as a baseball manager is NOT a hard one, be a leader, push the right buttons and win games. That cubs team had more talent than just about every other team in the playoffs last year and they choked all over themselves. Amazing how Dusty was able to displace blame to everything else, the fans, the announcers, the city, now racism?? Just win...This guy makes me sick, fits perfectly on the North Side. I'm just upset I have to listen and read about this fool....come to think of it I must be racist -
Can he play third base???? Our other favorite Joe hasnt exactly look refreshed after the offseason, still looks mired in his 3 year slump

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 06:06 AM) I know the purists say that a card is worth "less money" - but that's speculative. It's all about the market, and the market says a signature on the card increases the value, not decreases it. Not really true at all... I used to collect autographs back in jr high and high school. The market for autographed cards isn't exactly 'booming business'. The fact of the matter is to try and not get a rookie card autographed. The rookie card by itself holds value and doesnt need a signature on it to boost the value. Look for cards that aesthetically would look good autographed. Find a cheap insert card or a nice second year card. Autographed cards are the most valuable for the rememberance of getting the autograph. I've also found that blue sharpies look MUCH better than black on a card...once u go blue u never go back....any other questions feel free to ask!

QUOTE(Cali @ Mar 6, 2005 -> 10:28 PM) You're right, I do tend to spoil things with my coolness, it is my one fault. It's not just about this one reality show, it's all of them. I doubt that you love ALL reality shows (at least I hope not) In my opinion, the worst scripted show is better than the best reality show. Because these shows aren't "reality", and at least it took some talent to write/act in Half and Half or whatever UPN show is the worst. It takes no talent to be on a "reality" show. I'll never understand the appeal of reality shows....hopefully people will realize just how dumb these shows are and stop watching and they'll go away forever. I dont watch one reality show on television... I say that even though i do watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition. How do u put that into the reality show genre? Its nice to see something uplifting instead of people fueding over a million bucks or some sort of contract on a reality show.

Well I might be too old to appreciate the lyrical mastery of fifty cent and the game....but I've always thought Nas was lyrically the best rapper ever...I'm not saying he is the best rapper I put Tupac, Biggie and Jay ahead of him...but lyrically Nas is the best. As for the past year, Kanye's album is by FAR the best rap to come out...all this gunit talk is downright humorous

QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 11:10 PM) Moe: Hey Homer, do fries come with that shake??? Homer: They sure do. he then pulls fries out and gives them to Moe....LOL That was hilarious...along with the at the dinner table scene where LeBron is handed the salad bowl and proceeds to jump up on the table and dunk it through the chandelier...that was hilarious

A pox on Sox, Cubs for sending Ordonez away By Greg Couch Chicago Sun Times What a disgusting article...Totally biased, took a page out of Mariotti's book for this one. If Couch is trying to get his name out there by writing controversial garbage well he did a good job To write this article AFTER Magglio recieved 75 Million dollars is a joke and makes me wonder why I'm not working as a columnist for a major newspaper. The White Sox and Cubs were right in letting Maggs walk for money like that...Granted, the cubs signed Jeromy Burnitz :finger But still...what a joke this one is!

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 06:54 PM) IU hangs on against Oral Roberts? Dear Lord. Well actually Oral Roberts has been relatively solid this year (I believe only two losses at Hawaii and at Indiana) ...so I wont dog them for beating a good team like that. Not that I think Indiana is going to have a good season but lets be honest the bottom tier of the Big 10 is bad -
