A Realistic Offseason
When KW was running the show I was anything but a yes man. RH is a very smart guy and I give him and JR more credit than you do. We shall see. You can wash a window to the right and you can wash a window to the left. Try not to always wash it in the wrong direction.?

A Realistic Offseason
If we all agreed...no point in having a forum.

Castellanos
Avi is better than many people we have discussed here. If we spend a boat load on starting pitching & Grandal...a player like Avi might make sense.

A Realistic Offseason
Ye of little faith.

A Realistic Offseason
I have every faith that JR will go 160+. That is just barely into the top third of baseball. They will put their money where the mouth has been.

A Realistic Offseason
I like many of your ideas. However...I want to be consistent in my view that Madrigal is untouchable. I understand that everyone is tradable but you have to draw the line somewhere.

A Realistic Offseason
You lost me at trade Madrigal.

Edwin Encarnacion - DH
Moose and EE are consolation prizes if you don't get Grandal.

Yolmer wins a GG
Sanchez/Engel/Garcia are all welcome back as backups. They are all ideal for that role. And yes...Sanchez needs to settle for a few less bucks than arbitration would call for.

Edwin Encarnacion - DH
EE is a fall back if we don't get Grandal.

Sox issue qualifying offer to Abreu
Thanks for noticing.

A Realistic Offseason
I still can't help but wonder if Abreu and Moncada could get him motivated.

Sox issue qualifying offer to Abreu
Don't be obtuse.

Guys...guys...guys...it's a long offseason. Let's be nice.

Sox issue qualifying offer to Abreu
He will accept the QO and continue to negotiate. I expect a 2 year contract for 14 per as I suggest. Just because you accept the QO doesn't mean you are through talking...as I'm sure you know.

Angels decline $14 million option on Kole Calhoun
If we want a place holder just sign Avi.
-
Sox issue qualifying offer to Abreu
Jose will not decline the QO. He will probably take the security and negotiate for 2 years at 14 per year.

A Realistic Offseason
I think the number will be about 160M. If the FO intends to compete...a top third payroll seems necessary. They know this better than we do.

A Realistic Offseason
Don't we all choose to live in different towns and States? Chicago is a very desirable place to live and play for some people. I wouldn't want to live in New York or Boston...we're all different. Most players want to play where they make the most money and have a chance to start IMO.

Eloy snubbed for ROY final 3...
We got what we paid for...I'm happy.

Sox issue qualifying offer to Abreu
This is my take on it. Jose gets a chance to test the water...in a few weeks a deal for 2 years at 14 per year is announced.

Grandal - Early Off-Season Speculation
The highlighted should be the FO plan and it is doable.

A Realistic Offseason
Madrigal will be a fan favorite for the next 10 years. A guy who really can play small ball and do everything except hit homers.

Zack Wheeler Thread
The qualifying offer will help suppress his interest level a bit. My guess is 4 years at about 75 M gets it done.
