Pederson is still my favorite name so far. Like you...wouldn't overpay to get him but don't expect the price to be silly.

McCann will play in more than 82 games and Grandal will and should play in 10 less games. Well rested catchers is a huge plus as the season wears on. The spirit of the mix and match of catcher/backup catcher/DH/1st. base is what makes Grandal such a super match for us.

I want Wheeler but not ruling out Cole until RH says we are out. They mean business this year. We have as much financial flexibility as anyone.

As I've said...I think this is the FO version of "all in" time. They are not attempting to sneak up on another championship...they are going after it.

If I told you my thoughts on that question I would be soundly criticized by many. I took a lot of heat on my prediction of a payroll in excess of 160+ but more people will be jumping on that bandwagon soon.

Catchers wear down in a long season. Let Grandal catch 70-80 games and DH 70 games or so. McCann can catch 50 - 60 games and DH 50 or so. Pick your spots with Collins at catcher/DH/ and backup catcher. Well rested catchers is a luxury most teams don't have.

We have a great catcher/DH/backup catcher situation. If anything help Collins develop...this will. Two excellent mentors.
