Sox Non-Tender Yolmer, Frare, Burr, Release Veiera
I presume you have a source.?

Cole or Strasburg?
I don't know but I like his train of thought.

Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
You lied to your wife about something so important? How unusual.

Ken Rosenthal, Jon Heyman say White Sox have better roster than Cubs for next five years
I agree with you. Hated the trade when it happened and still do. My Cub fan brother thinks it was great for the WS reason. That's why they make chocolate and vanilla.

Cole Hamels to the Braves, 1 year $18 Million.
Wasn't pointless to Garfien. Got a few extra listeners.

McCann inks 1 year, 5.4M deal with Sox
I don't think a new DH is in our future. The rotation of catchers provide the DH position.

Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
I would love that going into the meetings.

Teams look in on lots of players just to be sure they have done due diligence. There are limited teams going to spend 100+ million on Wheeler. Players need to be careful not to overplay their hands just like owners shouldn't lowball.

What is a realistic payroll ceiling for the sox?
I believe 160 + makes the top third of MLB. A major market such as the WS have zero reason not to be in the top third of baseball. I believe we will spend this amount in 2020.

Cole Hamels to the Braves, 1 year $18 Million.
We shouldn't be outbid by any team for any players we want. Our financial situation is second to none. To clarify...a player can get so costly as to be a poor acquisition but not unaffordable.

Scary stuff.

Cole Hamels to the Braves, 1 year $18 Million.
I agree 100%.

Cole Hamels to the Braves, 1 year $18 Million.
I know the Coop thing is a yuk yuk...but if he's the pitching coaching they should be getting his opinion on these FA pitchers. Also, Grandal & McCann would be worth getting their two cents worth.

Ryu fits our situation very well IMO.

Cole Hamels to the Braves, 1 year $18 Million.
If we make an offer to Hamels it will be a Hobson's Choice. A lowball take it or leave it. He only has some value if Coop thinks he can fix him.

Ken Rosenthal, Jon Heyman say White Sox have better roster than Cubs for next five years
Schwarber is the poster boy for the old axiom that it is better to trade a player a year to early rather than a year to late.
-
McCann inks 1 year, 5.4M deal with Sox
Can't think of any catching crew I would rather have.

Cole Hamels to the Braves, 1 year $18 Million.
Hamels was a very good pitcher but is kind of scary now. Led the MAJORS in hard hit balls % at 41.2. If he is coupled with Cole I'll hope Coop can fix him. Not all that excited with the Wheeler/Hamels combo.
-
Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
I agree with you. Hamels led the MAJORS in hard hit balls at 41.2%. Cole coupled with 1 year of Hamels at say 10 mil. show me contract I say fine. Leading baseball in hard hit balls is a scary stat IMO.

Ken Rosenthal, Jon Heyman say White Sox have better roster than Cubs for next five years
If you really want to drive them crazy...beat them in the World Series.
-
Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
If we miss on Wheeler we could shoot for the first tier guys.?
-
Ken Rosenthal, Jon Heyman say White Sox have better roster than Cubs for next five years
I wasn't suggesting we make that trade. Just gave a name in answer to a question.

Offseason 2019-2020 MLB Catch All Thread
You and me both. Over 7 million salary but very good. Good/great ERA and thirty something saves.

Ken Rosenthal, Jon Heyman say White Sox have better roster than Cubs for next five years
Those are some serious miscues for a boy genius. Should make RH feel a little better.

McCann inks 1 year, 5.4M deal with Sox
One more premium FA signing before the Winter Meetings would make us look very desirable to those who are kicking our tires next week.
