  1. You don't get better by trading your best relief pitcher for a one year rental. Fulmer straight up is about right.
  2. We've been told how players love Renteria. Girardi is a technically good manager not particularly liked by his players.
  3. Yeah...Philly and Cinci are really desirable places to live.
  4. We could just sign Wheeler and Ryu plus sign two of the best relievers we can find. Might as well become a pitching powerhouse.
  5. Sanchez, Engel and Gracia are all fine in a backup roll. Actually...ideal!
  6. In a few weeks Sanchez will probably be back for about 4 million. Needs to find out his value is limited to about that number.
  7. I don't know but I like his train of thought.
  8. You lied to your wife about something so important? How unusual.
  9. I agree with you. Hated the trade when it happened and still do. My Cub fan brother thinks it was great for the WS reason. That's why they make chocolate and vanilla.
  10. Wasn't pointless to Garfien. Got a few extra listeners.
  11. I don't think a new DH is in our future. The rotation of catchers provide the DH position.
  12. Teams look in on lots of players just to be sure they have done due diligence. There are limited teams going to spend 100+ million on Wheeler. Players need to be careful not to overplay their hands just like owners shouldn't lowball.
  13. I believe 160 + makes the top third of MLB. A major market such as the WS have zero reason not to be in the top third of baseball. I believe we will spend this amount in 2020.
  14. We shouldn't be outbid by any team for any players we want. Our financial situation is second to none. To clarify...a player can get so costly as to be a poor acquisition but not unaffordable.
  15. I know the Coop thing is a yuk yuk...but if he's the pitching coaching they should be getting his opinion on these FA pitchers. Also, Grandal & McCann would be worth getting their two cents worth.
  16. If we make an offer to Hamels it will be a Hobson's Choice. A lowball take it or leave it. He only has some value if Coop thinks he can fix him.
  17. Schwarber is the poster boy for the old axiom that it is better to trade a player a year to early rather than a year to late.
  18. Can't think of any catching crew I would rather have.
