Danny Farquhar returns to the Sox
Now this is a case of Jerry's loyalty to employee's leaving a good impression in my mind.
-
Hahn expects aggressive offseason
I hope not. Mutual agreement on an extension or goodbye Jose.

7/31 Mets @ Sox 7:10 pm NBCSN-CHI de Grom vs. Giolito
With Moncada out and no new toys to talk about...this is going to be a dull couple of weeks.

Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
RH made the decision to ask for and receive the moon or use Colome for our own run in 2020. Seems reasonable to me. Don't get me wrong...I wanted in on the action but RH is probably right in this inaction.

Sox make no deadline moves
I said more than a month ago that what the FO did today would show us their intentions for 2020. The only reason to keep Colome, Bummer & Abreu is if we are contending next year. RH now has this off season to show my faith in him is warranted.

Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
I expect Colome to be traded by the time I come down for breakfast tomorrow.

Sox vs. Mets - Tues, July 30th, 2019
And swinging at strikes.

2019 Trade Deadline Predictions
I'm surprised I haven't seen more of this rumor...seem like an obvious fit.
-
Luis Robert
This is my view as well. Baseball agrees to the rules...we play by them. Not much to argue about IMO.

2019 Trade Deadline Predictions
I don't know anything about Bader but his stat line looks like he could be Adam Engle.

Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
These guys should not be part of any deal. No player is untradeable...these guys come close. Could almost guarantee they come back and bite you in the ass.

Gerrit Cole - The Rebuild’s Fulcrum
The money being tossed around got very expensive even with the big boys sitting out. Next year we have very good third baseman and excellent 2nd baseman and the money to buy what we need in pitching and right field. The plan is on schedule IMO.

The Brewers' Pitching Trap
I like your thinking. I agree.

Quinn.

Steve Stone with a dose of reality for Sox fans
AJ would have the best of both worlds...good and evil.

Will you be mad if the Sox do not seriously try to move Abreu?
I obviously know that the 29 teams don't all want him. If one or two of those 29 teams want him we now have to out bid the competition if we want to retain his services. I thought that was self explanatory.

A fair and balanced soliloquy about Jose Abreu, by ron
Best outcome for all concerned is Jose signs a two or three year extension for 12-14 million per. His replacement is a year and a half away from ready. Why put ourselves in position to need yet another position filled. Reed is most definitely not the answer. Give Jose a fair offer like I suggest and move on to the clubs real needs.

The rest of the way...
I care about having the right manager and coaching staff to get it done.
-
Will you be mad if the Sox do not seriously try to move Abreu?
Bidding against 29 other teams is not the way to keep Abreu at a bargain price.

Super Nova vs Twinkies (7/27)
The AAA hitting coach must have straighten him out.
-
Super Nova vs Twinkies (7/27)
I wonder if we have been underestimating Nova...he's look really good lately. The Twinks are not easy to contain like he's doing tonight.
-
Super Nova vs Twinkies (7/27)
He could have been a 30 homer 30 stolen bases guy if he chose to. More likely if RR let him.
-
Will you be mad if the Sox do not seriously try to move Abreu?
Then he better be extended. Ending up empty handed is just nuts.
-
Steve Stone Says the White Sox are Working Hard on These Trades
Probably best to not know the names. The forums would go nuts for 5 days of speculation and if nothing happened the depression would settle in for the next month.
-
Teams are interested in Nova? Trade him!
Hope so.
