  1. I don't at all think a FA needs to sign for less money although considerations such as climate, near friends and family, etc. can be in play. Also, there are places I wouldn't want to live...in my case N.Y. My primary gripe is with current players who leave for the highest bidder via free agency rather than work a deal out with their current club. Lot's of people work where they are comfortable and feel appreciated rather than the place down the block that pays more. Fans give their allegiance to players and I like that loyalty returned to the fans. At some level I don't have a lot of sympathy for a guy with 100 million really needs to go because someone offered 105 million. I understand the other side of the issue...just not my style.
  2. This is why I hate Boris clients. It's always about I ….never team.
  3. He's actually been quite reliable with that.
  4. Except for one inning we did a good job of keeping the Twinks in check.
  5. Say what you will about Jay...he does get on base.
  6. By the end of next week your point might be moot.?
  7. He certainly does know how to square up the ball. Juice doesn't help unless you can do that.
  8. Just think...if Jose is playing 1st base when we win the next WS who will have the last laugh.?
  9. Greg...stop taking it so personally. Who cares that someone doesn't agree with you. We all have a right to like any player we want. It's all just fan opinion. The FO is going to do what they want. It would be different if Hahn was asking for our cheap opinions.
  10. Certainly know that is where the smart money is.
  11. We turned on Ozzie. Sometimes managers change. Not saying that's what is the situation with Cora...IDK.
  12. AJ would get a lot of votes using that criteria.
  13. Before I mentioned his name I was aware of his Cubs ties. This forum constantly talks of changing the culture of being cheap and homegrown. I am suggesting a manager (even an expensive one) would do a lot to change that image.
  14. All the better way for Gerardi to show how good he is.
  15. We could have the opening tomorrow morning. Not likely the Cubs would do that.
  16. That's Cub fans who have soured on Maddon for his odd use of players in nutty positions. I think Gerardi would go to the first Chicago team who offered the job.
  17. That would be a nice change of pace.
  18. Cease has kind of righted the ship. Still have high hopes for him in the long run. Growing pains.
  19. You are probably correct but Gerardi would be a signal to the baseball world that thing have changed on the southside.
  20. I would like Vizquel well enough...I would love the Sox to let it all hang out with a Gerardi hiring.
  21. That rally was single-handedly killed by Jose.
  22. AAA seems to have done wonders with Engel.
  23. Oh boy...leadoff man aboard. Here come the Sox.
  24. It is hard to look good when you lose like we do...but the coaching is suspect at the very least.
