I agree. With all these injuries second chances for Palka and Engle might be some weird blessing in disguise. I only half believe this but nothing to lose at this point.

I was assuming a payroll of 150 Million. A 30M per year salary on our current team would be using more than 50%...a ridiculous situation to be in. Our current low committed payroll coupled with the ability to spend at least 150 million now makes us players for any players we desire to pursue. I hope that we pursue pitching and pitching and still more pitching. A right fielder would also be nice. Then go ahead and pursue even more pitching.

It's very difficult to build a winning roster when you give 20% of your resources to one player.

Jerry's 83 years old and shows no signs of selling before his death. I believe I read there are estate tax reasons which make it foolish to sell. My point is it's foolish to think Jerry isn't a die hard fan just like any of us. I believe he will spend the money as it's his last chance to build a lasting dynasty type team.

By no means are opt outs given in all cases. Yes...some players ask for and get them because of circumstances unique to the situation. In my view...if a player doesn't want to commit to the team...we don't need him.

There is no player I would give an opt out to. The team is taking the risk when giving out mega deals. The team is entitled to certainty of control of player in exchange for certainty of income.

You are right...in 10 years no one will remember which of us is right about Moncada & Madrigal. I have been one of Madrigals biggest supporters on this sight. You tend to be Mr. negative about most things. These are just opinions we have. No one is right or wrong about anything we discuss. Just because you like to be more confrontational doesn't make you any more right in your opinions than anyone else. JUST OPINIONS.?

Just announced that McCann came in 2nd. Not surprised but disappointed.

No reason to abandon the catcher option. He has looked fairly decent behind the plate IMO.

With both Anderson and Moncada out I can't help wonder if Madrigal is going to get the call. With Garcia playing short...maybe Robert gets brought up also. Sure would make games more interesting. Might as well bring up Cease and get it over with. Just a thought...I know the arguments against these moves.
