since someone else brought this thread back up... never say never! I said it would be sweet and it is - as good as it can be in a series not involving the Sox! :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs and Prior and Wood -
  2. I will never accept the idea of trading away Mags - he means too much to the fans and the team I think the fan reaction to trading away Mags would be horrendous. Thomas, you can lose now without much reaction. PK, yes. Mags, no. You aren't going to sell many tickets for a Mags-less Sox team and a concept that is key is selling tickets. We once traded away a right fielder and I was glad we did, then and now. But not this right fielder, not now.
  3. Robin Yount - what an interesting concept that is always enjoyed his playing style - would be between Yount and Gaston for me I can't believe Buddy Bell is still under consideration
  4. wow, what a story - what a development. Thanks for the report on that - I had no idea he was that type of backstabber.

  6. BANDWAGON, any questions? He is a Sox fan, I have heard him before. Today on WGN in the morning he said he was done with the Sox, and I dont blame him. HAHA Let's see... hmmmm... Bermie Mac sang at the bottom of the 7th... top of the 8th was the best part of the game... bring them more luck, Bernie, just like that!
  7. right now John Cusack is on Letterman explaining that he is leaving the show to fly to Chicago for tonight's game...

they were speculating on the radio (whoever supplied the national broadcast) that everyone would have his name by tomorrow - as many times as the tv showed him close up it won't take long til he is identified - in that sense I feel sorry for the dude

  14. sitting in my favorite local restaurant/bar - they were hosting a wine tasting party with all the town's elite - I am watching the game and playing the NTN game - and suddenly from where I am sitting a cry goes up - "their own f***ing fan!" And some pumping of fist in the air - before I left people were gifting me with wine and pizza because I looked so happy and everyone cracked up! and since I can't have either, I am treating the office tomorrw to pizza and wine to take home and game 7 - I will sitting right there playing the NTN game - it worked tonight, gotta do it tomorrow! and as I recall: their own f***ing fan next pitch to the backstop next pitch an error - gotta love it - you knew the floodgates were opening - and MB would have handled it better - he would not have been screaming at their own f***ing fan and then throwing the ball to the backstop...
  15. I don't rerspect Cuban as owner. He is all show biz and mouth as far as I can see. Dallas hasn't finished any season significantly different than the Sox have. In the last six years, we have finished 3rd once, 2nd four times, and 1st once. If MLB had a playoff system like the NBA, we'd have made the playoffs every year. The Sox and the Mavs have the same thing to show for it all: nothing. Cuban is a man who likes his toys close. I wouldn't trust him not to move the team at all. He is also a made for ESPN type of owner - gives great visuals. It takes more than that to impress me. We had a Cuban type owner twice, named Veeck. A great guy, a real buddy, and lots of fun, who traded away our futures a lot. If I want a show, I will go to the movies or the circus. I am not speaking for JR right now, just saying, Cuban is lots of smoke and mirrors and that is all there is. But he does give great video.
  16. and all those NBA championships Dallas has won, right, tell us our future under Cuban would be so different? let alone an out of state owner might have designs on moving the team
  17. personally, I think mark Cuban would be a lousy owner all that mouth and show off and that is all there is to that scene

oh exactly right, CK - only those who have been to autopsies know how cleaned up the tv version is and how odor-deprived the tv experience is the human body stinks its amazing we all live in bodies that upon death can smell so putrid

it is why I left MLB too please stay it will calm down, it is just Mars is close to earth and the cubs are in the playoffs and Destiny's Child will probably never reunite please if you stay I'll vote for a republican in the next election there is no greater asking I can do than that...

In the interest if full disclosure and because I am sick in innuendo and slurs, I will state that maybe 6 months to a year ago abo began using his picture as his avatar. Not the same pic as now, but a picture of him. I PMed him and suggested that if that was indeed a picture of him, he should consider a modeling career, at least part time, as a way to pick up some extra money. The law office that I work for, we have many clients who do modeling part time for Sears, KMart, Meijers, and other companies. A good friend, Jack Cook, made enough money at it to put 3 children through college and take his wife on a nice 50th anniversary cruise. I am sick until death at the evil minds of some people here. If suggesting that someone has the capabilitries of doing modeling is considered some sort of perversion then we are in a really sad state. I also think Steff could model. Does that make me a rapist? I suppose anyone who posts a picture of an ahtlete in their signature means they are "queer" for that athlete? Anyone who calls an an athelte a "stud" is homosexually involved with that athlete? Anyone who says "name of athlete" is "my man" is a sexual predator? Read some of the posts about male atheletes in this forum with the same dirty minds that some apply to other things. We can carry all off this to ridiculous extremes. Oh wait, we have already. Excuse me while I go throw up.

been to autopsies - what you won't get on tv is the realization how ugly body fat is, the delicate colors of the organs, and the smell - oh the smell - the smell.
