May be the best thing ever, Frank thinking of KW every time he comes to bat - put it on the boards, yes!
-
that is a strange contract but what the hell- guiess whose back, back again, Frank is back, tell a friend, guess whose back, guess whose back, guess whose back, guess whose back, guess whose back - Eminem fans will catch the musical reference... which may be appropriate because for some reason during the cubs series they kept playing Em music when Frank came to bat - maybe he's a fan? That was the only series that I heard that though.

sideshowapu, you are alright! Keep on keeping on - and allow me once to enjoy from the sidelines, but you are doing a great job!
-
may you and everyone come home safe and sound

kieth foulke chimes in on williams - maybe we should get JB
cwsox replied to baggio202's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I would, big time. At his best he never gave us more than 1/2 a season. Way too inconsistent. And if he is free now, that means that the Sox, LA with its brilliant GM Danny Evans, and Seattle have all sent him on. Baggs and I disagree one this so I will start the countdown until he posts back about what a great guy JB is - I will miss the first season that we have when bags and I don't have a few laughs discussing JB! -
Yes. You are. Enquiring minds want to know.

HOLY FUCKIN SHIT!!!!!!!! NEW COMISKEY RENOVATION PICS!!!!!
cwsox replied to Cali's topic in Pale Hose Talk
thanks for the link and I love the updates but am I missing something - where are the ramps? It looks like only ramp for ingress and egress to the upper deck and that would not be enough - what do have now, 3 or 4? -
Good to see yolu here! I will be at SoxFest, would not miss it for anything. I kind of figured that PK would be your new fave, and a good choice, too! And I am glad to see someone posting good stuff about Billy Koch. I like the trade more and more as I reflect on it and it sounds like this guy will fit right in. I wish it were baseball already. Who needs Christmas, who needs Valentines Day, skip it all and lets go right to baseball!

And the next generation hotsoxchick emerges, the women who know baseball and know the Sox...
-
Other than a division opponent, it would only be at most 3 games a year - so not enough fear factor for KW, unfortunately. I really like the trade today the more I think about it, but I am really unhappy about the prospect of losing Frank.
-
3 games in LA the first weekend in June. The thought of Frank being at Comiskey wearing another AL uniform thinking about KW while at bat scares me.
-
I have absolutely nothing to say. I just wanted to say Unfoulkenbelievable one last time. Unfoulkenbelievable What we yell now - if Billy does well, do we yell at the other team "Suck our Koch"? if Billy blows a save, do we say, "f***ing Koch sucker?" Actually the possibilities are endless. And scary.
-
could be, could well be. I don't think Evans is as gosh darn wonderful as the KW detractors make him out to be. If we lose Frank, which would anger me a lot, I'd rather see him in the NL so we don't have to be reminded as often, or have Frank take it out on us.

Very possibly true. John Dyce, new poster, please know that when HotSoxChick talks White Sox baseball, it is as if God said it personally. She knows more baseball than anyone. And John Dyce, welcome to this site. You got to be a smart guy because you came here and not to the MLB board.

Hell yeah it was a bulls*** rumor. HSC said it would happen Monday and it didn't happen until Tuesday. The lying b****... PS: Did anyone catch in the initial post in tnis thread that is was stated that we would trade FOR Kruk... since Kruk WAS a White Sox player, the jab in that post went way awry.

It is almost 2003. This is progress. I guess. At least we have no pictures.

Yes, but that won't happen. The bowl system has been around for a 100 years and too much money at stake. The bowls will always be there, and you can't have bowls and playoffs. I am a big fan of GVSU which is going for the Division II national title so I see the playoffs close up. The decision was made Monday where next saturday's playoff game is. Easy to do for GVSU and N. Colorado, because how fans will actually travel and the money stakes are not there, the playoff game is not designed to promote local commerce. But the bowls are. I got my email from Michigan today to buy my Outback Bowl tickets. It does take the big schools a month to go to a bowl game because of the size of the teams, staffs, bands, and to promote the game to sell the tickets that make bowls viable. And the bowls are essential to the wining and dining of the big donors to the big schools. Not so with the Divuision IAA, II, or III playoffs. Not a part of the lifestyle. Get rid of the bowls and you can have playoffs, but you will never eliminate the bowls. And the bowls will never agree to become playoff hosts. The amount of money that flows to the bowl host of a good bowl is far, far, far, far more than what will flow to whoever hosts the Division IAA, II, or III playoffs. In an ideal world, yes. In reality, no.

It really was sad that the presiden ts - not the ADs or coaches - added the 12th game to make $$$. From what I read, the coaches and ADs don't like the 12th game - what with the "pre season bowls" and the league playoffs and post season bowls look at how long the season is and the injury factor goes way up. Side note: the BCS football schools are dominating the Final 4 of the NCAA basketball tourney. All that bowl money is being used to support basketball. I read that the past four years the only nonBCSFinal Four team was UConn and they have since joined the Big East. Not just the Gonzagas are being frozen out here - Memphis and Louisville and Cincinnati are too. And the BCS schools made it so a 4 loss Florida State is guaranteed an Orange or Sugar bowl bid (champ of the ACC) while USC or Iowa may still yet be not offered a BCS bid, depending on what happens next Saturday.
-
I'm not in favor of a playoff This is supposed to be college football and the season goes on too long already. I liked the old system. So what if we had two champions - gave us something to talk about. There is way too much money floating out there and too long of a season.

GO TO HELL MICHIGAN STATE!!!! I thought we were friends. I may have to totally reconsider cheering for Illinois State.
-
Michigan beat Washington which beat Washington State which beat USC. Gonna rank us better than USC? How Iowa State lost to UConn is a mystery but they were a top 10 team and Iowa-ISU is a bitter in state rivalry so I don't hold that early season loss against Iowa. Iowa sure as hell got better as the year went on and didn't have all the close ones that a lot of other top teams had, they won convincingly. Just my worthless opinion.
-
I agree that OSU would beat Miami, IMHO. Michigan WHICH BEAT PENN STATE AGAIN AS WE DO EVERY SEASON and Penn State are going to the Citrus Bowl now Capital One Bowl and the Outback Bowl. But no one knows which yet. UM has been to the Citrus a lot recently, 3 of last 4, 99, 01, and 02. haven't been to the Outback since 97. Michigan should go to the Citrus again but the bowl has the option of going PSU because they want new tourists. Both teams will always get a good bowl since we travel well, as they say.
-
Thank you! I saw Iowa play in Ann Arbor and I watched a lot of OSU on tv tring to scout them and then of course when we played them. My opinion is shared by others who have had the same experience of seeing Iowa live and OSU in person or on tv. Iowa is better than OSU. Defense very close but Iowa slightly better. Offense: Iowa blows OSU off the field. If OSU plays Miami, I will predict an OSU win. They play the type of game that Miami does not see much of and are physical to hold their own. Miami has won some close ones too, they are not unbeatable. Based on today's BCS, very hard to see Iowa sneaking into the Fiesta. Washington St. still has to play UCLA, right? and that means that one team wins and one teams loses that USC played and shouldn't affect their BCS scoring that much, not enough to drop them below an idle Iowa if Miami and Georgia both lose next Saturday.

I wouldn't live in Columbus for anything. And way too far away. Network. Talk to everyone as was suggested. And keep on keeping on as HSC said. Best of luck! In the alternative, dump the current boyfriend and get hitched up with PK who could afford now to put you up for a while while you look for a new job...
