  1. We need a minivan now. The only one I can dig is the 2011 Odyssey, but I didn't want to purchase new. Honda usually holds their value, but uggh...they are expensive. Still debating.
  2. Captain Serious is back tonight. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=347883
  3. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Dec 21, 2010 -> 07:17 PM) . . . oh my. This made even me blush. Rex Ryan is quite a raunch-merchant. Now this is embarrassing. New York media will eat him alive. I have no problem with the distractions coming up this week.
  4. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 21, 2010 -> 03:31 PM) Could have meant long-term. The team is done this year, why not give a rookie some experience? If that's what he meant I would totally agree. Frasier, is fighting for a job though and he wants to win.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 21, 2010 -> 03:15 PM) Um, did you miss the drives following that leading up to his injury? Yep...not much happened. The tipped pass by Melton and pick by Peppers. Great defensive play. Other than that, they ran the ball alot. I suppose you can blame Favre for the shotgun snap 3 feet over his head. He was 3-4 for 29 yds. That current Vikes team is better with Favre than without. That's all. I hate to defend the guy...I really do. I grew up watching him kill my favorite team time and time again. I hate the media hype over him and the oh look how he just loves the game crap. But he's a tough SOB and can throw the ball. He's no longer a big time threat, but he's better than fricken Webb.
  6. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 21, 2010 -> 03:07 PM) That was also after the injury, again. The guy's a drama queen doucher who wants nothing more than the spotlight on himself. Sure, he loves to play football, but people say it like it's a burden on the rest of the NFL players. They're unwillingly getting paid millions to play football. Give me a f***ing break. Brett Favre is the unhuman piece of s*** for bringing all this attention on himself. I hope he plays another 10 years so I can watch him get pummeled every weekend and watch his once-great legacy get completely tarnished. He's not a "warrior" for coming back and playing through an injury. He's an idiot. And a selfish one at that. That team is going NOWHERE and having him on the field DID NOT help the team. Um, did you miss the first drive of the game?
  7. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Dec 21, 2010 -> 02:33 PM) I didn't mean to post it directly at you, you just happened to post the picture. I've seen numerous threads on bears.scout.com, chicagobears.com, etc...of people saying how they celebrated Favre's injury, and that him being injured was the play of the game, etc...and how they were hoping he'd get taken out, broken in half, or otherwise. I didn't mean to single you out in my example of what I hate about some sports fans...seeing as I directly replied to your post, I see why you think that, so I apologize. Minor misunderstanding. Thanks.
  8. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Dec 21, 2010 -> 02:10 PM) You can laugh it off all you want, but what's it say about you that you feel that way? I mean, honestly...wishing that upon anyone is just...it makes you a bad person, and if that's what sports brings out of you, you need to not watch them. How is a body outline of someone, AFTER they were injured = Wishing they get hurt. You're way off base here...especially with me, since you have no idea of my feelings for the Bears or Favre.
  9. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Dec 21, 2010 -> 11:29 AM) This picture really is great. I wish Urlacher had sacked him.
  10. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 17, 2010 -> 10:16 AM) Or...how about when Kerry Wood didn't settle for less money 2 years ago when he decided to LEAVE the Cubs and go to Cleveland for a 2 yr/$20M deal. So, Wood is an amazing guy for leaving $2M on the table to sign with the Cubs, but the $8M or whatever he would have sacrificied to stay in Chicago and not go to Cleveland was not worth it? Seems funny to me that he can leave for more money, and then come back 2 years later and would praised for coming back to his roots. It's not like he was TRADED to Cleveland. lol, I'm sorry, it's just so stupid to me so see Rosenthal hail Kerry Wood for this and claim how touching this is. I do applaud Kerry for going back where he started, and for taking less money, but it's hardly "touching". I don't follow much about the Cubs, but wasn't Wood hurt a lot. Maybe he signed for a little less, because he knows he didn't earn all the cash he previously received . The other thing is he's clearly comfortable in this city and his family is here. Nothing really touching about it...just practical.
  11. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 10, 2010 -> 03:53 PM) Dunkin Donuts? Snuggery. I would pass on it.
  12. I could be down for this. Close to union station works for me.
  13. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 24, 2010 -> 11:39 AM) Droid Incredible free plus a $25 Dell gift card. EVO $49, EPIC 89 with new 2-yr contract at Walmart online or store At walmart, Sprint phone EVO is $149 - $100 Walmart gift card = $49 EPIC is $189 - $100 Walmart gift card = $89 requires new 2- year contract. Promotion ends 11:59 pm November 25, 2010 Dam. So I'm gettin the EVO for $49...and my wife's intercept is $19.99 and also comes with 100 gift card...so they're paying you $80 for that phone. There is a $25 coupon code and free activation on both phones. So I'm billed right now $144.98 but receiving $200.00 in gift cards. so basically they are paying me $55.02 to buy the phones there.
  14. Anybody buy their phone through Amazon wireless? The prices can't be beat. Evo is $99($199 in store), Epic is $99($249 in store), every other phone they have for Sprint is .01. I called and spoke with them and asked if there are phone issues, does it have to be shipped back or can you take it to the store. She said you would take it to a Sprint store. Basically the only time you will send it back to them is if you're cancelling within 30 days or want to switch phones within 30 days. They also are waving activation fees Nov 23rd - Nov 30th. I called Sprint store and asked him if they would price match and he said no. I asked him what benefit do I have in buying from your store over Amazon and all he had was...well if there's a problem with the phone in the first 30 days and you have to send it back, you might be without a phone for a week. With the holidays coming up, you don't want that. Am I missing something here? I'm saving $150 bucks if I get the epic and I can get my wife a lower end smart phone for .01 I'm just thinking there has to be a catch somewhere. Any experience from anyone here?
  15. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 19, 2010 -> 09:09 AM) Here we go again, Palin from her new book America by Heart: haha...That's exactly what she said. How dare she use Mrs Obama's own words against her. Now I'm not rooting for Palin here, I hope she is not seeking the presidency, but you libs are out of control. Let it go. It's unbelievable how tingly she makes you all feel.
  16. http://abcnews.go.com/Travel/tsa-responds-...ory?id=12208932 "The woman who checked me reached her hands inside my underwear and felt her way around," she said. "It was basically worse than going to the gynecologist. It was embarrassing. It was demeaning. It was inappropriate." "She put her full hand on my breast and said, 'What is this?' I said 'It's a prosthesis because I've had a breast cancer,'" Bossi said. "And she said, 'You'll need to show me that.'"
  17. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 21, 2010 -> 05:16 PM) When was the last time that there were three Caucasian halfbacks that played atleast semi-prominent roles in the NFL? Hillis is obviously a monster, Woodhead just scored again and has been a great player for New England, and Gerhart has been a pretty solid backup in Minnesota, even if he is backing up one of the best running backs in the league. Well this may get thrown in the buster, but I came across this article the other day. Cleveland Browns Peyton Hillis: Heisman Candidate or Blocking Fullback?
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 22, 2010 -> 12:23 PM) Blowing yourself up on a plane takes out somewhere between 100-300 people because it's a confined space. Doing so in a line maybe gets you 20-50, if you have a giant amount of explosives. We're not all standing in line at McGhee Tyson. 20-50 people at O'hare would be a short line.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 22, 2010 -> 11:08 AM) The flaw in that logic is that it assumes that the amounts of money spent on the 2 sides are comparable. I'd be willing to bet that the costs of improving intelligence overseas are much, much more substantial than the costs of these machines, no matter how much Secretary Chertoff is making on them. If the machines produce small gains in security for small increases in costs, while better overseas intelligence has the potential to produce large gains in security but requires large increases in costs, now you've got a much more complicated question. Look the main thing that needs to be prevented is using the plane as a missle. That has been addressed with more secure cockpit doors as well as a more prepared group of passengers and FA's. If that is taken out of the equation, the chance for mass casualties is very limited. A terrorist can inflict more damage a number of other ways and blowing yourself up in line at the airport would be one of those ways....as would doing it in a stadium or a train station or a mall or something. Strong security is needed and I'm usually all for doing things in the name of safety, but molestation is not one of them...this is just out of whack.
  20. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 22, 2010 -> 09:54 AM) Why Cavity Bombs Would Make the TSA Irrelevant QFT Terrorists do not need to hijack a plane, or blow one up in mid-air, to wreak havoc on civilian air travel and the American economy: All a terrorist needs to do to bring the American transportation system to a catastrophic halt is to detonate a bomb while waiting on a TSA line. No need to conceal such a bomb in your rectum, of course -- you could join the pre-screened line with a bomb in your knapsack. Or in a shopping bag. Where does all this lead? Back to the observation -- again, one made incessantly in this space -- that by the time a terrorist conspiracy matures to the point that it is ready for execution, it is, generally speaking, too late to stop it. If a cavity bomber reaches the airport without detection, he will have a high-likelihood of success in carrying out his mission. Which means, obviously, that much of the money we spend on airport security could be better spent on intelligence collection, and on the breaking up of terror cells overseas.
  21. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 19, 2010 -> 12:53 PM) It kind of is right. He's usually the smartest guy in the room, but he acts like he knows that, so he comes off as aloof and not connected to the reality of most Americans. Its the flip side of the problem with Bush, who felt much more like the everyday person, and therefore could connect with Americans better. Brilliant my ass!!
  22. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 19, 2010 -> 12:57 PM) A great read on the subject. EDIT: This gem was embedded in the article. Indeed.
  23. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 18, 2010 -> 11:41 AM) Yeah I know, like I said, its all very subjective. But, I agree with Rex when he says that labeling a billion followers of Islam, just as with labeling millions of followers of Christianity/Catholicism/Judaism/Hinduism/Buddhism, as the same as being in the Westboro group and/or a cult, is insulting, inaccurate, and inappropriate. Alpha made an off color comment. He never compared the two religions or said Islam is the same as Westboro, he just said 2 cults in, 1 cult out. Might have been in poor taste, but I just took at as a joke. Considering he made it in the Republican Thread, I think it was fine and certainly not worthy of this threat for violating rules. I would think that rule is more in line with saying...every muslim is a terrorist, every catholic priest is a pedophile...etc... It was a silly comment....he didn't come in here ranting ALL OF ISLAM IS A CULT. The Islam cult/religion debate has gone on, so I'd say it's a far cry from -- "hyperbolic statements that are so far over the top, that no resonable response of discussion can follow them."
