QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 28, 2010 -> 04:19 PM) You a pretty big guy? Reason I ask is that I have an EVO and it's a bigger smart phone but feels perfect in my large hands. And the phone is an absolute monster. 4G speeds are ridiculous. Android is highly customizable too if you're the kind of person that likes to tinker. It doesn't have a physical keyboard. I was worried about that coming from a BB but using swype blows away any smart phone physical keyboard. I was thinking I would like the optional keyboard so I was looking at the Epic or the BB torch. The only pro I see for the BB is our BES and not worrying about any exchange integration. I've seen a few people use swype...it looks pretty cool. Does it take some getting used to? I have 2 friends that love the iphone and 2 that hated it and got rid of it. I also have a lot of attorneys that returned it right away. Network coverage seems like I'd be ok with Verizon or AT&T. Sprint I'm not sure about. Thanks all for the feedback.

QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Oct 28, 2010 -> 11:38 PM) There's no way I'm going to be mean to her. She's a nice girl and she means well. I just want her to make a decision about talking to me or not. If she doesn't want to talk because her boyfriend says so (which is a stupid idea anyway) then don't talk to me. I do want to talk to her and keep something of a friendship going, but I also need to move and and I am moving on, but it doesn't help when she randomly texts me about things that remind her of me. Because then I want to randomly text her about stuff, but I'm going to hold back. But yeah, I definitely won't allow myself to be that backup guy like you're saying. Haha I'm glad someone else has just about the exact same problem as I have. Every time you respond to her texts, you are being that backup guy. She picked him...that should be enough for you to not be interested. If it isn't, picture her choking on his johnson. She made the decision...you just don't want to accept it. I know it sucks and it's hard...but cut the cord. Get back out there and get a girl that doesn't have to ask herself if she wants to talk to you or not. Halloween weekend dude...go get yourself a sexy nurse or something.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 28, 2010 -> 02:34 PM) Such open ended questions! What're you looking for? How much will you pay? etc. Not really worried about price for the device. most of em don't seem too bad if you're a new customer and unless everyone here tells me to stay with T-Mobile...I'll be a new customer. I have an old BB through work that is only for data. Then I have a fricken Razr as my phone. So I always have to carry around 2 devices. I finally got the approval to buy my own device and just have the firm reimburse me up to $50.00 for the data plan each month. Not sure if I should stay with BB or go with an Android based phone. Also I will probably get a family plan...so me and my wife can both get on something. Thanks for any help!

QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Oct 28, 2010 -> 12:27 AM) I want to see what the consensus is with this. Last night I met a chick. She showed interest (caught her looking at me a few times before we talked, smiling at me frequently, when we actually met she asked me a bunch of questions, etc). We talked for a little while. Then she kinda just leaves and we only talk a little bit after that. I took that as her interest in me went down and that was that. I didn't ask her for her number. I thought I did the right thing by not pursuing her further and didn’t really second guess myself after because of the way she left, but a friend told me I should've asked for her number because she was interested and that guys have to make the move. I didn't because lately I've been thinking if a girl wants to see me again she will continue talking to me and give me some sort of an opening to ask her for her number. Her leaving sort of abruptly made me think she didn’t want to see me again so I didn't ask. So, was I right for not pursuing her or do you think my friend was right and I should’ve? I’ll keep the responses in mind for future reference… Only you know the vibe you were getting...but I say if you liked her...you should have asked for her number....or went with something like...if I answer all of your questions now, what are we gonna do the next time we see each other? Be confident. Now I don't really know what signs she was giving you or how the convo was going. Hopefully you were asking some stuff too and not just sitting there giving answers. I don't even know where you were or if she had friends there. Maybe she left because she wasn't interested or maybe she was getting back to her friends.

Here's another article for you...not that I agree with it, because now I see what this is all about the big bad rich people are benefitting. The higher your tax rate the more you benefit. I can tell you I use it. My company allows you to put as much as 5,000 in there and if you have kids or are pregnant...you'll use a lot. Weekly prenatal visits, delivery charges, hospital stay charges, frequent well visits, etc. The first year with a baby the costs are outrageous and if your plan has a 'preventitive care' limit you'll hit that after the first shots and newborns are getting shots all dam year. I've never done the whole amount, and yes it sucks with the 'use it or lose it', but you kind of have to plan ahead. We mostly use it for co-pays, deductables, eye exams, dental, etc...so I don't see the OTC thing affecting us too much, but I can definitely see it affecting other people. Also, if you need some filler to get to the amount you put in, it's nice to be able to use it on Antacids, Allergy & sinus medication, Pain relievers/aspirin, Cough & cold medications, Ointments & creams for joint pain...etc. I don't see any reason to get rid of it except more tax money. The 3 things this lady lists as being wrong are not really a problem for me. The 4th, is the same tired point your liberal blog makes, evil rich people benefit. 1) The paperwork. Yes you have to fill out a form and fax it in. So what...if you're saving $56 bucks on $200, it's worth it. 2)The time it wastes. Once again..yes you have to fill out a form oh and she throws in the time to deposit the check you get back.. Huge inconvenience there. 3) Money gets wasted cause people forget about it. Well that's on the people themselves. This is a way for you to keep somne of the money you earned...if you're using the plan...pay attention to it. 4) The fairness issue. Only certain kinds of employers offer flex spending programs at all. Some 85 percent of large companies have the benefit; estimates are harder to find for smaller companies and small businesses. Certain employees, such as office workers, are more likely to have the time to file the paperwork at their workplace. And people with the highest incomes benefit the most from this program, since they face the highest tax rates.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 21, 2010 -> 05:41 PM) Well, other than the "deck" comment, that sort of rough stuff actually isn't uncommon with reporters. Still kind of lousy though, that he was blocked out like that. I was actually impressed with the way Emmanuel handled it though. Impressed??? All he did was totally ignore someone.... -

QUOTE (WsoxKillCubs @ Oct 13, 2010 -> 10:35 PM) It's not an over-reaction, Keith and Seabrook are racking up minutes because we have no defensemen... thus, "long season." In no way did I mean it's going to be a long, losing, and terrible season. I think we just define that phrase differently... I think you define that phrase differently then pretty much anyone. -

QUOTE (The Critic @ Sep 28, 2010 -> 05:20 PM) Lost in this debate is the fact that the Stanley Cup is the most s***tily engraved trophy in all of sports. That engraving looks like a left-handed monkey engraved it right-handed. Look at Kris Versteeg's name - damn! I read they misspelled Steegers name. They had it as Vertseeg. Then they fixed it...prolly why it looks a little jacked up. -
So are you arguing that it isn't a plant or that it just doesn't make sense to you? After reading a little it looks like the fundraiser is being done to bust Madigan. The Law states: Any individual, trust, partnership, committee, association, corporation, or any other organization or group of persons which receives or spends more than $3,000 on behalf of or in opposition to a candidate or question of public policy, meets the definition of a political committee and must comply with all provisions of the Illinois Campaign Financing Act, including the filing of campaign disclosure reports. If the Illinois GOP can raise $3000, a campaign committee has to be formed and they need to file appropriate campaign disclosure reports. I think this will force Mr Ryan out of hiding or at least get more information out.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 24, 2010 -> 08:40 AM) 1. Kass has been on a singular crusade - Daley - for quite some time. Now with Daley retiring, he's looking for new targets. I'd be cautious what you take from his writing. 2. Whether or not a Latino candidate, or anyone else, was nominated by the GOP, doesn't really matter. And if it did, the GOP would make sure to expose some fake candidate anyway. There is no motivation on Madigan's part to do this, so, why the ruse? Conspiracy theories are only believable if the conspirators actually get something out of the conspiracy. Madigan gains nothing from this, and could lose something, so it makes no sense. You can say what you want about Kass. You can say it doesn't matter if the GOP didn't nominate anyone. You can also say it makes no sense. I don't have the answers...I don't follow the s*** all that much. But if you had a neighbor, running for state rep...you would know. If you were running for state rep...you would make it known. Your parents would be proud and spouting off your talking points. Your face would be out there. Your credentials. If he started working for the city straight out of H.S., I'm assuming he didn't go to college. Is he even fit to run for office? I don't really know the reason for a plant, maybe just to waste money? I just know this stinks to high heaven and whether it came from Kass or Mary Mitchell, it's typical Chicago politics. Same kind of stuff that happened to my buddy when they put a plant in the primary to get him to spend his money. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=75895 It even discusses in the article linked how "In 2002, McCarthy faced a Republican named Joel Herrick who also didn't lift a finger to campaign. In fact, he avoided publicity. What does that tell you?" Byplacing someone on the ballot, the Democrats dissuade credible Republicans from jumping into the race. It's legal, of course, but dishonest. Unethical. Incumbents shouldn't need these silly training wheels. Let them face voters on their own. By the way, if you live in the 37th district, please consider my friend Jeff. http://jeffjunkas.com/

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 24, 2010 -> 07:39 AM) More likely, the GOP didn't farm out looking for a candidate, because, what's the point? But some guy, a Republican apparently, decided on his own to take a shot. So here he is. John Kass wrote a good article on this yesterday. "Cynical me. I wondered if Ryan was a Madigan plant, an easy setup, taking space on the ballot so the warlord of Madiganistan wouldn't have a Latino opponent in the increasingly Hispanic district on the Southwest Side." "Hoping to meet with the elusive Patrick John Ryan myself, I got up before dawn and drove to the 4300 block of West 78th Street, where he lives with his parents, according to state records. A Democratic pol warned me that my search would be futile. "Now that you're looking for this Ryan kid, Mike will have him buried in some office and you'll never see him," he said. Now, that's cynical. I figured the neighborhood would be festooned with "Vote for Ryan!" signs, maybe even some banners declaring: "P.J. in the House!" But there were no signs on his block. Not even in front of his own home. Not one measly little sign." "We said our goodbyes, and I didn't even mention the lack of lawn signs. But I did tell them I planned to talk to the neighbors. "He's a wonderful young man, very kind, nice to everybody," said neighbor Mary Jo Bardan, who owns her own business. "His mom and dad are great. We call his dad the mayor of the block. He organizes all the block parties." And the son? "P.J. went to St. Rita," Bardan said. "And he started working for the city when he got out of high school." So what do you think of him challenging Boss Madigan in the November election? "What?" she asked. "He's running? Running for what?"

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Sep 20, 2010 -> 10:22 AM) I have two daughters 2 years old and younger. I'm not allowed to have a hobby right now. If I DID have time for hobbies, it would be pretty much anything electronics/computers and video games. Unfortunately, my dad wasnt much of a "handy man", so I never really learned much about cars, house maintenance, or gardening/backyard care. In the same boat. I have a house, 2 cars, a wife, 2 daughters(4 & 2) and one more kid on the way. That pretty much monopolizes my free time. Responsibility creeps up on you and then strangles you!!!! Watching the kids grow up is a pretty cool hobby though. I love to golf....been out only once in the last 2 years and that was for my friends bach party last year. The problem is my friends are all in the same boat. So it's hard to find time when a few guys can all get free on a weekend. We can usually all get free at night, so we get together usually once a month, go to a bar and watch the games. Play some Golden tee, since we never get out on a real course. Watching the Sox, Bears and Hawks are my hobbies. Even if I can't get to the games, I can watch them, read about them, come on here and write about em.

Well she does have 3 kids. Twins last year before these pics, but man...not good. She needs a little meat. I love the caption on that site..."her torso looks like the underbelly of a dragon."
