  1. QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 02:36 PM) so now anytime someone gets out of a jam, should it be compared to what El Duque did? Just to clarify for everyone The announcers made the comment before Santana was out of the jam. They said it after he got his second out and they were just talking about how it's reminiscent of el duques performance the other night, except this jam was of santana's own doing. IMO it was a poor comparison...but hey when you're an annnouncer and you have to be talking so fast without being able to think things through...this stuff happens. They both had to get 3 tough outs...that's the only comparison, but I can see somewhat of a relation so that's what came out of Buck's mouth. Mistake??...yeah, I think so, but nothing to get upset about. I'd like to see a lot of people here behind a mic talking off the cuff instead of thinking through what you're typing. We'd have a hell of a lot more mistakes let alone an exaggeration.
  2. QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) What pisses me off is what I heard. I was told (I didnt watch most of the game) that Santana put two people on during one of the innings, and then proceded to get out of it unscatched, and the announcers said something like "Thats just like what El Duque did for the White Sox the other night!". Again, I didnt see it myself, but if its true, its bulls***. That's exactly what they said, but they added Santana got into this mess himself whereas el duque had to clean up someone elses mess. Still it was no where near what el duque did. 1st and 2nd with no outs and I believe a 3 run lead is a helluva lot different from bases juiced no outs 1 run lead. I mean a fly out and the game is tied in duques situation...hell even a well placed ground ball could have scored a run. Santana had some wiggle room.
  3. Can someone put together a power point presentation for me? With a bunch of pictures from the season. We play a loop of chicago sights and such in our reception area in a continuous loop. My boss said If I can get a white sox montage I can play that all the time. Edit: Forgot to mention it's on a 42" plasma so the better quality photos are the best. Thanks!!!
  4. Hopefully, it doesn't become a factor, but I wanted Brandon in the ALDS and the ALCS with Viz being the one to take a seat. Lets not even make it an issue!! GO SOX!!!!!!!
  5. QUOTE(thatballhitdeep @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 12:18 PM) I guess green means sarcasm..... then my last post should have been green sorry. usually oklahoma is represented on TV and things by the worst possible people. Don't think that we are all like that. Hey you're a sox fan...so you're fine by me!!
  6. Dam we always called it "1P" and "2P", but I guess 'dirty champs' works. If I can leave work at 3. I can hopefully make it to Champs by 4:15.
  7. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 09:56 AM) I was at the game on the councourse in left field. We couldn't believe it. I literally high-fived so many people that my hand was numb. We were high-fiving the ushers, the cops, the beer men. And it continued when we put the game away. Everybody went nuts. Nobody was leaving, everybody was just running around screaming. You could hear people roaring from the Cell still a half hour after the game as they were filing out. Amazing. Couldn't even get in to Jimbo's--forget it. It was awesome. That ranks up there with AJ's Dodgers walkoff homer with one of the most unforgettable moments. I was on concourse in right field and we had a pile up going on....everyone jumping on our one friend who is like 6'3 and a big boy... High fiving everyone and just going ballastic. I was actually in the same spot for AJ's with the same group of guys...I didn't think that could be topped, but yesterday did it!!!!
  8. Well since pitching will still be the determining factor in our success next year... "Armed and Dangerous" Defending the Title
  9. Where can I get the picture with wells and tadahito without the own3d?
  10. Last Night was awesome!!! It was bedlam on the right field concourse when gooch hit that bomb. It was like a mosh pit...everyone jumping on each other high fiving everyone....it was nuts!! Then hanging on every pitch from there on out. Everyone screaming at the top of their lungs. Man it was a wild one...
  11. Anybody know if it was it open to fans yesterday??
  12. QUOTE(bighurt2719 @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 10:23 AM) that graph up there doesnt make sense. how can you graph the probablilty of a win? anything can happen in baseball. i'd like to see the graph from the steve bartman game. WHo could havbe ever predicted what happened after that foul ball? that graph is worthless. So do like writers use those so they can start writing articles on a game before they are over??
  13. QUOTE(dmbjeff @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 01:50 PM) they took it over before? in 2000 or do u mean for the all star game? Allstar game. I heard there were people calling up radio cause they been there since 6 am waiting just to find out mlb took it over. I don't see why mlb needs the BP bar. They take enough seats.
  14. Did mlb take it over again?
  15. I have tickets for tomorrow and it looks like rain all day and night
  16. QUOTE(rowandrules83 @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 12:26 AM) funny thing about gammons...he was also on dan patrick this afternoon and picked the red sox to win. patrick even pointed it out later how he picked two teams to win the same series I just read that in the paper this morning. What a jackass.
  17. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 01:37 PM) I don't get off until 3:30 FWIW, so I won't be down until at least 3:40 or so. I'll prolly be more like 4:15...how do I find the soxtalk crew...anyone wearing sox gear that will stand out.
  18. QUOTE(3E8 @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 11:38 AM) Rowand does get bad jumps. Remember that awesome catch he made on Belliard yesterday? That happened because his broke backwards first. His range isn't poor and how could anybody say Pods has a plus arm? Rowand gets bad jumps at balls hit right at him as do most outfielders. He has excellent range to the left or right. He has shown all year his ability to read the ball off the bat and get in position to make the catch as well as get in position to make the catch and then throw.
  19. Well I'm pretty down about this. I wanted BMAC there. I know he wouldn't be ready til game 3, but that's exactly when I think we'll need him. The guy I wanted left off was Viz, which I was pretty sure wasn't going to happen, but a guy could hope. Ozzie talked about riding the hot hand in the playoffs, so I thought it was possible. It's easy to see that BMAC is a superior overall pitcher than Viz and he showed he can handle the pressure.
  20. Original location of "Anatomy of a Photograph" with an Update Also some other pictures from the rally. Pics

  22. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 09:39 AM) The biggest question to me is will someone be able to get to somewhere like Alcotts earlier enough to get a table? Tuesday is Rosh Hashanah so that will definitely lessen the people in the downtown area. I will probably be standing anyway cause I can't get there till after 4:00.
