NBA Trade thread
Gene Honda Civic replied to Gene Honda Civic's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
So who's the winners in all of these... I have to admit, I'm pretty stupid when it comes to the NBA. I liked Philly's move last night, but what does this next one do? WTF? is up with Isiah? How smart is the San Anton GM? whoever that is? Ainge=Kenny Williams? How many more times does Van Horne get traded on his career? -

QUOTE(winodj @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 01:57 PM) I just read Running with Scissors. Augusten Burroughs is a very talented writer. I read about half of that too.. I checked them both out fromt he Library, and started with RwS(it's first chronologically), but I was getting a little depressed reading about his Childhood. He told it well, it was humourous, but not what I was lookin to read at that time. I put it down and picked up Which I recommend also. Dry was much more up my alley.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 02:02 PM) I'm still trying to figure out why his hands are in that position. That doesn't make any sense. Just a fielding drill. He's just flipping the ball to collection area I'm assuming. Either that or he is at 2B, and he's flipping to SS.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 11:47 AM) Which one is the real one? I'm confused. Middle of July.... It was busy around here just b4 midnight last night, so I changed my BDay in a gesture. for some reason it didn't change right away... I posted as late as 2AM, and my new BDay wasn't at the bottom. I just left it because I thought it wasn't going to register.

The Cicero political scene is the only reason I ever watch the local news. It's better than the Sopranos.

QUOTE(Goldmember @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 05:54 PM) Crede looks like he's fixed his swing. click here -- Then watch the three HR clips... I saw a couple of his swings from BP on Sunday night, and now this picture... He looks more balanced. More like the "Crede's three-run" link above, less like the other two HR clips.

I just found a '91 Tops Gene Harris(203) card at work... It looks like it had been kept in somebody's wallet. I don't know why anyone would keep such a thing in their wallet. I'm going to put it in the lost and found. Clearly this is something that someone valued very deeply.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 04:41 PM) If you had a pitcher who had the command and smarts of El Duque, and the stuff of Jose Contreras, you'd have a pretty damn good pitcher. Roger Clemens, maybe? I think that as Pedro loses more of his pure stuff you'll see just how good of a pitcher he really is. I think the future pedro is the best comparison that I can come up with for current Duque. Different arm angles, good movement, changing speeds.

My choice is what I choose to do, and if I'm causin' no harm it shouldn't bother you. Your choice is who you choose to be, and if you're causing no harm, you're alright with me.
