When Kerry first decided to get into politics, he was running for Congress in Lowell, and early polls gave him a 2:1 advantage. Even though he wasn't really from Lowell (he was carpetbaggin') The radically conservative editor/owner of the Sun started running op-ed pieces on Kerry every day in the month leading up to the election, and presented them as fact. Kerry lost by a sizeable margin, and went to law school at BC.

No need to apologize. It's not you that makes it appear improper. The First family of the United States has made a majority of it's wealth via the Oil business, and you can't fart in the president's Cabinet without someone he appointed with connections to Oil/Energy smellin it. If they wanted to avoid the appearence of impropriety, they should have done a better job hiding their ties to the business sector. /I'm not trying to start a flamewar here. I avoid them at all costs.

agreed, Voter Turnout will be at record highs in Ohio, and Florida, states where your vote actually counts, but here in Illinois, where both the presedential race and the Senate race have both been decided months ago, There is a ton of voter apathy. I spent part of the Weekend in Iowa, it was amazing to me the number of political ads that I saw while watching a football game. I don't see more than a couple during a 3 hour game at home.

Rudy, the projections are MLE's, or Major League Equivalents. they basically figure each player individually, as if he were on the big league club for the entire season, which is obviously impossible considering I listed about 40 guys. Also if a pitcher was a starter at the Minor league level it automatically assumes you're going to get some starting opportunities at the big league level... Hence Munoz having 21 starts. We all know he's not going to start another game in a WS uni. He'll be used exclusively out of the pen.

Yeah -- I realized that very early on, though not early enough I suppose, but never figured I would stick with the blog as long as I have, so I didn't change it. fast forward a few months, and the site has a small but loyal following. If I am able to keep up my interest through the off-season, and make it until spring training, I'll dish out the cash for a real site, with a much more user friendly URL. But for right now, I kinda like it the way it is. You can't link to it on some forums. I was turned down for Google's AdSense program because of improper language. It's not like it's a bad word or anything, They said it 140-some times on South Park one episode.

I don't know Why the jury's still out on BD. He's had 1500 ML AB's, and he's .237/.306/.366 -- And Gload just need's to be given a shot... He's a .304 hitter over his minor league career. The guy can flat out hit.

Put him in the Cell and give him 500 AB's, and he'll have at least 20. I can't guarentee what his average will be, but he's got some serious pop (about the same as Borchard)

I don't know the whole process, otherwise I would have detailed it, but he takes a players past few years (majors and Minors) factors in their age, and how simillar players performed across history at the same age. runs a few hundred projections, and takes an average. (most players peak between 27-29, and fall off after about 34) He's not being mean to the sox it's an objective projection... And like I said, I wish I could disagree with the Frank Thomas one...

Just got my daily prospect report in the mail. he's 7-for-50 with 21K's
