Last year Syracuse both won me and lost me NCAA pools.... I didn't have them figured out, I thought their regional was by far the weakest, but I didn't know which syracuse team would show up... I picked Manhattan ove the 'Cuse in one of them, and in the other I had Syracuse in the final four. So I remember that stuff... Like in 2000 when I had Butler in the sweet 16 and were beating Florida, in the opening round, all game, and Mike Miller hit that terrible off-balance runner as time expired... I never forget those. as for Providence... They've been impressive this year... Road wins at Virginia and Conneticut, destroying Illinois on a nuetral court, and a tough overtime loss to Texas, they're going to be a team to watch out for in March. They're the highest ranked Big East team in the RPI.

The most telling thing about the article was it's placement... Imrem could have written that article at anytime during the offseason, but it ran today, right next to an interview with Gallas. At first when I picked up the paper I was like whoa two sox articles on the front page, WOW. But then I realized that the one totally discounted the other. Imrem essentially called Gallas an idiot in not so many words. I'm not impying that the Herald has a bias against the sox like the Cubune does, because they usually give first billing to the team who's playing the best, but by running those two articles on the same day, on the front page, they did an objective job of covering the Sox.

i conceded that a team could get hot, but they did get lucky by getting to face 3 teams from the big 12 who acted as if they had never seen a zone defense... They shouldn't have gotten out of the first round, the refs gave them the victory over manhattan.

I'd be willing to put money on UCONN NOT being able to win six games in a row in march/april... So they are the best team in the country on paper. The whitesox were the best team in the AL central on paper, but they don't play on paper... UCONN has only played 3 road games this season... couple that with thier two biggest in conerece rivals having cupcake schedules (pitt, syracuse) and they aren't going to be as battle tested many other teams in the tourney... Uconn did not play a road game until Jan, 2 Syracuse did not leave the state of NY until Jan 12 Pitt has played only one ranked team(UCONN), 3 road games, and has a SOS ranked 95th... St. Joe's has played as many road games than these three teams combined. The Big East has discovered by gaining 10+ wins before the conference season, then playing .500 ball in conference, a tourney birth is guarenteed. Syracuse and Pitt will both have an early exit from the tourney this year. Uconn will get farther, but that's because of the vast amount of talent they put on the floor. Who know's they could get on a roll, and win those last 6 games, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I like reading Peter King's MMQB... I even like the stuff he includes about his family. Life's not all sports you know.. The only other person who I make sure I read is Rozner, from the Daily Herald. He's obviously a sox fan, and he lets his hatred of Sham-me show right through. A few years ago he had a steroid test set up for sammy, who had come out in favor of testing and said he would be first in line to be tested. Sammy balked, wouldn't take it, and has never talked to Rozner since. Rozner Rocks (i know riley did the same thing... but I don't read SI)

Here's another....Crazy Game If you thought the other wons were addicting... ha... This is the crack of flash games... I'm on level 17 right now... been playing for 8 minutes of game time... I don't know how long this thing goes one for, but its cool Hint: those things only go one direction... The direction they first see you at... so you can control thier direction. At level 20 they have eyes and can chase you.. now i'm never going to bed EDIT:-- So i finally finished, I can sleep now, There are 25 levels, unlimited lives, and score is based off of how long you take to complete all 25 levels, plus a penaltie for how many times you died... I took 21 minutes, but died 97 times..

If E-Lo has remotely the year he did last year, i figure about 17 wins. He'll get at least 3 years... A a minimum of $7 MIL a year... I would be willing to bet that if he had two offers on the table and they were at all comparable, he would take the sox offer. He was given a great chance last year, when nobody else wanted him. I think he's making 4.5Mil this year, so it's not a stretch to give him a 3 year $25-27 MIL contract if he proves he can sustain that over 2 years.

The Cover-2, which is supposedly what the bears are going to be running, is more of a bend but don't break defense. With two safties playing over the top so the other team doesn't "break" one.... I think what rivera is refering to is the way that the LB and D-Line will play. They are going to attack the quarterback, make him make quick descisions. Think about the type of Defense Tampa has been known for over the past 5 years. Remember what the Eagles did to the Bears in the Playoffs in 2001, blitzing on 65%-75% of the plays. I think that is going to be our new defense. I know philly had some great DB's, but they also had to cover guys for less time than did the bears coners. As to your concerns with the defense, specifically Azuma, I think that will be addressed in the draft or free-agency. Even though JA has a hard-on for Kevin Jones, I think he will listen to his coaches, and see the thing that this team needs most is O&D-line help and another cover corner. The offense, with the excetion of the line is there, I think.
