  1. A few years ago they had a 1 lb. burger.... my sister said she buy my meal if I ate the whole thing... I finished it, she couldn't even watch... but the odd thing is I had just a burger, and with tax the bill came to $6.66 Now that's one mean burger.
  2. Wow--- A $5 MIL extension for a guy who can't hit above the mendoza line in Winter Ball --- I should have never gone to college, or HS for that matter. The real money's in light-hitting-weak-fielding-shortstops. I guess it's ok, cuz he's "the heart and soul of the team"
  3. Joe Namath was really drunk at the Jets-Pats game on Saturday night. I missed it because I was feeling less pain than Joe was. Watch the video it's hillarious. The video I love the comments at the very end.
  4. That says all you need to know right there. They just didn't want him to get away without getting anything in return.
  5. Tex- This is about the third time you referenced my post in the mice thread. While it may seem harsh, or not adding to the site, I wish to defend it. My only real crime was not putting it all in green. It was not an attack on winodj. I thought, maybe naively, that what i posted would be seen as what it was, a joke. I guess I got a case of "the beastlys". I thought that my post would seem ludicrious enough to be passed by as good natured ribbing, not slander. I apologize for any confusion I may have caused. I am, in real life, a very sarcastic person. That being said, I don't often post with green type, I guess I should utilize it more often. ---------------------------------------------------- I've been around for the past two days, during all the comotion. I have not, however, posted more than 5 times. I was sitting by, cruising the Internet for new music last night, logged in as a guest, watching everything go down. I don't go around attacking people. It was difficult to not step in at some point and voice my opinion. But I sat back and decided to let everyone cool off on thier own accord. I have typed out responces in many threads, only to delete them and not be posted, and this will be my only one on the subject. I really love this site and I'd hate to see it go to s***. I have faith in those in charge around here. I think the sites great and only getting better. But sometimes the best way to add to the site is not to "add" to the site. I've used that mantra the last two days. Beastly never really learned that and he's gone because of it. I think what I'm really saying is, oh hell, I think PA said it better than I can.
  6. My two cents: I think Brett is making the best descision for himself, his family, and his teammates, in that order. Speaking from experience, as an athlete having to deal with the recent death of a loved one, The best therapy for me was going out and competing. It gave me the chance to get my mind off of things and just escape. After the event was over I remember just collapsing in a heap of tears, but that day, that performance, I always look back on with the fondest memories. I performed at a level that I would never reach again, and I have to attribute it to being with the spirit of a loved one. You have to put things in perspective. The guy grew up playing catch in the backyard with his father. I'm sure he just wants to go out there one more time and play catch tonight. I have no doubt, watching this guy perform over the years, that he will go out there and have a stellar performance tonight.
  7. With Isaiah's track record -- I wouldn't be surprised to see the knick's going bankrupt, or breaking a record for futility.
  8. My prognosticating abilities, or lack thereof, are well documented on this site. I've only gotten 6 of the NFL games picked right so far...
  9. I was just think about Edinger. He may miss some field goals, but I can't think of a time when he's missed in the last seconds or overtime to win/tie a game. Anyone remember him missing "in the clutch"?
  10. They will get rolled tonight by the best team in football. Colts = Superbowl Champs
  11. So here's post number 1000, I don't have much to say.. I watched Conan, Natalie Portman is a freakin goddess. I know Britney may have won the hot chick contest, but I'll take Natalie anyday. She rocked that Debbie Gibson T-shirt tonight. Plus the girls got brains, an ivy leaguer. Hot Ivy league chicks are the best.
  12. I don't care what the score was, this still holds true. D-TROIT SUCKS!!! D-TROIT SUCKS!!!
  13. Yeah but did it say anything about cars covered with Marine-inhabitants
  14. What about John Hiatt... I went to a free show of his while I was in Colorado this summer... I've always liked the guy, but not enough to pay for a concert and have to deal with the s*** around here, trying to get to and from Ravinia.
  15. Here's what I don't understand. It makes sense to me that If ARod give up a little money ($12MIL), yet he gains martketing and licsensing right, plus an earlier out year, how is that not a benefit to the player???
  16. for those of you making Jose Paniagu jokes.... From baseballreference.com:
  17. As an owner of one of those teams, I'd like to point out that I've been inactive from the start... I missed the draft due to illness and had no pre-ranking... I'm pretty sure I won zero games... I was never active, my season was over before it started.
  18. Glad i didn't have MTV back then... the videos sucked.... Oh wait.. they played videos on MTV back then...
  19. Some guy drives drunk to take driving test.
  20. this was an interesting quote from the article... I don't think we'll hear that quote from a GM around here anytime soon.
  21. Buccaneers Chiefs Patriots Bengals Giants Titans Browns Saints Bears Panthers Bills Steelers Seahawks Eagles Colts ***Packers
  22. i know I didn't vote in some polls... (Rookie, Mod, Admin, Poster Of Year) I wasn't voting for myself, and the others I just didn't feel right singling anyone out.
