Garland will not be going anywhere... He has got $22M left on the final two years of his contract. Theres not many teams willing to commit $11M a year to a guy with Garland"s peripherals. He may be the least tradeable of the bunch simply because of money.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 19, 2006 -> 12:12 AM) I can honestly say that I just don't give a s*** anymore. This is the most important part of this article IMO: I've boycotted writing anything at the blog, but this one number fricken one on my list of gripes. The guy doesn't hit doubles, doesn't hit the ball the other way, doesn't hit for power to left field, stands far of the plate looking to turn on the ball.... Um, hello! McFly! How about throwing this guy nothing but fastballs, sliders, maybe even some changeups away? What's the worst that's going to happen? A single? A walk? He can't do anything else with it. Take away his lone strength.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 01:22 PM) Should we just play the USC/Ohio State national title game right now? Oh, and Garrett Wolfe is really good. And the Illini are indeed bad, but if they start Juice at QB, that's a big start to getting respectable. I think there are about 3 or 4 teams in the SEC that can give either of those teams a good run, but the SEC is just going to beat up on itself. Especially since they have a title game and the B10 P10 don't -

QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Sep 14, 2006 -> 08:57 PM) Why won't they just roll over and Die! I hate you Minnesota! Wedgie's trying to see if he can set the major league record for # of pitchers used in a 9 inning game.

Because I know somebody is going to go there... Crede failed against a pitcher who has not allowed a run in 29 straight outings. Figgins succeeded against a pitcher who has allowed in a run in each of his last 4 outings.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 06:47 PM) Abreu has 6 RBI's in the first with a 3-run homerun and a 3-run double. It's 9-0 Yankees in the bottom of the first. Well it's not like Tim Corcoran is a good pitcher. Oh wait... -

Starters only numbers are very easy to obtain. Go to MLB.com standings page and click the vs. LHP option. We've had 5 more games against LH starters than any other team in baseball. (Minny is second) -
It appears her name is Jessica Rose, a 19 year old originally from NZ. (You could really hear her kiwi accent at times) Sometime last night, some people found her actual myspace profile and a photobucket account. It seems she is being paid 30K for 10 months of Lonelygirl15, but I still don't know where it's going other than being an interesting experiment.

QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 11:42 AM) It will mean a ton, because Saturday will be an absolute must win, because Sanatana will for sure pitch the Sunday game. Not if they've clinched. They'll want Santana for Tuesday or Wednesday Game 1.

There was an NFL Primetime today. There was also a PTI. Both were broadcast from FedEx field. Primetime outside the park, and PTI inside on the sideline.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 11, 2006 -> 04:47 PM) I actually think on paper the matchups favor us except for Garcia vs Saunders Saunders and Zito have the amazing ability to throw with their left hand, which causes our bats to cower in fear. Loaiza has been every bit as good as Garland lately. Lackey is a better pitcher than Contreras, especially the recent contreras, plus they have a pitcher named Santana. That's even more dangerous than throwing left-handed. So the only guy I'm not scared of is Blanton, but he should pitch opposite Contreras, and who knows which Contreras we'll see this week. (Contreras has generally been good against the Angels. Phreakin' Dallas McPhereson gave him Phits, but other than that he's been pretty good against them.)
-
Contreras vs. Lackey Buehrle vs. Santana Garcia vs. Saunders Day to ponder fate Garland vs. Loaiza? Vazquez vs. Zito? Contreras vs. Blanton?

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 04:01 PM) The Sox have lost 6 Vazquez starts in a row. Average runs/game by the Sox 2.8

I seem to recall a similar Aboz thread about Mr. Garland.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 01:52 PM) Sandy Alomar Jr. is the answer to the trivia question. Was the question "he is one of two active players alive during the Fillmore administration?"
