  1. LOLz, sure Jan. La Russa fucked over Kopech for two seasons, he will likely never recover. Hahn fucked over just about the rest of the roster beyond Tony's signings and extensions listed above. https://calltothepen.com/2022/08/22/chicago-white-sox-fire-tony-la-russa-latest-idiocy/
  2. Was going for position players, but yes Kopech is #1 in terms of pitching disappointments. Perhaps he scores a reality TV show soon to keep the income stream going beyond a few more seasons.
  3. Colas with the negative 0.5 fWAR for the win.
  4. Would say the same for his contract (2 instead of 5 years). Joins Grandal and Keuchel in the overpay with no other reported offers.
  5. Makes sense to keep Elvis until Romy returns, doesn’t make sense to call up Sosa unless they plan to make him a starter for which he is too young and not ready. Playing Elvis a few times a month to rest Tim and Remillard is fine. Like Leury, playing Elvis as a starter is not ideal at this stage of his career.
  6. His HR numbers will likely not improve, which is the bulk of his value. Any acquiring team will play him at DH, perhaps a fill in at 3B. Could play 1B if he works on it. Great guy, great story, great to sell high especially with zero chance competing until mid to late decade. His 1.3 bWAR is as good a time as ever, also lowers the DH/1B 26 man roster count to four post 2023 (Eloy, Vaughn, Sheets, Perez after Grandal leaves). The Sox will need solid to excellent defense, especially up the middle, to finally reach a period of contention (beyond the 140ish games in 2020-2021) before the end of this decade.
  7. You’re at a half dozen garbage straw man posts. I mentioned 2021, and you spazzed out with this unrelated garbage. But you do you.
  8. Burger makes most sense because his value will never be higher. I would sell everyone over the next two years but Robert unless you were blown away with a Robert offer and there was a new competent person making the call. 2026 is the first year the Sox can credibly contend, it will likely be later if ever if Hahn is not fired. Optimal time: 2023 Deadline: Bummer, Burger & Clevinger 2023-2024 Off-season: Cease & Eloy 2024 Deadline: Tim and Yoan
  9. 2020 was Jerry and his 102 game lockout because he “lost” ten figures. The Game Three debacle was Hahn’s fault, but Ricky took the blame because Chicago media. Tony was alpha and Hahn beta boy until his baby heart attack / detox / whatever else in 2022. Would blame both, but Tony clearly had far more say than Ricky or Pedro in these matters.
  10. Jake Lamb Dave Duncan’s son Adam Eaton Steak Dinner In Season Extension Moving Madrigal who he hated Leury extension Joe Kelly
  11. These were also all pre existing relievers, whereas Kopech was always a starter until Tony! Toni! Tone! drunk drove into a parking space at 35th and Shields.
  12. Here is more info on Navarro. The Sox signed him as a 20 year old out of Venezuela. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/07/white-sox-select-edgar-navarro-activate-mike-clevinger.html
  13. Tommy Lee Jones played Al Stump's distorted version of Ty Cobb in 1994, three years after he portrayed Clay Shaw in 1991. Now that he is 76, he is the proper age to portray Bryan Shaw.
  14. Will he have to kick Kenny Williams’ ass like Chris Sale for the opportunity? Or is it on Rick Hahn to tussle with Garrett if Kenny retires in October? If the latter, they should fight at SoxFest to give the fans something entertaining in 2024. In any event, the White Sox have already wasted four years of his and Kopech’s development to satisfy Tony La Russia’s bullpen fetishes. Can’t blame him and it makes sense at this point to give it one last shot to salvage to at this point is another completely wasted Rick Hahn first round pick.
  15. All teams would be independent, no team or franchise would own multiple franchises as they do today, consistent with how the minor leagues were operated until Branch Rickey created the Farm System in Saint Louis.
  16. This is not an accurate assessment of my proposal. What I offered was a round robin intro-league schedule for each of the two leagues, and the league champions compete in a World Series, the same format as 1903 & 1905-1968. The owners created a divisional format in 1969. It is the second best proposal pitting each of the four division winners. Only division winners are eligible. While it’s not my preference, the division playoff format held between 1969-1993 until Jerry and his hand puppet Bud Selig cancelled the 1994 season was acceptable. This format is certainly preferable to the complete garbage system of the past 28 years, now to the point where a fourth place team in a five team division can make the playoffs. It’s pathetic.
  17. The pathetic MLB owners tried to pull bullshit by ending relegation and creating a Super League. Europeans wouldn't stand for that bullshit. North American owners would never risk relegation, it would never happen, but doesn't mean it shouldn't. Would cure tanking incentives for certain.
  18. True, my bad. OK with contraction to 14 or expansion to 16. Think the most feasible solution is to have two divisions in each league and four playoff teams. Best of 7 = up to 28 games. Current set up will have an extra week of playoffs, but the regular season is diluted with these unworthy teams in the playoffs. I put asterisks by wild card "World Champions", they couldn't even win a four or five team division.
  19. All nine White Sox reached tonight, Grandal and Colas the lone two to not reach at least twice.
  20. The joy of the Premier League and other European leagues is there are no playoffs, and there is relegation. Two 15 team Leagues (14 opponents X 12 round robin) 168 regular season. Zero interleague but All Star Game and World Series. Bottom two teams relegated, top two AAA teams promoted, with same for AAA/AA and AA/A.
