  1. Sure would have been nice to have Happ.
  2. Hope to see it, would love him to flame out of here.
  3. Age, starting to take potshots at too many people.
  4. He needs to be playing everyday with Robert out.
  5. Third crooked number for the Sox this week. I'll take it!
  6. Michael is running the day to day and it took years after Jerry stepped down and complete embarrassment during the NBA ASG for them to finally pull the trigger.
  7. So Grandal passed ball here and a 1-0 Detroit victory?
  8. I'm just glad Detroit hasn't scored a run, otherwise Tony would never have put in Lopez (or Graveman or Liam) if down a single run.
  9. It would take Baseball IQ to identify said Baseball IQ, and this front office and clubhouse staff just don't have it in them.
  10. As bad as Hahn has been, spending $30M plus Heuer and Madrigal for two months of Kimbrel and two years of Pollock has to rank among the Top 10 of his worst moves as GM.
  11. Tony only needs to go 8-42 this season to guarantee heading into 2023 above .500 during his White Sox managerial career, Tony finished above .500 in five of his ten White Sox seasons.
  12. Thoughts and prayers, @caulfield12 .
  13. 7 pitches, 3 outs. F Tony, F Hahn, F Jackie (Martling)
  14. Also, the more you play Pollock, the higher his guaranteed player option is for next season based on his incentives. Would absolutely like seeing him play only when Robert and Eloy can't play OF.
  15. Engel has the same OPS + as Pollock (79), but unlike Pollock (or Sheets, or Vaughn) can actually play RF. Is he injured or hated by Tony, seeing he has started two games since July 26? Engel isn't great by any means, but he is a good fielder and the drop-off in hitting isn't that large. He definitely should be starting more than 1 time a week with the horseshit RF options the White Sox have this season.
  16. I don't see a high probability of Jerry. Hahn or Tony leaving after this season, setting aside a health issue or death. Jerry still views this as a very successful season, regardless of what the team does. Team remains profitable even with this large payroll, just less so than expected if they drew well. They are now making money off of their Caesars Sportsbook partnership, and will soon have his own sportsbook at Comiskey Park II. The Sox have received a large increase in national television revenue. Tony La Russa is alive and managing, and will continue to do so as long as Jerry is alive, and perhaps further depending on his will.
  17. Live these graphs! Do you know if “Lost WAR” is based on projected WAR, actual 2022 WAR earned or a blended rate? If projected WAR is used, than someone like Crochet would be factored in. If based on a pro-rata share of actual earned 2022 WAR, than it represents the fact that the bulk of the playing time lost were for guys who have sucked while playing this season. Atlanta, San Diego, San Francisco and the Cubs lost little to nothing of significance regardless of method. Sox look to have lost slightly below average based on their bubble size. If Sox senior management read HR policy, than perhaps their organizations wouldn’t be facing these lawsuits.
  18. Not worried, no World Series will occur until Jerry, Hahn and Tony are gone. I suspect all White Sox fan "permanent records" will be expunged at that time.
  19. Who was the Head Athletic Trainer before the Sox suffered an inordinate number of injuries the past two seasons? Brian Ball. When was Brian Ball fired by the White Sox? The week Tony La Russa was announced as manager. What reason is Brian Ball suing the White Sox for alleged discrimination? Brian Ball alleges he was terminated due to sexual orientation. Is the timing and alleged reason a coincidence? Suspicious or worse. https://wgntv.com/news/former-white-sox-head-trainer-sues-team-for-alleged-discrimination-over-sexual-orientation/ Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation is currently facing a lawsuit based on racial and age discrimination. https://www.mercurynews.com/2021/04/24/family-divisions-explosive-allegations-engulf-tony-la-russas-animal-rescue-foundation/
  20. Their next 19 game stretches: 4 vs. Houston; 3 @ Cleveland; 1 @ Kansas City; 3 @ Baltimore; 3 vs. Arizona; Off Day; 3 vs. Kansas City; 2 vs. Minnesota 1 vs. Minnesota; 3 @ Seattle; 4 @ Oakland; Off Day; 2 vs. Colorado; Off Day; 3 @ Detroit; Off Day; 3 vs. Cleveland; 3 vs. Detroit Season Closeout: Off Day; 3 @ Minnesota; 3 @ San Diego; 3 vs. Minnesota
  21. The Sox have significantly regressed across the field the past two seasons, despite a massive increase in payroll. Centerfield (Robert improving on his rookie season) and Designated Hitter (Fly Parrot Fly - A Rick Hahn Production) are the lone two positions which have improved over the past two seasons. Yes, the Sox have regressed after replacing Nomar Mazara, Nick Madrigal and James McCann during their "multi-championship window". White Sox Positions which became worse: Ricky's Final Season vs. Tony's First Two Seasons (Source: MLB Team Ranks by Position - Fangraphs - fWAR) Catcher: 2020 1st 3.0 vs. 2021 11th 3.1 and 2022 14th 1.1 First Base: 2020 2nd 2.9 vs. 2021 12th 2.7 and 2022 5th 3.3 Second Base: 2020 9th 1.1 vs. 2021 23rd 1.4 and 2022 26th 0.2 Third Base: 2020 12th 1.3 vs. 2021 8th 4.3 and 2022 24th 0.5 Shortstop: 2020 3rd 3.0 vs. 2021 10th 4.6 and 2022 8th 3.0 Leftfield: 2020 10th 1.5 vs. 2021 24th 0.7 and 2022 23rd 0.4 Centerfield: 2020 14th 1.2 vs. 2021 7th 4.8 and 2022 11th 2.6 Rightfield: 2020 17th 1.0 vs. 2021 24th 0.4 and 2022 21st 0.4 Designated Hitter: 2020 28th -0.9 vs. 2021* 10th 1.1 and 2022 13th 1.1 Note *: 2021 was the lone year of the three the DH was not used in both leagues.
  22. We must praise all of Cody Asche's accomplishments both during this season during his banner reign and his White Sox career. Two future White Sox legends face each other in 2012. Cody Asche is victorious.
