I don’t like TLR managing moves. Seems like in every game, there is a controversial decision or omission. Like today. Not challenging outs that are safe. Bringing Foster in the 9th. Not hit and running when we keep hitting into doubleplays.

Certainly hit ahead of Goodwin and possibly Moncada and Vaughn.. I would bat him 5th. Certainly not 7 th.

Sox got roasted by the TBS announcers for not challenging the two plays at first which were shown as safe in their replays. Bringing in Foster in the 9th was inexplicable. Is Kopech not available?

Will cross that bridge when we get there. Feel more comfortable with Lucas than with Keuchel or Cease.

Hendriks has been wild in the strike zone, serving fast balls down the middle to elite hitters like Judge and Gallo. He will need a nasty slider to go along with his fastball to get guys like Judge out.

Collins vs a crappy LH like Britton who had no command was the better option.

Maybe before Cubs fire sale, but not with the current Cubs AAA lineup.

TA would not take a walk. I also think we needed to keep the erratic Britton in the game and not pinch hit for Collins. But TLR loves matchups, couldn’t fathom hitting lefty-lefty even against a bad LHP.

You are right. Abreu had an unbelievable at bat in the9th. One of the best of anyone this season. It was a big shame that we couldn’t capitalize on it in the 10th. And it went to waste.

Problem has been fastballs in the zone to elite players.

I would have pinched hit Vaughn for Goodwin, and stay with Lamb,rather than Goodwin facing the lefty in a game situation.

We shot ourselves in the foot by allowing Goodwin to hit twice against LHP in key situations. We kept pitching to Judge and got burned.

What I meant is that he did get a good swing in.

1: But Judge has been the most dangerous hitter in this series. 2. but it was a solo homer. Hendriks has given up 3 bombs with men on in the last 2 days. 3. Agree. But we should be more flexible with pinch hitters and DH. Rest our main guys against bottom feeders but not the Yankees.

Liam big mistake was to let Judgebeat him. Judge has been a one man wrecking crew against the Soxin this series. Can’t throw him a strike or a fastball.

I was referring to the 6th inning before Vaughn hit forLamb, he was available to pinch for Goodwin against the lefty and TLR inexplicably didn’t pull the trigger.

It is unbelievable that TLR would let Goodwin hit twice against lefties late in a one run game. And leave in the outfield also. Goodwin should not be in our starting lineups, even against righties.

Collins almost hit a grand slam in this game.

Key take away from this game: - Don’t let Judge beat us. Even if you have to give him the Barry Bonds treatment- don’t throw him a strike, and certainly not a fastball. He beat us by himself. Also don’t let Gallo beat us either. - Kimbrel has to be the closer. Hendriks is giving up too many homers as a closer. - We need to put our best players in the lineup regardless of matchups. That means no Lamb at DH, no Mendick pinch hitting, no Goodwin in the outfield.

You are 100% right. It is inexcusable to let Goodwin in to face the lefty instead of pinch hitting Vaughn. TLR has an inexplicable love affair with both Leury and Goodwin. Goodwin D is also crappy. He should not be in the lineup even against righties.

Where is Giolito?

I would have liked for Vaughn to have pinched hit for Goodwin in the 6th, with the lefty reliever having to stay in the game, rather than having to face the righty flame thrower instead. Also Goodwin stayed in the game late with his crappy D.

5 tool player for years to come. Hope he stays healthy and does not collide with Goodwin, Eloy or Leury in the outfield.

I rather see Engel or Vaughn is RF instead of Goodwin.
