Glad that Pedro learnt. TA should have been placed in motion earlier with Benintendi at the plate..

We have Grandal and Vaughn, two of the slowest runners in MLB. With them in play you need three hits to score a run.

Terrible cleanup hitter. Try Burger?

Here we go again. 6 hits in 4 innings with no walks and no runs. Pitiful clutch hitting again.

Kopech turns to rubble. (Fangraphs article)
I’ll still take Kopech over Lynn.

Hope so, but Lynn needs to pitch much better than his last outing.

Finally Robert hitting 3rd and Vaughn moved down to 5 th. That was a no brainer.

Is Vaughn a good enough 1b to rebuild around?
The Sox should value home run hitters because GRF is a home run hitters park.

Is Vaughn a good enough 1b to rebuild around?
He is too slow, hits too many ground balls, strikes out often and his defense is average at best, so I opine that he is not a critical part of a rebuild.

5/14- Astros at Sox, 1:10
With exception of Robert.

We got slider’d and curved away the whole game. Would venture to say that most of them swung and missed were out of the zone. We just have too many AAA type hitters that have no patience, no discipline, and cannot hit a major league breaking ball.

Very slow running ground ball hitter is a rally killer. Needs to be moved down in the lineup.

Right on. Looks like Pedro is stubborn and is not adjusting to the game situations. If we lose this game is on Pedro for slotting Vaughn in the 3rd spot. Also giving Vaughn more opportunities to hit than Robert.

Due to not hit a ground ball or strike out, but pop up to the catcher instead.

Why is he still hitting 3rd? He has been the supreme rally killer. With either Robert or Burger hitting 3 rd instead of Vaughn, Sox would probably be leading. IMO.

Robert homers. Proves my point that he needs to be hitting 3 rd instead of Vaughn. It could have been a homer in the first inning instead.

Yes now I can switch to Celtics- 76 rs game earlier than expected.
-
5/14- Astros at Sox, 1:10
I can’t believe that Pedro is still having Vaughn hitting third, and our hottest hitter Robert hitting 5 th. Vaughn has been a rally killer the last few games, and by hitting Robert 3 rd you assure that he hits in the 1 st inning. IMO.

5/13- Astros at Sox, 6:15, Fox
No Altuve, no Correa, no Gurriel

One walk and lack of clutch hitting.

And his exaggerated upper cut swing only helps when he hits it out of the park. Mostly is a shallow fly ball to LF.
