I was commenting on this possibility or probability earlier. A dump could just mean they want to convert his salary to a different player. But it’s still cheap, they don’t have to do this just because Imai would be coming. And without a replacement for Robert in center, that’s not going to help the product just to move Robert’s salary into another position. There’s no reason they couldn’t dump Robert at the deadline either. Paying his salary for half a season shouldn’t be a big deal.

It’s tough to get prospects in 2025 even if you’re offering a clean player, let alone Luis Robert. It’s likely just a salary dump for nominal dudes at the end of the day if there actually is a trade. Which would be a damn sight disappointment. Jerry owes us a shot at 2026 entertainment. That’s the least he can do.
