  1. I didn’t think he was “being an ass” either. Personally the wife advice comment dropped my lower jaw, but other than that. However, he seems to want a a fanbase completely overtaken by pollyannaism or something. And he hasn’t earned that kind of credit by his own actions. If it was Jim Thome that took us to the woodshed, at least I might be affected by the gaslighting a little.
  2. Happy travels with your approach. I just disagree on what you termed as an uplifting spring as if that was a statement of fact that we should be happy about . Maybe not, and not. TA didn’t get the memo.
  3. how you feel about how fans have reacted to this team, I am not sure why, given what they were put through, why it is the fans fault for reacting a certain way. In that context the team hasn’t made a serious effort to fill all the remaining teams holes on the team. Yet this is somehow supposed a particularly uplifting spring?…..if reaction to a continuous , contiguous dysfunction is disturbing, fair enough. why blame the victims? TLR is gone, and the closer has cancer. I suppose half of that is good. But using cancer as an uplifting factor is not common.
  4. Did he really just try to use treatment of one’s wife as an example of how to act?
  5. Regardless how they feel about team control, they need to take one for the fans here and do something positive. Read the room guys
  6. Yeah, it’s far from an uplifting spring, but sans the normal state injuries parade, its gosh darn a different spring so far.
  7. When has the players union had the power to make up a lineup card? If the union and Clevinger’s agent want to kick up a lot of dust, the Sox can stand up to it and trade/cut him, or they can play him. Its up to the Sox.
  8. This bed was made by the White Sox. They don’t need to be short, and they don’t need to be short for this reason. My only point is that it’s their choice, not fate. Comments about there needed to be some kind of court judgment to sit him down are not accurate. Don’t be hiding behind the courts and claim he has to play. If this is what kind of players they want on the field, then its on the Sox 100%.
  9. Well, the only running Giolito has to worry about is to cover first base. History is replete with good, yet fat pitchers. Outfielders, not so much. This is a stretch, if you will.
  10. One thing is true. There aren’t a lot of circumstances that can discourage me from having a beer under those circumstances.
  11. Appreciate the reply. I don’t know man. If I’m making millions of dollars a year, and Im trying for more in the outfield, Im doing a lot of research. And being as light as possible seems a no brainer as a goal for a big man. While a good guy, Eloy seems immature, and somehow insulated against positive suggestions watching his career. I would be surprised if he wasn’t just fat and arrogant instead of overtrained on the wrong program.
  12. Agent was hoping there would be a desperate situation cropping up other than just Chicago to leverage
  13. The rest of the league seems unimpressed. Im just glad Leury is kept at arm’s length
  14. Maury Povich: Romy, you are NOT
  15. Just because you think you’re right. Lots of hubris in here.
  16. If they wanted him to play, absolutely. If Hahn and JR don't want him to, then he sits. All they re obligated .to do is pay him
  17. He doesn’t have to play. He can be on the team all he wants. The manager doesn’t have to pitch him
  18. So you think Giolito would look like JJ Watt in pads…
  19. Along the lines of massive weight loss however, what made Eloy think he can play 25-30 lbs overweight? Inquiring minds want to know how you can hope compete for an outfielder job like that? A real organization is trading off mental weakness from the roster. It should not take your job getting populated by outsourced talent before you look into the mirror and self evaluate how your career is going.
  20. I don’t quite believe it. He was big. But he wasn’t ready to be a 3-4 defensive end in the NFL
  21. I don’t know enough about Romy’s abilities in the outfield at this time, but Colas seems way more suited by virtue of what Colas was doing last season.
  22. https://soxmachine.com/2023/02/white-sox-want-you-to-know-how-much-they-like-romy-gonzalez/
  23. If there has to be change, change the definition of game to 13 innings, whatever, and deal with ties in the standings. Just do it. Changing the competition itself is very disturbing.
  24. It’s fake baseball. May as well have them play dodgeball in the outfield for the win.
