  1. Despite the home park he is now in, he has made comments about the approach he was taking at the plate, and it sacrificed power for contact if read that right. If he went to change his launch angle etc, that would seem like he is again changing his approach. So, depends.
  2. Law is bearish on this move and the Sox https://theathletic.com/4010370/2022/12/16/white-sox-andrew-benintendi-contract/
  3. i just heard Hahn wanted Beni in the draft over Fulmer. So who made the pick?
  4. We really do have PTSD. I want to believe the Sox will have 4-5 real outfielders on the team or the 5th able to be shuttled up from AAA. And that Pedro would be just as disgusted as we are to make up that type lineup card. Tony probably got a thrill from it. I WANT TO BELIEVE
  5. I mean, if this means there are no more DHs in the outfield, then I'll get stoked enough. First, you gotta get yourself untied from the chair before you escape from the basement
  6. It looks like a "solid move". In the little pond the White Sox fish in. I'm not speaking for anybody, but I feel like the team needed a big lift this offseason. Didn't get one, didn't expect one. Unless losing Tony was that move, but it's not that simple. Anyway, that's one way. The big splash. The other way is what Pedro has to do, is build a baseball monster with baby steps here.
  7. I feel your pain. The Chris Sale curse has got to be losing some juice by now though. The HOF person is gone. Maybe the sun is gonna come out, TOMORROW!
  8. I'd be careful with that. AJ Pollock was "good" too, before he got to Chicago
  9. Chicago is where veterans go to die, yes lol. Just be glad we aren't trading 17 year olds for him. ?
  10. Mixed on a Beni signing. If his WAR translated, fine. But last season the Sox sacrificed too much power at the power postions, and not much is changing on that front
  11. *pops in again to check if the Sox are still working on signing a left fielder*
  12. Its not overplayed as an indicator of incompetence
  13. Fegan: https://theathletic.com/3996193/2022/12/15/white-sox-prospect-cristian-mena/?amp=1
  14. He may or may jot be worth that contract. But my God for one season here at least it was a very reasonable situation. Hindsight is 20/20, but many people on this board would fight you over that at the time.
  15. I have reason (hope) to believe that Shirley is not fruited from the same poisonous tree
  16. I think to make Beni work, you need power from the 3rd baseman. Otherwise the way the team struggles to hit homers, eh. OTOH, with Gallo, you need less strikeouts from 3b and everyone else. If the Sox go these routes, they tend to emphasize their existing flaws too much. Changes around these moves seem in order.

  18. Well because now I was obligated to google for Swanson’s wife. And it was worth my time.
  19. TBH, I prefer Eloy’s power to anything he has to offer
  20. So I guess this means the second baseman is an in-house solution. There’s nobody reportedly “working on” it
