I call it an asset wasted. The Sox do have a lot of assets, but they aren’t that team with an endless pipeline enough so they can be this frivolous.

I hated that we were in position to have to draft a 5'7 player. Was kind of intrigued with Kelenic and Brady Singer. But Madrigal was going to work out well enough. For the record, not a Vaughn guy either...CJ Abrams. I hate wasting young assets is the main point. As far as the Sox picks go, the college player route as a religion was very exasperating. Although with the White Sox scouting department, I can understand why they would want to play it more safe. But they were getting ridiculous.

Madrigal would have been having decent seasons and helping win playoffs series for 10+ years.. There is no way to fix this mess, just try to mitigate damage.

if AJ helps win the world series, it could become less of a sharp stick in the eye. But there is no way to make it right.

Not sure the White Sox are looking at this as a savings, since Kimbrel’s salary was a basic add-on for the stretch and playoffs. Now, the money sticks over what Madrigal was making.

Ill need to think about that. At least subbing for Eloy in late innings becomes easier plugging in Engel and shifting AJ into left

47%? That means he now runs slower than Paul Konerko. Anyway, I'm glad for the trade, but will be surprised if he ever played better than Adam Engel just because the Phillies gave up for a minor league reliever that maxed out his physical profile at 24YO. As previously stated, the Sox have to keep at this.

As a younger man, I would choose to believe in the upside of aquisitions sich as this. Experience makes you wiser. Basically, if this ends up as the end of the White Sox pursuit for a right fielder,, disapointing. I expect us to be buying at the deadline (if the Sox are even willing ffs)

As long as he’s not giving up stud prospects for the duds, we’re making progress on the learning curve. Haseley is 25 years old too, not an old pitcher. This is new.
