  1. This isn't really true. It was more than implied that they would play these games with Eloy and Robert if they didn't sign those extensions before their respective debut seasons started.
  2. Swap Eloy with Sheets and make the Mets kick in half of the 30 mil owned McCann, and I'd do it.
  3. The thought of having both Keuchel and MadBum on the team makes me ill.
  4. Have you seen pictures of any of them? One of them looks like a 22 YO Vlad Sr. Absolutely insane.
  5. Eloy has range out there, he's just uncoordinated as hell and has the grace of a bull.
  6. I'm not a fan of either, so I say break a pool cue in half and let them go at it.
  7. FWIW, Olney tweeted that the likes of the Dodgers, Red Sox Yanks etc. are waiting until there's a new CBA agreed to before making any large additions. So I guess the Sox aren't alone in that regard. Not to excuse the Sox inactivity, but a good chunk of the league seems to be following the same thought process.
  8. He's a handy player for a contending team to have, but, yeah. I hope he's not starting.
  9. Ok, so we would literally have to empty the farm to acquire them which would then just create a whole list of other problems. Personally, I don't see any influx of prospects coming from a Kimbrel trade, so I don't know why you would count on that either.
  10. yeah, the Sox with their 30th ranked farm system could land Castillo and Winker without a problem.
  11. Yup. Tigers were always going to sign a big SS. I'm just glad it's the most flawed one they chose.
  12. My SoxMachine Offseason plan had them trading for Sean Manea, so I'm going to stick with that.
  13. I think it's more of Jerry having a firm line that he refuses to cross.
  14. I don't think it's a problem of evaluating talent, I actually think they've been pretty good. The problem is that they seem totally out of touch with how much those players are worth in the market.
  15. Kind of where I'm at. It really depends who comes off the board today.
  16. Yeah, and making Hendrik's the #1 priority (which, tbf, doesn't look too bad in hindsight)
  17. I just feel like this is going to be another instance where the FO completely misreads the market like they did last year.
  18. I'm not expecting any signings. Maybe a Kimbrel trade, but I'm not really expecting that either.
  19. Waiting to make any bigger signings until a new CBA is agreed to seems like such a Reinsdorf thing to do.
  20. I'd be very on board with Castellanos. His statcast page is sexy as hell. Just stick Engel or whoever in right in the later innings.
  21. Yeah, I'm not really sure what to make of FG's write up as it seems to contradict itself with the high ranking and favorable comparison to Ruiz who is/was one of the best catching prospects in baseball. For what it's worth, Pipeline is more in line with BA.
  22. I read Marchan's scouting report on FG and the only thing they seems to agree with BA about is that he doesn't have any power. Even called him out as a mediocre defender. They also have him rated as the Phillies #6 prospect and compared him to Keiburt Ruiz ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  23. I don't understand what's to be up in arms about. We needed a reliever and we signed one. It's not even Thanksgiving.
  24. That I agree with. If Vaughn can get us Reynolds or K.Marte I would be onboard depending on the rest of the package.
