QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 05:01 PM) Exactly. It was obvious to absolutely everyone watching the game that Santos was done and wouldn't get anyone else out. Just another example of Guillen not having any sense of what was happening out on the field and reacting too late. He truly is a terrible in game manager. I just truly wish we would fire Ozzie to please you people. Please please KW fire Ozzie. Now you are second guessing leaving in a closer. Now I have seen everything. God I wish they'd fire Ozzie just to see you people rip the next manager as well. You don't take out your closer (until after he blows the save). You all know this BTW. You are too smart to not know this. If that double off the wall was a deep shot caught by Rios, you'd all be happy. If he gets one lucky pitch on two strikes past oh, four or five batters, you'd be content. Sergio f***ed up. It happens. But take him out? Sure.
-
I think he'll make two, cause the first game he'll only go about 4 innings I bet. Next game he'll go 7 or whatever.

QUOTE (MAX @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 04:08 AM) Why even insult Edwin? He had nothing to do with this loss. Should have gotten the W. Maybe we are supposed to take the question "how did we lose this game?" literally? Because I don't think you know. This isn't a flame, but are you concerned he only had one strike out against the pathetic A's? What's up with that? I didn't see the game til right after he exited. Has he still got good stuff?

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 03:11 AM) What's the over/under on rehab starts for Peavy? I'd say 2. I wouldn't argue if you said 3.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 03:36 AM) Then honestly, why come back every night again and again. If you can't handle the f***ing swings of professional sports, then go take up knitting. Coming here to be debbie downer EVERY GOD DAMN NIGHT gets really old, Greg. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 03:43 AM) Nothing negative is ever refreshing. Negative attitudes and energy are a disease, a virus. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 04:11 AM) This is a good learning experience for Santos... you learn from failure and let's hope this is a step in the right direction for the development for Santos being a better pitcher or in fact a better closer. Ya it hurts .... but he's gotta learn to not overthrow and overdo everything just do get out of things. I think he'll learn from this... and don't doubt the team's ability to bounce back. 1.) Every night? Are you crazy? I am very positive when we win or play well. I mean s*** I point out that we NEVER have comebacks like these teams put on us. (Except very very early the first two weeks of the season I think we had a great 2 out comeback). I mean this loss was insane. But I am not overly negative, no way, especially about players. I haven't buried Juan or Gordon like some have. Or AJP when he has his long slump (he's been pretty good this year). 2.) My gosh. How can you not be "negative" over tonight? This does not happen. 3.) Good post, but I don't know what he can learn except to NEVER walk people or hit people and I think he knows that. I think he threw the fastball cause the slider had no chance tonight. I don't know what he could learn tonight. It is sad if he was mentally defeated. All he needed was one out SO MANY TIMES tonight. I won't bury him. He's been good to great this year. But geez, tonight ... -
Can't argue with Jordan tonight. Changes are way overdue. Bring up Viciedo now. Sergio's status as closer will be in jeopardy if he ever returns to the mound with that horrible stuff again. Problem is Sale and Thornton can't do it. Crain is not good enough. It's truly Sergio or nothing. We may have to rest him more or something, cause it's puzzling how he had nothing tonight. I wouldn't be so mad if we ever won games like teams do against us. If we're down 4 in the sixth, forget it. Two in the ninth? Ha. We're cooked.

QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 04:24 AM) Dude, no denying it was a bad loss...but it's not the end of the world. I still feel good about this team and the way they've been playing for the last week or so. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 04:25 AM) So you fully expected a sweep? QUOTE (OilCan @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 04:27 AM) Or the same ones who would have said SEE I TOLD YOU THEY WOULD COME BACK if the Sox actually did come back. Relax everyone. It hurts, yes. Santos missed his location. Second game in a row, yes. But the posts about THE BULLPEN IS IN SHAMBLES or other stuff is ridiculous. Good night. Feel better tomorrow. This board has some of the more patient people in the world. Wish my business accepted failure like you guys do. Heads would have rolled in the real world by now. This team is a joke. A total joke. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 04:14 AM) You can't start 11-22, lose games like this, and make the playoffs. That's why starting 11-22 almost always leads to an October at home, there's no margin for error. When you start like a major league team, then an occasional loss like this can be absorbed. But with the start this team had, every single loss like this is a major step closer towards the teams typical failed season that ends after 162. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 04:15 AM) Nope, not devastated at all. It was much worse just losing a game to the Tigers. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 04:17 AM) The same people who are b****ing that the season is over now will be the ones screaming that real fans (like themselves) can't get tickets to the post season games 1.) I agree fully. 2.) It is a totally pathetic devastating loss. Gio beats us and we're down 2-1 to Oakland and on ANOTHER rotten homestand. 3.) We're not going to any playoffs. Not with this team. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 04:12 AM) Why is this game devastating exactly? Uh, you don't think it's a devastating loss? We're having a s***ty homestand AGAIN. Had the game won with 2 outs in the ninth and nobody on?? WIth a 2 run lead? Yes it is devastating. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 04:11 AM) Totally disagree. It was clear he couldn't get anything but a fastball over. I really think Crain would have been brought in if he wasn't "overused". I personally think you've lost your mind. Sergio still was one out away from getting the game over with. That meaty fastball could have been lined right at Rios. CLosers close. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 04:10 AM) Are people seriously saying the season is over and f*** Ozzie and KW because a team coming off a 10 game losing streak decided to steal one? Get a f***ing clue. Again ... when does our favorite team ever "steal one?" This team is a f***ing joke and has been a f***ing joke all season. 10 in a row 2 outs in the ninth at home and we can't close out OAKLAND? Now Gio beats us and we're down 2-1 at home in a series against OAKland? f***. -

Now we got potential closer problems. Typical for a team with a 2-4 game over .500 ceiling at best. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 04:07 AM) Of course Sergio s*** the bed, but there was no excuse to have him still in the game. Maybe KW should get off his ass and get us another righty in the pen. Are you kidding me? He's our "closer." He finishes the game. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 08:54 PM) LOL, nice. And congrats to Dunn for the homer tonight. In the interview he said he was bound and determined to conquer the DH role. Maybe he'll get hot. If he dominates the summer months, the boos will be long forgotten and he'll hear steady cheers. The guy is so big you'd think just making consistent contact would result in some dingers.
-
Dunn hts a home run. Nice. I would assume the cheers felt good for the big lug. Getting booed must grow old. Rios gets two hits. Public enemy Juan two hits and a ribbie. Lexi, Konerko, Omar. Nice night from Mark Another clean win that makes you wonder why they are only 4-3 on this homestand and so inconsistent.

If Juan Pierre is signed tmrw to an extension, what would you do?

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 05:58 PM) Seriously, you're like a cliché manager or announcer. Are you Hawk? I did want to see the replay before being an expert on that play. Sometimes there's nothing that can be done on the little flares out there, little pops that have ended careers with those fierce collisions. Has anybody STUDIED the replay? I have not. Did Juan blow it on that play or was it one of those things? I just assumed on first glance the team f***ed up royally, mainly Juan.
