Bad break we coulda used the wild pitch. Beggars aren't choosers.
-
See, that's unacceptable from Lexi. Just plain bad. You must do better than that or you lose every single night.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 8, 2011 -> 03:28 AM) This is anything but station to station baseball Whatchu talkin' about Willis? I call first to second to third then home station to station. Yes! He got hit!
-
Strikeout. Then DP.
-
OK three singles, crowd is restless. Station to station baseball. Can we score some runs? Cmon boys. How can we have 10 hits and one run????
-
0-2 spells problems.
-
Well he's bunting. Will he frick it up?
-
Here we go again! No bunt please. Try it again. Third time a charm? Or third time a heartbreak again?
-
Why is Alex hitting sub .200? That's 2-2 tonite. A bunt would not be good here cause of all our hits tonight. Hopefully no Ozzeroo bunt.
-
What's sad (so far) tonight is Floyd is kicking some ass, but like somebody suggested we have absolutely no momentum and actually may be on our heels, knowing we ultimately will lose because of all the wasted opps.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 8, 2011 -> 03:17 AM) You can see signs of AJ fading into becoming an even worse hitter than usual. His bat speed has diminished, and his power's gone with it. In the past, he had enough strength to hit it over the left fielders head. Now, even if he makes good contact to left field, it's playable for the outfield. When he tries to pull the ball, he's not quick enough to avoid rolling over on the pitch. It's what we saw the first few months last year until he finished up strong. Yeah, that's why I said earlier this year he now was Jason Kendall. If AJ would accept he's jason kendall and develop a stroke where he could stroke some singles then he wouldn't totally be worthless as he is now. Like you said he has no power. I was stunned he actually hit a home run the other day/week.

QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ May 8, 2011 -> 03:16 AM) Even in the short instances over the last 22 games the Sox have held a lead, it seems like the other team always has the momentum becuase we are constantly missing opportunities, or have an absolute piss poor effort inning at the plate and half inning is over in 2 minutes. Exactly.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 8, 2011 -> 03:14 AM) Aj was always at his best when every other at bat he'd flip the ball over the SS for a single, not on a line, just a near-bloop. Yeah. Oh for those days. He may be as bad as Kotsay now, wouldn't u all agree? He's abysmal.
-
AJ to me seems to be a pretty smart guy. OK, he must know that he at this point in time is probably the worst hitter in baseball. He knows he is slower than any ballplayer alive. He knows that he is a serious DP candidate there. So he hits it right at the ss for the easy DP. Now can't he just try to hit into a double play and then maybe he'll actually line a single? Can't he try, uh, something different?
-
All I can do is laugh again. I mean it's either that or go berserk mentally every single night.
-
Oh boy. Mr. DP is up
-
2 on nobody out. Whoopie. Let's make some hay for once guys.
-
Not to flame my man AJ, but is he the worse defensive catcher in the game now? I'd suggest he prolly is. How come Adam Dunn has no pop anymore? I'll take the bloop single. Of course now it's station to station with him.
-
By the way, that little pop fly ball that Pierre hit that couldn't score Beckham .... The Royals won their game on the same depth of a pop up, believe it or not. Pinch runner Dyson is THAT FAST. He was safe by the proverbial mile, too. No way we could have sent Gordon, but it shows you how much better other teams are than the White Sox. It was Aviles who hit the little pop and he is interviewed postgame as a hero for a shallow sac fly.
-
The AJ signing came right after Dunn, correct? That was one position we should have just let AJ go. Now it's going to end badly regarding him. He can't throw and can't hit and that is a lethal combination.
-
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 8, 2011 -> 02:59 AM) Well, Pierre can't drive the ball into the OF and Morel made a typical rookie baserunning mistake on a softly hit ball? Can we just close this thread now before a total meltdown occurs? I guess there's no longer enough fans who care to spend their Saturday on White Sox baseball to even get upset. Now even Konerko's getting into the act with the error. This is almost incredible. Caufield I love you but you jest. You realize meltdowns are a daily occurrence and pretty much rightly so.

How can a team be this snakebit for so long? Are we that bad we can't EVER score when we have first and third and no out? Is this unprecedented?
-
QUOTE (mcgrad70 @ May 7, 2011 -> 11:53 PM) I truly believe the Sox management is working under the assumption that Cleveland and Kansas City are not as good as they are bad. They believe those two teams will eventually tank and as long as they don't get too far behind the so-called elite teams of the division - Minnesota and Detroit, they could go on some extended win streak and be right back in the race. Operating under this kind of delusion has preventing them to from facing reality about the true state of their organization. That's all fine, except we can't beat the teams in our own division either. Haven't been able to for some time now. Ug. It's all so depressing having to be a negative fan all the time. I wish there was some light at the end of the tunnel. At least while we've sucked, the Hawks (last year) and Bulls (this year) are amazing. Tough to be greedy and want to win two title per year in Chicago.

Who could have projected all these guys would be major horses***? I think I have singlehandedly identified the biggest culprits to our horrendous five week opening that has ended the season on the Southside before it started. I mean can anybody on here say anything good about these guys? I mean I couldn't add Pierre. He actually has had some hits. Morel has been awful but he's no major factor either way. Some of the other relievers we expect to suck. But to you five guys mentioned ... thanks for ruining the season. I mean our starting pitching has been reasonable. Maybe even pretty good. But those 5 guys ... wow. I repeat .. can any of you say anything good about Dunn, Thornton, AJ, Rios and Gordon?? I cannot. And I added Oz and KW for intangible suckiness.

If we make it to .500 by the all star break, I think a parade would be in order. At least a Sox talk party to end all parties. Aint.Gonna.Happen. But if it did ... wow.
