You may be right about the doghouse. I'm thinking more than that, he simply loves Omar. He worships Omar's glove and Omar has had some hits as well. He's just not going to DH him because he also worships Kotsay and Jones. I'd say Kotsay a bit more than Jones.

If they are going to give us Fielder, my guess is the deal has to include Beckham with Hudson, Flowers for sure and maybe more. The GM will get run out of town if it's Viciedo in place of Beckham.

I predict Lilly and Viciedo will both play tomorrow. Guillen's defense is not very good any more. I think the Royals would try to rob us, since they are able to simply let him ride out the final year of his ill-advised contract. He's not a bad hitter still, though, when healthy. He's had some problems health wise again this year.

The lineup should be very interesting considering the consensus is the Sox look "tired" today. I still don't understand why Pierre and Omar have to play every single day. Would you guys want Jose Guillen for a rental the rest of the year? I'm sure the Royals, however, would try to rob us for said rental. I like when players fight back in a reasonable manner like this. Wise would probably have been wise to shut up since he didn't have a track record, but I can see why he'd be pissed. Jenks, who has closed for six years, has every right to tell people in a calm, non Zambrano-type way, that it's pretty s***ty that he always has to prove himself. Still it all boils down to the same thing, Just Win Baby. The only way a closer can shut people up is to get every save. That shuts everybody up. Maybe blow one a month or something but no more than that.

That was a big hit considering Bobby's closing struggles of late. I wish AJP would change the batting stance to not be so open, but I guess he knows what works the best for himself.

I agree, Bolt. Defense can be as important as whacking a few hits per game. That's why I wish we'd just send Dayan down. Oz is in love with Omar's defense and Dayan isn't going to play, so I'd be in favor of demoting him just to get him regular play.

I agree CaliSox, but I wasn't positive. He looked like kind of a spaz after it whacked off the wall, but I thought it was a true shot over a rightfielder's head. Side note: Alex Gordon returned tonight from minors: 0-4 with an error in right. Poor Alex. May need the proverbial change of scenery.

I love Bobby Jenks' comments. Perhaps it's time to ship him to another team and let him close for them. I am of the opinion the Phils or somebody would welcome him. We have Putz and Thornton so we could afford trading him for a bat. That clip of his strikeout of Thome was nice, as well.
