  1. If it's going to take Dye a month to be ready, it's kind of stupid for anybody to sign him for more than 500,000. It's going to be half a year production and we could be way out of it by the time he's ready. He blew it by not getting anything done in the offseason.
  2. Good line in Mark Gonzales' game story tonight. Cowley or somebody had a tweet saying the way the Sox played tonight you wonder why they can't play like that more often. We've seen efficient victories like this before, can we put something together? The big positive is we won a series, like many have pointed out. That's always a positive.
  3. That was a great win. It seems home ice in hockey isn't as significant as home court in basketball for some reason. Some of these home NBA playoff games have been massacres.
  4. I notice not much traffic on here. I don't live in Chicago. Is the whole city sort of blah over the White Sox. Is there anybody out there that has any faith the team will do anything the rest of the season or is it all Blackhawks all the time? I assume the Cub mania is the same as always. All games sold out, etc., even though that team sucks.
  5. The Sox certainly are dull, if not horrible.
  6. I know we didn't want to give him a multi year deal, but we have Pierre for 2 years and that's much worse than having Pods 2 years.
  7. How's Alexei's defense been this season so far? I'm in a streak where I haven't seen many games. It has to be one of the worst sides of the infield defensively in the big leagues doesn't it?
  8. They definitely were glad to see him go and take his strikeouts with him.
  9. I think that's the rite attitude to have, Big Squert. I'd have done the same thing. It's not like I want him to beat us.
  10. My god. That home run he hit in the Series didn't give you a thrill of a lifetime? I'm glad I'm not a fan who forgets the great moments certain Sox players have provided. I think the fans who did the correct thing and cheered him last night would agree with me. You think Pods should only be popular by association for us winning the title? Are you serious?
  11. Even though the Royals suck, that's very encouraging from Jake. I'll say what a lot of guys say about our players: "He'll be fine." I'd be nice to start being a bit more consistent and stringing good games together as a team. After an excellent, efficient win, can we do it again tonight? Or revert to crumminess?
  12. Great story daa84. You catchers do take a beating back there. Has this happened to Zaun again? Or was it truly the one inning fluke?
  13. As an Ozzie defender I thought I'd point out two MORE positives from today regarding Oz. -- Did you see Oz and Peavy in the dugout after Peavy left the game? Oz was hugging him, up in his face, doing everything but kissing him. This is after seeing Oz doing the same exact thing to Buehrle after one of Mark's better starts earlier in the season. He appears to me to be a great players' manager. -- I heard a long interview with Teahen on the Royals network today. He was asked a lot of questions about Oz and said he is convinced Ozzie says most of the things he does to take the heat off the players and be the story himself and the players appreciate that. I know Teahen can't very well blast Ozzie, but if you heard it you sensed it was sincere. Every time I hear Teahen talk I wish he was a better ballplayer. Seems to be one of the good guys in baseball. I dislike his love of Juan Pierre but Ozzie rules.
  14. I think that fans who go to the games are not as insane as many message board crazies. Of course they will cheer for somebody who helped us win a f***ing World Series. Some Sox fans went a whole lifetime without a WS title. He helped us win one. Of course he should be popular with White Sox fans.
  15. What the Sox need to do is have Peavy get his head out and start by blowing away a horrific KC team tonight. The starting pitching simply has to do what everybody felt it would do ... be one of the best fivesomes in baseball. The offense is putrid, but it has had nights where it has scored some runs and even scored some runs late. It's all about the starting rotation. The team has to start winning some series. Have we still won just one series?
  16. I'd leave Juan at nine just because he is by far the worst hitter on the team. But I agree he has nothing to learn. It's not like he's trying to suck. Leave Beckham at No. 2. If he doesn't break out of this, the team is destined to fail anyway.
  17. Why despicable? Alex Gordon has been injured ... a lot. The Royals didn't set it up for him to get injured. Nobody in KC would be worked up if KC dumped Gordon to some team. I wouldn't be against trading for Gordon, only if we could get rid of Teahen in the process. And as far as the shot at Pods, he's healthy and would have given us a much better lineup the month of April than power puff Pierre gave us.
  18. Teahen is one of those guys available in fantasy leagues this time of year. He's a guy nobody can get excited about being a regular.
  19. So you want him to be in the lineup but lower? He's still in our godawful lineup. What the f*** difference does it make where he bats? We can't bat everybody ninth.
  20. When is the time right to ever trade a guy? Teams either want players or they don't. So two years ago when Paulie stunk we should have traded him? What would we have gotten for him. Peavy? Everybody was doing cartwheels when we got him and he's sucked. Consistency is lacking in almost every player in the bigs not named Mauer, Rodriguez or Rivera or Pujols.
  21. Alex Gordon is a big, flat bust. We don't want him. Unless we can trade Teahen for him straight up. My god.
  22. Why in the world would you want Beckham lower? Beckham is our golden boy and the team is counting on him. Team will go nowhere without him. Leave him be and let him hit.
  23. No offense to us, but he's probably sick of the cliche complaints. My pet peeve is the batting order complaint. The smart people on here are convinced it matters where Beckham bats. Before that it was Kotsay. Rios should be moved up, whatever. The way I see it is it doesn't matter much. With such a long season as it is, he probably gets sick of all the arm chair quarterbacking. Just win, baby and there is no arm chair quarterbacking.
