  1. That makes great sense, too much sense for our front office brass I guess.
  2. I should have put it in green or whatever. I was referring to the mad talk in the offseason how it was supposedly the greatest rotation ever. And all that crap that gets spewed out in the winter. Like the fact Mark Teahen might be fine at third base, when anybody with a brain knew he wouldn't be fine there. Beckham starts to learn how to play the position pretty damn well, so they move him for Mark Teahen. My god. This isn't the reason Gordon is sucking at the plate I'm sure, but still, way to f*** with him, white Sox. Right now we should move Gordon back to third, move Lexi back to second, let Omar play short the rest of the year as our OC type acquisition and leave Gordon at third and Lexi at second the next 10 years while working on a new plan at short. Oh wait, too late to do that. Alexei was deemed our phenom at short.
  3. Dick Allen normally speaketh the truth. Spot on.
  4. That's true about the ace mentality. I just hope it's his competitiveness and he calms down pretty quickly when they make the call to pull him. I'm glad he's a competitor. It's just kind of dangerous if managers listen to their aces and leave them in too long. Four runs is a lot different in the ninth than if he had given up one run and was cruising along, etc. Fair comment, though.
  5. WIth that logic, Oz should be immediately fired for bringing in Pierre and KW should definitely be fired for bringing in Teahen. And whoever decided to move Beckham to second should be immediately fired. Also, whoever decided to not sign Thome for cheap should be fired. Whoever did't work harder to make Pods feel the love and take a reasonable deal should be fired (management never acted like it wanted Pods his 3 year 'demand' notwithstanding). Also Oz should be fired for falling for Kotsay. And Walker should be fired for ruining Beckham. Cooper should be fired for the s*** effort from this once in a lifetime rotation. Fire everybody.
  6. Fair post. Gavin hasn't received much criticism on here. I know I've given him a major free pass. When I think of Gavin, I think good thoughts and he's sucked as you pointed out.
  7. If the Sox feel they have a GM and system capable of rebuilding with young prospects, then by all means deal Rios if he's dealable. Get rid of that contract.
  8. I still say it won't help Beckham sending him down. What more can he do down there? You work on things and man up in the big leagues. Ride the storm out, baby. Why the f*** would the White Sox send him down?? Ridiculous. He has the ability. Show it. Bat him ninth the rest of the year if you have to. Oh wait, we already have 3-4 candidates for ninth. You'll probably get your wish though. I could see the Sox making yet another bad decision with personnel soon. I would not be shocked at all they send him down.
  9. Sending Beckham down won't help us win games. He's old enough and mature enough to be in the majors. He has to ride it out up here and show what he's got. Team is going nowhere either way. Going down will not help him or the team. Playing Omar and Nix is no better.
  10. I'll say one thing for you Caufield. You got a lot of passion.
  11. Wow what great options (CQ is out). Fire Ozzie for not going to Nix and Castro!! Boy what a great team we have. Teahen and Juan make huge bucks. Fire Oz for signing them not for letting them hit there. Team sux.
  12. How can you blame the managing for guys failing at the plate? Oh yeah, he should have pinch hit for two high paid starters. And pinch hit with the equally bad crap on the bench.
  13. Yeah, but Teahen always hit well against the Sox, so we had to sign him. Great front office reasoning.
  14. What I'm trying to say is we have a bad team, so there's no real opportunity to waste.
  15. Not signing Thome was a bad idea, Caufield. But Oz had a love affair with Kotsay that couldn't be broken.
  16. Caufield this team isn't good enough to say we've "wasted opportunities."
  17. The White Sox are allergic to winning series. Putrid. Looks like it might also be tough to win in San Jose. Fans are really really into it. Go Hawks!
  18. I wonder how we'll do in Game One. Tough tough one to call after several days off for both teams. I'd have to think we'd drop game one. If we win it, look out. we might sweep.
  19. GMs must feel dirty when they fire managers who have no chance. I mean, Hillman had to be tempted to tell Moore to go f*** himself. I mean, last year they acquired Jacobs for a year. They got Guillen who has been a disaster. Yuni has had 2 straight good games against the Sox, but he's sucked. Middle relief disaster after disaster. No good set up man for years. Bad defense for years, not really the manager's fault. Not much hitting on paper for years. Hillman may have screwed up Meche and makes the usual mistakes you can second guess, but nobody can manage that roster to greatness.
  20. It shouldn't end because Pods remains a productive major league hitter. I enjoy watching him bat.
  21. The guy has 18 Ks and two walks? My god. He's reborn again.
  22. Amen, Jordan. That is what I was trying to say in my post above yours. I'm going insane because no manager can win on this board with all the second guessing. Now we're using Thornton too much?? Every game people are calling for Thornton, Thornton, Thornton. Geez. I'm assuming this is why Rongey has been nowhere to be found.
  23. 1.) Guys don't pitch complete games when they give up four runs. Gotta use the pen. 2.) Got to use the guys on the roster. 3.) I coulda sworn every game thread people are SCREAMING for Thornton every f***ing game. Now here you say don't use him all the time? I'm goin crazy. Damned if you do and damned if you don't if you are the manager of this team. My god.
