  1. Yeah but he's Brian Anderson. A total nobody. No network would hire him.
  2. Why is Jones our starting centerfielder? I thought Rios could get to everything out there and Jones is pudgy.
  3. Brian was born too late. Lots of good fielding/little hit outfielders played in the 60s. Like Ken Berry.
  4. I love his optimism, but a hater would be able to provide a convincing argument whiy we could suck. Such is the beauty of baseball.
  5. I wonder if Anderson has to rework his contract. He's making too much money to be starting from scratch.
  6. Ah, rock solid starting pitching, the relief work of Thornton and Jenks, plus the godly hitting of CQ, Beckham and Lexi, will lead us to the WS title. Solid contributions from everybody else. That would be awesome.
  7. That would be a good way for celebrities to get free stuff. If he likes to eat at certain Chicago restaurant or says he's going to grab a drink there, you'd think it'd be good free advertising.
  8. Freddy does need to suck it up and just pitch like he can and we won't have to discuss this stuff.
  9. I hope Peavy's intensity doesn't make Oz switch his strategy of when to remove him from games. Not that I trust Oz's feel all the time, but if Coop and Oz think he's done or over a certain pitch count, he's gotta agree with it or his arm might fall off. I think he will cooperate, unlike the Cubs' train wreck Zambrano. But some of these ultra intense pitchers want the ball and don't want to give it up. I do trust Coop.
  10. Wow that is intense. Have you ever had the dream you were a member of the Sox and you were in the clubhouse and you couldn't find your pants or mitt, so the dream prevented you from taking the field? Or the one you are playing for the Blackhawks but you can't find your skates? So you can't play and you can hear the fans in the background, so you know you are missing the big game? Ah the brain punishes us sports fans sometimes.
  11. That's funny he cussed you out after the show about Wise. That was a great moment when you said things happen when you've had a few beers at the game.
  12. We have to keep them out of the playoffs because one wouldn't think our division would supply the wildcard team this year. I hope Kenny has built a team to win its divisional games because we need to own the Indians, Royals and Tigers this year.
  13. Seems like Jake has a closer's mentality. He wants the ball.
  14. To be fair about the foul language, didn't Ranger only say "ass." I didn't hear any real cuss words. I didn't realize the Kotsay thing was a big deal anyplace but Soxtalk. Has it been on the talk shows? It seemed like him batting third was a true controversy.
  15. Very true. And you guys did a nice job as well. The exchange about booing Wise was funny.
  16. I listened to it and enjoyed it. Rongey is the voice of reason. And driving home from work every night I enjoy listening to Les Grobstein (sp) another Score voice of reason. Question to Ranger: Why does Grobstein have a talk show til 1 a.m., then have to wait until 5 a.m. to continue for one final hour. Ouch. Makes no sense unless they are trying to force Les out with such weird hours. I wonder if he takes a nap for a couole hours. I know I would.
  17. Thanks for explaining all that, Matt. It is very interesting and I found it very uplifting and informative. I honestly had no clue about the things I asked you. It makes me feel good to know people step to the plate like that. It's also scary at how quick one faulty outlet can explode and take down a house in a matter of seconds. Scary.
  18. White Sox, first class. How did your house burn down? What do you do when something like that happens? Where do you go? How do the kids go to school, etc? Do people step to the plate to help big time? How do you rebuild a wardrobe in a week? Good luck to you.
  19. Good. Arguably one of the biggest keys to our team. If he can hit, he'll play every day in center I'd think, even on Sundays.
  20. Did you get my donation in the mail? I don't want a pat on the back, just to make sure Uncle Sam's mail department didn't steal the loot.
  21. OK I'll take the bait. He provided some of the key moments of the seasons in which he was with the team. He showed some life on a team often described as dead. His catch made possible one of the most glorious moments in White Sox history, in Chicago baseball history, a catch that has never been surpassed and will never be surpassed in White Sox lore (though Ken Berry and Chet Lemon had some great ones). I love Wise and hope he made a roster somewhere.
  22. I'm hoping this year is completely different. We can't have a replay of the past couple seasons. Less mediocre at best play; let's set the tone and win some series and heaven forbid sweep some series. Let's have some winning streaks of note this year, White Sox.
  23. How has Rios hit and looked this spring? Give us a thorough assessment of his performance. Why do people keep bringing up Wise? He's gone. Some of us liked him. You just want to keep digging the knife in? I'll bite my tongue and not go into a long discussion of why I like Wise.
  24. I just saw an Oz quote in Tuesday's USA Today saying "we're going to hit and run all day" or something to that effect. He really is intent on this small ball thing. This should get really interesting once we start playing for real.
  25. I'll be mighty happy if he performs. People are wrong all the time and I hope I'm wrong. I was watching the NCAA expert panel before the Kansas State-Butler game. All picked Kansas State. Butler won going away at the end. Nobody had the Final Four right or even close to being right. So I will gladly be wrong about Teahen, Rios, Omar, Pierre.
