  1. You guys of course realize we aren't going to score tomorrow, unless Thome's bat hits the ball out of the park twice and he rarely hits two bombs in a game. We are likely going to get mowed down by Zack.
  2. I would agree he needs to now bat ninth; unless Lillibridge is playing. Fields can't hit.
  3. That's the old Lexi; ball flying off his bat.
  4. Home runs are great but occasionally you have to be able to score a guy from second on a single. We can't do it.
  5. At some point you got to be able to score runners from second base on singles!
  6. He gone. Next must move is getting rid of Lillibridge. The man is overmatched at this level. And I'm in favor of sending Contreras down for a month. He is not going to win in the big leagues with his current stuff/approach. He's 0-4 for godsakes. He's got to go down.
  7. If you are right about Dye being out til June, we're done. We can't overcome the loss of Dye, not with our bench.
  8. The Lillibridge experiment has to end. He is not a big leaguer. Yet another guy who has to go. Just cut him loose. He can't hit a baseball. Are we all unanimous on this??? GET RID OF HIM.
  9. Great great win last night; tonight another stinker. The world of .500 baseball has its ups and downs.
  10. Another much hated player by the fans is gone. s***, maybe somebody will take a flier on him. Leaving the Sox apparently cured whatever was ailing Swisher during his piece of s*** season on the South Side.
  11. Maybe it would have been better for our team had Jose not come back so quickly from his injury. Maybe had he gotten lit up in the minors like he is up here we'd never have started him at all this season. I know he's had one maybe 2 good outings, but can we afford to keep throwing games away with him on the mound?
  12. Translation: Ozzie loves speed so much it is going to kill him to dump Lillibridge. Walker was in the meeting as well. Translation: "Walker work with this guy now." Bottom line: Lillibridge is fast but can't hit. Can he learn how to hit?
  13. Did Lillibridge actually get hits in spring training? I can't picture the guy actually ripping a base hit. He's 6 for 41 though he does have 8 walks. With no RBIs of course. He has scored 6 runs. Last year for the Braves he was 16 for 80 with 8 RBIs. So he's a little below his awful start of a year ago. He did get those two hits against Tampa on April 19.
  14. Man I'm hungry reading these threads. The roast beef/corned beef/pulled pork all sound awesome.
  15. That is an awesome quote. The state of pitching today.
  16. My guess is nobody wants him. He ain't worth the heartache. He sucks.
  17. I love when Jimmy hits those somewhat rare homers into left center bleachers. They happen once in a while and are pretty to see. As big as he is, I'm surprised he doesn't take the ball over the fence that way more. -- Our slumbering offense woke up in the nick of time late in today's game. Thank goodness. Nice win.
  18. Lillibridge has to go first. He can't hit the ball with any authority. Nix replaces him.
  19. Hope this thread is saved somewhere. Do they still sell that great corned beef in the same area as the roast beef? I remember corned beef sandwiches years ago.
  20. Lillibridge cannot hit. Owens cannot hit. Alexi needs to get his act together soon. AJP ain't getting any younger. Thome is what he is, he hits occasional bombs to go with strikeouts and balls hit into the shift. The other guys are OK to good. We will win when we homer; we will lose when we don't. That's not all bad if we keep getting this good starting pitching
  21. It's safe to say Brian is becoming a fan favorite on this board. Or is it still that anti-Wise sentiment turning Brian into a star in some's eyes? If Brian keeps doing well, he'll be the center fielder, don't worry about it. Ozzie is a lifelong baseball guy who is going to be in baseball the next 20 to 25 years and yet some think they know more than him.
