  1. I don't think making a statement matters much to the Sox. The team has a batch of veterans who probably remember last year's s*** pair of series vs. the Cubs. I think they've played enough games they are just games. Hopefully the weird Sox offense will compete.
  2. Wow is right. I wish I could have seen this game on TV to make up for those 2-0 losses I seem to watch every time. Kudos to everybody. What hitting! Keep it up. But poor Carlos. Hope he feels good about his three walks, which he should. But still no hits from the slumping sensation.
  3. I don't know bout that rangercal. It seems this year there's reason to have some concern about those hitters you mentioned. I don't think anybody's panicking. Those guys haven't produced for the most part. Dye's been pretty decent. I realize Swisher gets on base some, but his lack of hits has been disturbing. Thome and Konerko have been pretty lousy. Notice nobody's complaining about Carlos and AJP and Crede. Some of the big bats have sucked, hence the concern.
  4. Detroit finally got beat. Good job Giants ... for once.
  5. How bout Fields at second base and Alexei in center? Swish at first. Or just put Fields at first and see how bad he is over there? It doesn't take a star to play first, just ask Mark Teahan.
  6. The Sox are in first place, which is good. Many of us long time Sox fans, however, are not excited at all. My question is ... are we too demanding on this team? Should we be elated at what's going on and our postseason chances? Or are we long-time, loyal Sox fans aware when we have a special team and when we do not, and we are correct in thinking this team is the worst first-place team imaginable? This team has had some really big flops in certain series. What is the verdict?? Should we be elated with our first-place White Sox and should we shut up about our horrid offense and streakiness??
  7. If Carlos Quentin doesn't start getting two hits a night again and hitting gappers and homers, we are in deep s***. Five of six losses, lethargic play against the Rockies.
  8. True, it might be a double sweep for the Flubs. I'm impressed they dusted 2 of 3 from the Jays when the Jays kicked our ass. Even though Paulie has sucked, the absence of his bat weakens us more.
  9. We've lost five of six now, playing s***ty baseball again. I say it's Griffey time. Can he play first base?
  10. This would be a nice time to get Fields' bat in the lineup, but that can't happen because Thome is a big blob and can't play first. Any scenario in which Fields could be called up? I have a feeling we've seen the last of Paulie for a while.
  11. So true, Joe, so true. But amazingly we are 4 games in first place. Is Oz the coach of the century???? What you say is true. But we are in first.
  12. It might be wise to bring up Fields and sit Thome against most all lefties. Rest Crede once a week. It might be wise to start playing Anderson more for Swish. If Fields was a jack of all trades he could also rest Paulie. We could play him a lot, but I don't think Fields is capable of hopping around from 3B to 1B to LF. Let's face it, we go as far as our veteran hitters and veteran starting pitchers take us. The big money guys will win us or lose us a pennant. Tonight they pretty much all were s***, including AJP cause of his inability to throw the ball.
  13. Thome may "blow" but Paulie has been worse. It's a fact, jack.
  14. Didn't Paulie take some pitches in his horrid at bats? He actually walked once. But I understand what you are saying.
  15. I credit Uribe for the victory Friday night, but Oz reversed the great move by playing him again Saturday. He shoulda been on the bench. Maybe the karma would have been there for Alexei. Watching Uribe bat is not fun. Were people at the game buzzing about him playing for the second day in a row??
  16. It must have been horrible. Did anybody boo? I thought boos were in order after OC's double play ball and some of our horrible at bats in the ninth.
  17. Is it ozzieguillen13@yahoo.com? It's something like that.
  18. It was frustrating tonight that when DeLaHoser did throw a fastball to our righties, they just whiffed or fouled it off. Then they were helpless, had NO CHANCE against that crap slider or offspeed in the dirt. Why couldn't our guys hit his fastball??? Hawk claims it was in the low to mid 90s. Do we tip our caps to DeLaHoser? I realize we also couldn't hit their relievers. Why can't we hit fastballs early in the count?
  19. That throw from Masset was horrible. I've seen Paulie with some very nice scoops of s***ty throws by Joe this season. Paulie isn't that bad defensively. Offensively he deserves an F for his performance so far this season. A big fat F. Somehow we are still up by a few games in this bad division. You can't win 'em all, we'd won 9 in a row at home, but it's the WAY we lost that sucks. I'd not been as saddened had we lost 13-11. It's maddening to see our hitters when things are going south.
  20. I watched the whole game because I haven't seen a ton of games and sensed we would win 2-1. Horrible effort. I don't understand why our hitters just don't do what AJ did in his last at bat. He ripped the ball where it was pitched into left center. Thome has a few homers this year where he's ripped it the other way. But more often than not, just s***ty pop up at bats. How about OC's horrible routine DP grounder to short. I didn't get to see any games in the last home stand. You guys must have had a blast seeing us actually score runs. Swisher actually got hits that homestand and OC, too. I don't think I've seen Swish get a hit all year. I"m glad some of you respect his on base percentage. I feel like a guy has to hit .280 or better to get kudos from me. I mean the guy is hitting what? .205??? Hit the f***ing ball, Swish.
  21. I agree on the Danks kudos. Awesome job. You are right about Paulie and Thome. So sad. As far as our rivals being closer than they appear ... I think all true Sox fans realize all too well our lead is nothing. We follow the team every day and this team is too dysfunctional to dominate. Now can we outlast other s***ty teams in our division? Maybe.
  22. The amazing thing, Northside, is Carlos "carried" us for a while. Think how bad our record would be w/out his earlier efforts? Now he's struggling and nobody is picking him up.
  23. So much for people predicting easy sweeps against Colorado and Pitt. When are people going to realize no games are easy in MLB? We easily could lose this series.
  24. Please don't mention fantasy baseball on here ever again. So many dogs in our lineup tonight.
  25. That had to be the worst experience of all time for a fan at the game tonight. Except for the 2 Colorado fans there. My god. Inept.
