  1. chw2 we don't move runners over. That's not our game. We can't bunt. Anderson had a triple and didn't take it. We don't bunt. We are a classic AL team and hit home runs. If OC would have hit his we probably would have won.
  2. Not when we bash home runs or leadoff doubles. Any other time it's inept and maddening. We deserved to lose only because we had Lilly on the ropes so many times and could have broken the game open and kept them reeling after their 3 losses to the Rays.
  3. Bad day to be a Sox fan. That's the perfect Cub victory for those assholes. Two homers after they sing along with Mitch in the seventh. Beat us on a homer on a day we played unaggressive baseball and couldn't hit in the clutch. Had a chance to keep the Cubs struggling after the Rays' sweep. Now we woke em up. Avoiding a sweep would be a miracle now.
  4. So f***ing predictable. Left so many f***ing runners on base. Party like it's 100 years Cub fans. This series is OVA.
  5. He didn't swing. Party like it's been 100 years Cub fans. We woulda beat you at the Cell today.
  6. On the road, the ball kicking off wall he had to try for triple.
  7. OK Sox, swing for the fences. Hopefully one of ya can hit a HR and we might win with Bobby.
  8. Yes, second guessing is fun. If our bullpen did what it normally does and Uribe scored everybody would say we're great and Oz is a genius. Instead BECAUSE OF OUR LACK OF BEING ABLE TO GET A KEY HIT BESIDES A HR we are probably going to lose this game and everybody can take it out on Oz and be happy.
  9. We don't bunt, Bearcat. We don't hit and run. We hit home runs. That is all we do and we hit one too few today.
  10. If the Cubs lose I'll be happy. We have wasted so many scoring opportunities and had this game under control until their happy singing seventh inning bulls***. If they win, it's a game we gave away and yes we will be swept. Bank it. Hope it dont happen.
  11. You all realize if we lose today, pencil in the sweep don't you? It'd be too frustrating a loss. And it'd wake up the Flubs like we woke up Det.
  12. This is shaping up to be either an efficient victory -- just enough home runs, good defense, good pitching. Or it is shaping up as a dramatic loss late. We've had some bad at bats with two outs and men on and Cubs are within reach for late dramatics.
  13. Dumbass fans were leaning to catch that deep drive. It's simply amazing how we are only a home run hitting offense.
  14. We needed that to clear the fence. We ain't gonna knock him in unless we hit a dinger.
  15. Crede could and should put a dent in this game. Will he, though?
  16. Now's the time, Swish. Keep pummelin 'em when they are down.
  17. Can Toby play first base? I'd rather have him in the lineup than Swish tomorrow.
  18. Tough call by Ozzie. AJP is pretty emotional and probably would be pissed. I say play AJP, but it's tough to ignore those Toby stats vs. Lilly. Our lefties need to concentrate and go with the frickin pitch. If Thome plays he better not whiff 3 times. C'mon Jimmy, stay hot and hit the ball hard.
  19. True, Felix. Even if we lost all 3 that really wouldn't impact whether we win the division or not. Big bragging rights as you say. That' wild the Flubs lost all 3 to the Rays. I wonder if they'll be reeling or if those losses won't matter to them at all. It'd be nice to win Game One of this set, real nice.
  20. No I meant regular season history so the great WS series and playoff series don't count, nor all the playoff victories. I agree some of those Sept. series in our title year were probably bigger because the division lead was dwindling away. Of course the series in KC in 1969 (or was it 67) when the Sox s*** their pants was a huge series, costing the team the pennant. But in terms of a big regular season series, this has to be right up there with the biggest in history in terms of one complete series, not just a game to clinch the division or something.
  21. Sox stink against Lilly. Stats mean nothing against Lilly. (sorry had to try the reverse jinx on your post). Big series. If Danks fares well Friday, my respect for him will grow leaps and bounds. It's a great game for him to start. If we are ultimately going to make the playoffs he can grow from a game like this, cause it's on a big stage.
