  1. Three run bomb here and we probably lose.
  2. That's what happens when you pitch scared. No reason to pitch like this in his home park.
  3. He's about done. This is not a quality start.
  4. Javy is pitching scared to certain hitters.
  5. From this pregame I assume I get the Yankee game here. That sucks.
  6. I assumed I got Sox Cubs in Kansas City. Hope it's not Yankees, Mets.
  7. Wouldn't you love to see Thome have a multi homer game for once on Saturday? A three homer game would just about assure us a victory. Oh for one of those Thome games of the past. He should be so well rested.
  8. I will assume you are kiddin. Hope we get him back for Sunday night if not Sat. I love his bat.
  9. Better knock on wood when you say that. That was fun. Got a tad bit mildly concerned when Jose gave up the back to backers then the next pitch was rocketed off his arm to Crede. So impressed with Carlos hanging in there from his slump and doing better of late. Four hits is great. And impressed with Jose. He could easily have sucked again today but did well. Dye great game and Swisher ... no coincidence the success he had was a HR to left center. Go with the pitch Swish. It'd be so nice if he got red hot all of July. Hope we don't miss Alexei the next two days. We may need his bat afore it's over. Things are great when we win. Hopefully the guys will have the killer instinct and win Game Two. It really would be nice. A Cub win and its 4-1 with them being loose again on Sun. night. Good luck Sox.
  10. It's a blog. We shouldn't give it credence. I think the mods should take it of the board. Makes everybody on here look bad. It's dumb and not true.
  11. I wouldn't call it embarrassing. It was a miracle we were that far ahead. We need to start bopping home runs in every game. It's our only hope. These guys refuse to manufacture runs.
  12. Is it this simple? We homer 2 or more times we probably win. 3 homers we win. Any time we hit just one or none we got NO CHANCE.
  13. Now ain't that the truth. I guess we also could score six runs like we did in Game One. Maybe?? Please?? Hopefully?
  14. Anemic. Putrid. Only a blind optimist would think first place is ours for long. Lotsa problems with this bizarre baseball team. Winning this series tomorrow would be a positive going into the Flub series, one some posters will claim they don't care about winning for some strange reason.
  15. Twins, Tigers, Royals all looking good of late. Cleveland still Cleveland. I think it's obvious this division could go to anybody. We certainly aren't favorites anymore, not with our starting pitching a bit iffy of late and our offense simply wacky. Anything can and will happen the rest of the way but one thing is for sure. If we do win the division it won't be by a runaway margin like some were thinking a couple weeks ago. You said it all bout Swish fathom. I don't see how anybody could argue with that. We've had enough season to see the guy is an average hitter. Hope he gets hot again and proves me wrong.
  16. Only a complete optimist would belive we'll be in first place after this weekend. I haven't given up and will keep rooting and watching but my gawd, how bad we can be on given nights.
  17. What's our record against no-name lefties? What's our record against lefties? Is there hope for our team to get hot again?
  18. I bet KW would have given Hunter the money if he had a crystal ball and knew how bizarre this offense would be this year. Watching some of these games has to be torture for him. Pure torture.
  19. Every time I b**** about Swisher somebody rips me with some wild stats saying how well he's doing. Do you guys think he simply can't hit the baseball? I know he got hot that one week when he hit the 2 homers in one game and it seemed exciting, but don't you agree with me this guy just ain't the answer?? I don't dare bring up Rowand's name, but can't we get some center fielder (first baseman with Paulie out) who can hit the ball on a consistent basis??
  20. Yeah, it sure is a funny game. The Royals simply had to take the field to get an 'L' a couple weeks ago. Automatic Ls. Now they are hot and only 7 out after tonight. I think you are right about the offense being flawed. It's based solely on home runs and we hit a lot of them but when we don't hit them pencil in the L. Of course I think it's 8 times now we got zero runs. That's pathetic beyond belief the amount of nights we get completely shut down. Bye bye first place.
  21. I have to agree. What a pathetic inning. Stultz officially has emerged tonight as the best pitcher in the league again, the talk of the league tonight because of our team. Seven shutout innings for this guy so far?? Congrats Sox, you made another unproven pitcher look like a phenom tonight. Wow. Hope we can pull out the rubber game tomorrow. 2-1 would be OK obviously. 1-2 would be bad heading into Cub Series Part II
  22. I didn't see the bat, but why fly out as the leadoff hitter? Chop a single somewhere like good leadoff hitters do in a 5-0 game.
  23. Get on base, Mr. .236 hitter.
  24. Getting out of a jam like that would ignite a non-dysfunctional team. Can we get a rally going?? Or is this pitcher going to continue to resemble Sandy K? Great job minimizing the damage that inning, Sox. Can you wake up now? Or is this game ova?
  25. Everything was looking so great 2 weeks ago; Oz laughing, team loose, Swish and OC heating up. Now we truly suck again.
