If you could improve this team, how would you do it?
I don't understand some's hate of Anderson. He's contributed to some wins this year. He's not that bad.

Looks great; as always, thank you.

Indians vs. White Sox 7:11 CSN
We often suck against no name lefties. Maybe we can hit a name lefty. Like to see the guys go to the opposite field. Bend down and hit it where it is pitched. Should be interesting. Our guys have been pretty hot at home. Can we give this guy a loss or is Lee destined to win the Cy Young this year?

White Sox Winner
We gotta face 2 more lefties? My god. Great win, Sox. Way to prove me wrong, Swish.

Tigers are scary. Twins are amazing. I think Detroit is the team to beat and will probably win the division. Hope I'm wrong.

IMO it's too early to scoreboard watch. I just want us to win series after series.

Maybe Anderson will hit a bomb tonight vs. the lefty.

Crede saved the Sox ass with that diving stab of the liner the other day. And BA looks like he has potential. Anybody else think he looks like Mickey Mantle in the face?

Not really. You've seen the Sox performance vs. lefties. A lot of them get healthy vs. the Sox. That said, hope Carlos hits a couple bombs.

Hilarious. We thumped Dumpster and probably would have done the same to Lilly. The home field thing is crazy.

Sox Bullpen Best Ever?!
Joe must be loving Thornton's heater and performance of late. And Linebrink's effort yesterday. He was smokin. Best ever? I don't know. I will say one thing: If he's right we'll win the WS. Teams with the best bullpen ever are in good shape.

That's what Oz said in the Trib. How can you not love this guy? For all who blast him, they should praise his moves in this series. Great sweep, Sox. It took talent and some balls to win on Friday after the Flubs swept us in Wrigley and had nothing to lose entering this series. Then Saturday was a nice victory in a game we could have lost, but didn't. Tonight was as great as last Sunday was bad. Mark, Quentin, Anderson, Thome, et. all. I don't care what anybody says. Anderson is getting better. He contributes at times now and that wasn't the case during his first disastrous stint with the Sox. WIth Minnesota good and Detroit now playing like everybody expected, we still could fade big time. It's a marathon. But for this weekend, wow. 3-3 is prett nice after last year's 1-5 and after last weekend's horrid series. CONGRATS SOX and Oz. And KW. Good series.

Why not Wise
I can't imagine listening to talk shows in Chicago after a Sox loss. It's bad enough on here. I can't imagine a mad, passionate fan saying the stuff that sometimes looks dumb a day later when we win.

I wouldn't say Dotel has been fantastic. Maybe I haven't studied him enough.
-
Vazquez's Problem
He was maddening to watch yesterday, but we did win, so all is good.

I'm not a Swish fan, Rowand. But I said I realize he's not going anywhere, so he just has to pick it up. Are you a Dotel fan? I like the performances of Linebrink, Thornton, Boone and Jenks this year, but not Dotel.

Cubs @ Sox - Game 3, 7:05 PM, 06/29, ESPN
Thanks Brian. 1-5 really sucks. 2-4 is not really good. 3-3 would be great considering the disaster at Wrigley. Let's face it, 2-4 does suck.

I still think we need an upgrade on Swisher in cf (when Paulie comes back). We need to substitute Dotel for somebody better in bullpen. Assuming Floyd and Danks are for real, I guess the rotation is OK. We've got a lot of talent on the team, see the payroll, so they just have to play like the players they are and we'll be in the race. I realize Swish isn't going anywhere so he just has to pick it up and play well.

I know Rowand, that was like one of the homers hit in the steroid days. It jumped off his bat.

White Sox Winner
I'd agree with that sort of. It would be disappointing to not make it 3-3. But after last weekend, winning the first two was very nice. It showed some balls from our guys. The Cubs could easily have stormed into the Cell and picked up where they left off. It's not good to make a habit of losing season series to the Cubs, however. Let's face it. It is a big game for a lot of people for bragging rights and there's nothing wrong with that. The Sox need to take care of their fans tonight and get us the 3-3 season split. But we did win this series no matter what.

Cubs @ Sox - Game 3, 7:05 PM, 06/29, ESPN
It's just one game and all that. But a sweep would follow their sweep at Tampa (wasnt that their last road outing?) and would lend one to believe they are not WS locks. I know, they are really banged up. It also would make up for last weekend. It'd be great. 2-4 for the second straight year vs. the Cubs is not so great. Wasn't that the record last year? Or were we 1-5? It's just one game, but 3-3 is so much better than 2-4. It also would be great for Mark to get some positive national pub and pitch a gem. Go Mark; go Alexei; go Carlos. The old and the new. Go for the sweep!

Good stuff on Alexei. He just seems like a guy who can hit naturally. Just like Quentin. They both look like the real deal. Hope Carlos' struggles a couple weeks ago just were natural struggles every hitter has in a season. Is anybody else still waiting for Thome to get red hot and at least get to .260???

2008 White Sox Catch-All Thread
Wow, who's he kidding. Moronotti writes his column on Chicago civic baseball pride. Cmon. The guy needed to jump on the Cubs' weaknesses after the two losses like he would have had the Sox lost. What a dope. He hasn't yet figured out if the Cubs are a 100 win team this year and runaway winner, so he's waiting to start to bag on them. What a jerk.

Cubs @ Sox - Game 2 - 2:55 PM 06/28
Somebody needs to start some new threads. We bury the Sox and Oz when they lose, especially last weekend. We should be praising them for some decent ball the last 2 days.
