I can't imagine listening to talk shows in Chicago after a Sox loss. It's bad enough on here. I can't imagine a mad, passionate fan saying the stuff that sometimes looks dumb a day later when we win.
  2. I wouldn't say Dotel has been fantastic. Maybe I haven't studied him enough.
  3. He was maddening to watch yesterday, but we did win, so all is good.
  4. I'm not a Swish fan, Rowand. But I said I realize he's not going anywhere, so he just has to pick it up. Are you a Dotel fan? I like the performances of Linebrink, Thornton, Boone and Jenks this year, but not Dotel.
  5. Thanks Brian. 1-5 really sucks. 2-4 is not really good. 3-3 would be great considering the disaster at Wrigley. Let's face it, 2-4 does suck.
  6. I still think we need an upgrade on Swisher in cf (when Paulie comes back). We need to substitute Dotel for somebody better in bullpen. Assuming Floyd and Danks are for real, I guess the rotation is OK. We've got a lot of talent on the team, see the payroll, so they just have to play like the players they are and we'll be in the race. I realize Swish isn't going anywhere so he just has to pick it up and play well.
  7. I know Rowand, that was like one of the homers hit in the steroid days. It jumped off his bat.
  8. I'd agree with that sort of. It would be disappointing to not make it 3-3. But after last weekend, winning the first two was very nice. It showed some balls from our guys. The Cubs could easily have stormed into the Cell and picked up where they left off. It's not good to make a habit of losing season series to the Cubs, however. Let's face it. It is a big game for a lot of people for bragging rights and there's nothing wrong with that. The Sox need to take care of their fans tonight and get us the 3-3 season split. But we did win this series no matter what.
  9. It's just one game and all that. But a sweep would follow their sweep at Tampa (wasnt that their last road outing?) and would lend one to believe they are not WS locks. I know, they are really banged up. It also would make up for last weekend. It'd be great. 2-4 for the second straight year vs. the Cubs is not so great. Wasn't that the record last year? Or were we 1-5? It's just one game, but 3-3 is so much better than 2-4. It also would be great for Mark to get some positive national pub and pitch a gem. Go Mark; go Alexei; go Carlos. The old and the new. Go for the sweep!
  10. Good stuff on Alexei. He just seems like a guy who can hit naturally. Just like Quentin. They both look like the real deal. Hope Carlos' struggles a couple weeks ago just were natural struggles every hitter has in a season. Is anybody else still waiting for Thome to get red hot and at least get to .260???
  11. Wow, who's he kidding. Moronotti writes his column on Chicago civic baseball pride. Cmon. The guy needed to jump on the Cubs' weaknesses after the two losses like he would have had the Sox lost. What a dope. He hasn't yet figured out if the Cubs are a 100 win team this year and runaway winner, so he's waiting to start to bag on them. What a jerk.
  12. Somebody needs to start some new threads. We bury the Sox and Oz when they lose, especially last weekend. We should be praising them for some decent ball the last 2 days.
  13. Man, three would be special right now, though. To sweep them to get completely even. 3-3 is soooo much better than 2-4, it really is. I will repeat what I said yesterday (hopefully for karma) isn't it time Thome hits 3 home runs and single handedly leads us to victory? Today, wow. I ran some errands when Javy came out for the fifth out of fear but watched first through fourth and seventh innings on. I can't believe we kept them off the board after the leadoff double in ninth. Beautiful job. And Alexei and Quentin. Wow. Crede's play on that smash at third was a game-saver. Excellent dive, Joe. GREAT WIN!!!! Let's win three. p.s. Is Jay gonna bury the Cubs like he did us after EACH GAME last weekend?
  14. I can't believe what a natural hitter Alexei appears to be. Was this expected? Didn't the announcers today say he reminded them of Jeter? Man it's great watching him spray the ball all over and even whack it over the fence. And when Carlos is going well ... my god he's also fun to watch hit.
  15. See ya later. Carnage comin
  16. Vaz will come out and I'll be back in 20 mins. I aint watching the carnage. He's done.
  17. I'm a little surprised AJ and Carlos didn't break the tie against this hack of a Cub starter. Bad 2 at bats there.
  18. I aint watching the next half inning if Javy comes out. At least it's tied with both starters sucking. Anybody's game with the bullpens.
  19. I love Oz, but we better not see any more of Javy. Bad decision to play Wise today.
  20. That guy is a helluva player already.
  21. We're going to have to outslug them today.
  22. Even though he got out of the inning, I'd yank him. I'm not saying our bullpen will do better though. Cubs appear to be right on the ball today.
  23. I wonder if he's hurt. He truly sucks.
  24. 6-4 before we yank him.
  25. I guess that's why he's pitching scared. He gets it over and bam. He's meat today.
