Wow. I'll be at Game Three tomorrow. Hope I get to see the sweep. You gotta admit Oz has been doing a helluva job of late. OC, Thome, Carlos the amazing Quentin and Alexei, et. all. Wow. And Dotel. Congrats to you all who wanted him to close. -

I repeat; OC has been great lately. Dye should apologize over and over. I hated OC early; been so happy with him of late. I was wrong thinking he was a bust. DO NOT TRADE OC. Dye get ready to apologize you idiot. -

This game is so similar to last night's. Lots of intrigue. More to come. -

OC has been great lately. It'd be a shame if some teammate was giving him s*** about something. If it's Dye he should shut the f*** up. -

Ok, Dick you got me. Javy and Jose sucked the past 2 nights. They both were never going to be pulled after 2-3 innings. They are gonna go into the sixth. If they can't handle that and keep us in the game, they are worthless pieces of s***. I blame players. Some others blame managers. -

Yeah but he went five-plus. Same difference. He's never gonna get yanked in the third. Are we gonna rally and win this game? That would be amazing 2 nights in a row. -

Alexei is pretty damn amazing. What a free swinger. Is it true he has 3 walks all year? Cheers to Lexi. -

Veteran starters like Jose and Vazzy go six no matter what. Oz doesn't get anybody up. Period. The bullpen is quiet. If the veterans can't do the job, then we need to make a deal like Milwaukee did. -

OK, you would have pulled him in the third? That's insane. If he can't go five, six, then send him to the minors for rehab work. -

To all of you who wanted Vazzy out of the game. OK tell me, what inning would you have pulled him? He's a veteran and he sucked. But veteran starters in the big leagues go six no matter what. -

It's pretty simple. Ozzie demands six innings out of his veteran starters even if they suck. It's never going to change. I prefer to blame horses*** Vazzy. He's going to go six no matter what. -

It's cause AJP caught almost two games last night. The predictable "rest" thing. This is all on Javy. -
Good point kyle. I forgot temporarily about Oz's fibbing tendencies. But I still don't know what you guys have against closer by committee. Would any of you mind on a given night Thornton taking the ninth if he breezes through the previous inning as he did last night? Or even Masset if he does the same? Committee baby.
-
Why do you say Liney is done closing when Oz told the Sun Times writer that Liney is his guy? I think you could see anybody close, even Thornton if Oz has the gut feeling that night.
-
Isn't this guy another former Royal reject pitcher?

Nope. Just saying Sox need to play hard. Lotta lefties vs. Javy. I didn't say we can't win the close game again; I think it's gonna be close again. KC hasn't beaten us yet this year. -
2004 is a long time ago. I'm not against oz trotting him out there if Oz thinks he is the man on a given night. I'm saying Oz in the paper said he has a reason for going with Linebrink over Dotel. Linebrink is on the plate; Dotel isn't, he said.
-
I just read the Sun Times and Oz said he likes Linebrink because he's on the plate and Dotel isn't. I trust Oz on this one. He's going to have to go with his gut on a nightly basis and see what happens.
-
But who is assured of being a good closer on this roster? It's a crapshoot. Committee sounds good to me right now. Oz is a good manager and has a good feel for the game. People get on him for things, but the few instances he has some speed on the bases (only chance is with Wise or Alexei) he puts things in motion. I trust Oz on this one. Committee baby with Linebrink deserving one more shot.
-
Was that a rumor or did Linebrink really say "I stink" after the game? If he did, it shows some balls and it might be worth giving him the ball one more time.

Royals have some good lefty hitters in DeJesus, Gordon, Teahen, Gathright and Gload. Aviles is hot. Royals haven't beaten the Sox all season and even they have some pride, especially after last night's game, which was a heartbreaker for them. It will take another good hitting game to beat them tonight I fear. Seems like the teams that hit Bannister come out swingin. He's not bad. Should be another close game. -
Some of you guys act like Dotel is really good. He might be worth a try, but he's no Rivera. Committee sounds good to me.
-
No offense, but that's stupid. They were trying to win just like the Sox. It happened to be a good game. True Linebrink sucked, but there were a lot of potential goats on both sides in that game. Call me dumb but I'd try Linebrink again. He's getting used to being trotted out there. Or try Masset again. True he stunk, but he did get the last DP ball.
-
Maybe kyle, but the odds are so slim of us both even making the playoffs. Sox, Tigers and Twins will be in a war all season. Cubs will probably win that division going away.
