  1. Tommy, I hope you didn't think I was giving up when I left. I had to go do something before work and also wanted to change our luck! Go Sox!!
  2. Man, to get the first two guys on and get a double from Dye and only one run means the gods of baseball are against us today. I'm out. Hopefully that will bring us good luck. Sloppy s***ty baseball game by the Sox today, but I'd still take a W.
  3. Just make it happen, White Sox. Overcome a s***ty day and win!
  4. Now we need 3 straight bombs.
  5. This team needs to get some men on base for Quentin, Dye and Thome to hit a few bombs.
  6. Bullpen, just three hits (though two were homers), four errors, not excellent starting pitching equals another loss at home. This could be the Ozzie explosion day unless our hitters crush the ball the next 3 innings against a team with bad pitching.
  7. Man, 2 men on base; not good, Boone.
  8. Big big outing. If he gets bombed again, will he be another DL guy? Plus we can still win this game . He needs to hold 'em.
  9. Thanks Dick. Thanx Tommie. Seven strikeouts is good; all those runs are bad.
  10. Somebody help me out; how did Richard look? Thanks in advance.
  11. Detroiit is right where it wants to be. The Tigers didn't bury themselves completely early, now they are letting their high paid talent roll. Hopefully their pitching is still a question mark and we can hang in the race with them and Minnie. We didn't let them back in. We are not the 1912 Yankees; we are what we are (I hate sayings like it is what it is).
  12. So Richard strikes out seven, but gives up seven hits in just a 4 inning stint. That's a 9.00 era for today. Are we excited about his potential, or was he awful? I didn't see it. He obviously didn't have the kind of start he would have had against the White Sox, who rarely hit guys nobody has ever heard of.
  13. I hope he proves you wrong too 'cause we need to win the rubber game of this series.
  14. Good post on Paulie. I know one thing: If we are gonna beat Detroit and Minnie next week, it would help if he becomes the old Paulie. If he would get hot, it'd really help our team since Oz and KW are sticking with him. I don't know why Brian would rip on Paulie in that post. The return of that other post is perilously close to happening.
  15. Good luck Clayton. Show something and you might stick. We do need pitching help.
  16. I hope he's capable of beating the Rangers today. We need it!
  17. Dye is such a stud most of the time. Man, great hitting. Mark comes through when we need it. Can you believe Detroit is only 5.5 out?? Wow. There's going to be some amazing baseball coming up on our next road trip. Hope we come to play every night. Paulie may blow ... but he sure could help us out as a veteran power bat if he finally starts hitting on that road trip. This could be a wild 3 team race the rest of the way. Hope we're up to it. Detroit has totally kicked the s*** out of a KC team we were 3-3 with recently. Please win the rubber game vs. Tex, White Sox. Losing 4 of 6 on the homestand could put us in a somber mood heading into Death Row.
  18. Isn't our victory recipe always the same? We need to hit home runs tonight, need to get a "quality start" and the bullpen has to pitch as it did earlier in the season. If we don't hit dingers, don't we usually lose?
  19. Yes I was wondering if he oould be wild. Tall guys often can't find the strike zone. I'm hoping his minor league numbers as far as walks hold up. I want him to succeed.
  20. If Mendoza shuts us down completely again, we are officially the weirdest team in baseball. Look at his line in his last few starts.
  21. We always talk about Kemp. Are the Dodgers willing to trade that guy?
  22. Great point about OC. I was thinking recently when we were winning that he was a pretty good leadoff hitter. In the games in KC, I think he walked to lead off the first two games. I didn't realize he was in such an oh-fer.
  23. This may sound dumb and reek of panic just cause we've lost 3 in a row, but I think this year KW should make some moves right now. The team did a good job the first half in staying in the race, but don't you all just have a gut feeling (with the staff struggling of late and the offense still Jeckyll-Hyde) that this is the year KW ought to make a splash? If Paulie was playing like the old Paulie and our bullpen as rock solid as it was the first half, I might not have written this post. Maybe we are good enough to win it without a trade. Some of you guys/girls are pretty damn smart about baseball, and I'll respect your opinion on the matter. I just feel as of today, KW ought to do something this year. I realize only certain teams would deal with us since we are contenders. Other GMs do stuff this time of year. He's been on a roll with some great moves, shouldn't he make 2 more to help us make the playoffs??
  24. We need to do what the Royals did vs. us. Drop the opener and win the next two. A 2-4, 1-5 homestand is no way to start the second half. I know you gotta take 'em one at a time but this is no way to go into Detroit and Minnesota. Who'd have thunk it. We usually are a great home team.
  25. Man, the bullpen has been bad of late. Boone Logan is the latest arsonist. Sucks we got just one run tonight at home. The Royals rode their momentum from beating us 2 of 3 to trail at one point 19-0 tonight to Detroit. I can't believe we're already 1-3 since the break with all the games at home. That sucks.
