Why Do You Love Baseball
Playing small time college ball is still going a lot farther in the sport than most of us did. I didn't survive cuts at Brother Rice when to my chagrin they had tryouts by position. There were about 50 guys lined up at third base on my tryout day. I made it past one cut then in tryout number two booted a ball or two, threw one away and fouled off too many pitches instead of putting them in play. I was done. I bet your dad loved the fact you obviously played h.s. ball through small college. Good stuff.

Konerko BAD - Fire GOOD
It's easy to understand your frustration with Paulie. But you have to think before you say stupid stuff. He's been great as a White Sox. It's ridiculous to slam Paulie the way you did. And obviously I exaggerated saying booing paulie would be worst moment in Sox history. It would be a disgrace, however, and show everything that's wrong with modern fans and sports. What have you done for me lately, Paulie? It would be an utter disgrace and if the fans booed him should be ripped from coast to coast.

The Contreras Conundrum
I also hope Jose snaps out of his rut. But as of right now ... is anybody looking forward to Jose's next outing? His recent outings have been so ugly.

Odds of Buehrle Going to the Hall?
I can't see many modern pitchers making the Hall. Look at all the sudden flameouts after dominant starts to careers. Is Zito going to lose 20 games this year?

How much should we worry about Joe Crede?
You got your wish. A lot of all stars didn't deserve to be there. Joe is a class act; I'm glad he was there. I heard his postgame interview. Class act.

2008 White Sox Catch-All Thread
Just curious if anybody agrees with me or saw this as I did. On the ground rule double tonight in the All-Star game, it looked like the fan actually went out of his way to not interfere with the ball in play, diving out of the way and pulling his hands back as the ball indeed kicked into the stands for the groundrule double anyhow. I commend that fan. You do not see that often. Fans are always trying to grab the ball even if it's in play. Has anybody else ever seen a fan make sure he doesn't interfere?

After yesterdays game
If he made comments ripping Oz, and the fact they have beaten us pretty consistently in Arlington, why not hit their leadoff hitter? I didn't mean the head. Hit him in the flesh part of the arm or butt.

Rumor: Sox Interested in Daniel Cabrera
They sort of are contending, Jackie. They are only 8 out in the loss column. Not exactly contending, but if they got red hot, they certainly aren't out of it yet.

Favorite Moments of First Half
I'll add the double play ball by Grudz to OC to put a shocking end to that wild 13 inning game in KC. I add it cause I was there standing up like the other 8,000 fans still there and amazed we were gonna win the game as the ball rolled right to OC. It's not as good as yours, but it made me happy. The sweep at The Cell vs. the Cubs was really great. I thought the team showed a lot of balls being able to win all 3 after losing all 3 in Wrigley. I felt the Cubs would win on Sunday and we'd be 2-4 against 'em. I thought it was a great series even though Flub fans claim we beat their s***tier pitchers.

After yesterdays game
The Konerko hate is so disappointing. We know Konerko haters ... you want him gone. And if for some reason he gets hot you haters will just be all happy and forget the venom you spouted. A lot of us were pissed at Thome. He's been pretty hot of late. So everybody's happy and has already forgotten how they bagged on Thome. I doubted Thome; I admit it. But I didn't bury him. Why bury Paulie? How do you know he's not going to rebound??

After yesterdays game
Krush there's two sides to every story. Hopefully the media will ask Oz his side. Texas has beat the piss out of the Sox in Arlington for a while now. The Sox should bean the leadoff hitter in the series in The Cell.

How much should we worry about Joe Crede?
There used to be a time fans were proud of their all stars. Now in the Internet/talk show era many fans only are currently jazzed about one of our two all stars. Sad there's so much Crede hate.

Konerko BAD - Fire GOOD
OM gosh. I won't look up how many dingers he's hit. How many great moments he's provided.

How much should we worry about Joe Crede?
That is from Rick Morrissey's column in the Trib. He says Sox should resign Joe and his agent is talking nice about the Sox as well. Say what you want, but there is a lot of "infatuation with the next new thing" regarding sports today. Joe is a good player and should remain a Sox as he currently wants to do.

Sox Interested in Duchscherer
Goodbye Broadway and Fields and Danny. Could be risky with Joe being a free agent.

Why Do You Love Baseball
I don't know, but when I went to the Sox-Royals game last week and sat down in Row 12 30 minutes before the game with my food and drink in hand, the first words I said to my friend who went with me, were, 'I love baseball.'

Rumor: Sox Interested in Daniel Cabrera
That might be a good arm to add, but at what cost? If Lexi is moving to short next year, we may need Danny. How many years is OC under contract?

Loss thread, 1.5 games up at the all star break
We know many hate Paulie; isn't it a broken record? There should just be a code word that suffices for those who want to blast Paulie. Rush Limbaugh has "dittos" Why not write "Pauliesucks" and then just move on to a new idea. Is there any more to say? People want him released, benched, sent down, most feel he won't be traded cause of the clause. Aren't Paulie posts pretty redundant? We know many despise him. So just write Pauliesucks from now on and we'll get the drift. Those of us who like Paulie can put Pauliewillrebound and you'll get the drift.

Rotating Konerko and Thome in the 2nd half...
I don't know. Some of those recent wins have been really exciting. It seems losses this year on the board have been harder for people to stomach. Some of the road losses have been frustrating/ugly. Lots of venom for Oz, Walker, Thome (before this streak), Paulie, Crede, Javy, Jose, Wise, BA. Only people to escape the anger of fans after losses pretty much have been Carlos, OC, AJP, Dye, Lexi, Danks, Floyd, the middle relievers and Bobby.
-
Konerko BAD - Fire GOOD
Yes it does. Booing Paulie would be the lowest moment in Sox history after all he's done for the franchise. I would hope our fans would not do that. I'm saying judging from the hate on here he probably will be booed and that would be bulls***. Yes that would matter.

The Contreras Conundrum
Somebody needs to do an inquiry and find out how old Jose really is. If the guy is 48 he needs to be released.

2008 White Sox Catch-All Thread
I think my comments were not outlandish. Does anybody out there think the Cubs will not cruise?? As much as I love the Sox, this team is highly dysfunctional and no, I do not think we'll cruise. I think Detroit will be right there as well as Minnie. I hope we roll, but I don't see anything wrong with my analysis. The Brewers and Cards do not have what it takes. Also the Cubs picked up Harden. Sabathia is not god. That's pretty much a wash there, as long as harden stays healthy. And I do not like the Cubs.

How much should we worry about Joe Crede?
If Oz thinks Swish at first and BA/Wise platoon is better for the team, then why not trade Paulie to the Mets? I love Paulie but if it is time to run him out of town, why don't we make some kind of deal? Other teams make deals during the season. I prefer keeping Paulie but it is going to grow old seeing all the rips of the Sox legend the second half of the season. He's been so good in a Sox uniform I'd think he'd be exempt from such harsh criticism.
-
The Contreras Conundrum
Jose really looks like a long middle reliever in blowouts right now. Man he looks bad. I saw that game in KC and he was hopeless. Oz and KW should take a few days off then meet and figure out how they want to attack the roster to start the second half.

Loss thread, 1.5 games up at the all star break
Can you believe so many guys in our lineup had incredible stat lines offensively and we lost? Not a good sign. We need to play much better on the road the second half to make the playoffs IMO.
