  1. I don't think they have the team to do much of anything, but statistically speaking they are far from dead.
  2. I'm glad you are looking forward to a White Sox failing. Good for you. I'm not saying he'll break the slump. He very well may continue to suck. But I would not boo him if I was at a game even if he whiffed four times, which he probably will do again. He has earned a free pass from me on the boo front. Not you. Good for you.
  3. Did you read the entire thread? I'm not going to repost all Paul's accomplishments that somebody else put on here. Yes he should be immune from booing. My god.
  4. That's simply stupid. It just is. If more than a couple White Sox fans agree with that, I would be stunned. Why would you boo him unmercifully???? He's Paul Konerko, one of the heroes in White Sox lore. Stupid. You should boo Oz for playing him if he's hitting sub .200 in September, not Paulie. Dumb. Do any of you on the boo him side have kids? Do you teach them to cheer players at the World Series victory parade, then when times are tough boo said player a couple seasons later? This is Konerko we're talking about, not Juan Uribe.
  5. I didn't take it as an attack on his character. By thinking it was a slam I was defending him and in defending him I brought up his character. Sorry for misinterpreting the original post.
  6. I said does not understand White Sox tradition, meaning Paulie's place in White Sox lore. Any by the way if anybody would have booed Jordan for playing s***ty as you say they also would be insane. If you think it's OK to boo Paulie then we agree to disagree. I stand by all my posts.
  7. I didn't consult my baseball encyclopedia. My bad. I did not mean to the head. I meant hitting him with the ball however.
  8. I was at a Royals game where they simply did not eject a guy for doing just that. Must be different rules in KC.
  9. I stand by my statement. Any true White Sox fan that boos Paulie is a jackass. He is somebody with no clue about PERSPECTIVE. I'd love to hear some more takes on this. I will never change my mind about this one. Be a tough guy and boo Paulie; by doing so you have proven you know nothing about White Sox tradition.
  10. Bulls***. It would be very significant. Booing Paul Konerko would show that the fan booing him is a no-knowledge jackass. Booing him for lack of performance? Bulls***. Any fan that boos him in Chicago is a buffoon. As far as my statement, gee sorry. I should have said it would be ONE of the lowest moments in Sox history. And it would. I repeat: There is a lot of significance in Paul Konerko getting booed.
  11. I don't know if they kick people out when they grab balls that are close to them. This was in the outfield nowhere near the outfielder's glove. The guy simply dove out of the way as the ball kicked up high. Had he grabbed it, I seriously doubt he'd have been ejected.
  12. I took this as a slam on Joe. If it wasn't one then I'm mistaken. I commented that he was a class act, that's all.
  13. Playing small time college ball is still going a lot farther in the sport than most of us did. I didn't survive cuts at Brother Rice when to my chagrin they had tryouts by position. There were about 50 guys lined up at third base on my tryout day. I made it past one cut then in tryout number two booted a ball or two, threw one away and fouled off too many pitches instead of putting them in play. I was done. I bet your dad loved the fact you obviously played h.s. ball through small college. Good stuff.
  14. It's easy to understand your frustration with Paulie. But you have to think before you say stupid stuff. He's been great as a White Sox. It's ridiculous to slam Paulie the way you did. And obviously I exaggerated saying booing paulie would be worst moment in Sox history. It would be a disgrace, however, and show everything that's wrong with modern fans and sports. What have you done for me lately, Paulie? It would be an utter disgrace and if the fans booed him should be ripped from coast to coast.
  15. I also hope Jose snaps out of his rut. But as of right now ... is anybody looking forward to Jose's next outing? His recent outings have been so ugly.
  16. I can't see many modern pitchers making the Hall. Look at all the sudden flameouts after dominant starts to careers. Is Zito going to lose 20 games this year?
  17. You got your wish. A lot of all stars didn't deserve to be there. Joe is a class act; I'm glad he was there. I heard his postgame interview. Class act.
  18. Just curious if anybody agrees with me or saw this as I did. On the ground rule double tonight in the All-Star game, it looked like the fan actually went out of his way to not interfere with the ball in play, diving out of the way and pulling his hands back as the ball indeed kicked into the stands for the groundrule double anyhow. I commend that fan. You do not see that often. Fans are always trying to grab the ball even if it's in play. Has anybody else ever seen a fan make sure he doesn't interfere?
  19. If he made comments ripping Oz, and the fact they have beaten us pretty consistently in Arlington, why not hit their leadoff hitter? I didn't mean the head. Hit him in the flesh part of the arm or butt.
  20. They sort of are contending, Jackie. They are only 8 out in the loss column. Not exactly contending, but if they got red hot, they certainly aren't out of it yet.
  21. I'll add the double play ball by Grudz to OC to put a shocking end to that wild 13 inning game in KC. I add it cause I was there standing up like the other 8,000 fans still there and amazed we were gonna win the game as the ball rolled right to OC. It's not as good as yours, but it made me happy. The sweep at The Cell vs. the Cubs was really great. I thought the team showed a lot of balls being able to win all 3 after losing all 3 in Wrigley. I felt the Cubs would win on Sunday and we'd be 2-4 against 'em. I thought it was a great series even though Flub fans claim we beat their s***tier pitchers.
  22. The Konerko hate is so disappointing. We know Konerko haters ... you want him gone. And if for some reason he gets hot you haters will just be all happy and forget the venom you spouted. A lot of us were pissed at Thome. He's been pretty hot of late. So everybody's happy and has already forgotten how they bagged on Thome. I doubted Thome; I admit it. But I didn't bury him. Why bury Paulie? How do you know he's not going to rebound??
  23. Krush there's two sides to every story. Hopefully the media will ask Oz his side. Texas has beat the piss out of the Sox in Arlington for a while now. The Sox should bean the leadoff hitter in the series in The Cell.
  24. There used to be a time fans were proud of their all stars. Now in the Internet/talk show era many fans only are currently jazzed about one of our two all stars. Sad there's so much Crede hate.
  25. OM gosh. I won't look up how many dingers he's hit. How many great moments he's provided.
