Congratulations to the Tigers
The Tigers are last year's White Sox revisited. Give em the trophy now. And please Tigers, be tired and underachieve next year as we did this season.

new weeknight start time
Keep dumping money into the stadium; make it look better and better. This is a non story. Who cares?

Brian Anderson
Is Brian Anderson the next Jeremy Reed? Just wondering. What makes Brian a better prospect than Reed?

A-Rod, what's the asking price
Taken off the AP wire tonight. You still want A-Rod?? He is a loser. Paid too much. Give me a hard worker anyday. The Hackensack Record They talk about pinstripe tradition, but the roster is plagued by petty rivalries and jealousies that act as a cancer in the postseason. Derek Jeter can’t stand Alex Rodriguez and refuses to come to his defense. Mike Mussina doesn’t like A-Rod, either, although, come to think of it, the Stanford grad hasn’t much use for any of his teammates. No one talks to Johnson. Everyone thinks Carl Pavano is a joke. The Yankees’ best pitcher, Chien-Ming Wang, is isolated by his limited knowledge of English. On and on, the list of dysfunctions keeps going. Instead of a dynasty, the Yankees have become a newer version of the Braves — consistently outplayed by younger, hungrier teams such as the Diamondbacks (2001), the Angels (2002 and 2004), the Marlins (2003) and now the Tigers. Steinbrenner has only two choices now: He can fire Torre or trade A-Rod. They’re the ones who must answer to the Yankees’ consistent underachievement. By all accounts, The Boss already has decided it’s Torre who’ll go, ready to replace him with Lou Piniella

A-Rod, what's the asking price
Why would so many of you want this guy? He defines losing. He batted eighth the other day. It turned into the sideshow. Why did he bat him eighth? Cause Torre is sick of him, just like Oz was sick of lightbat Brian Anderson. Leave ARod to rot in NY. As long as he is there we won't have to worry about NY winning it. Keep Crede should be our rallying cry. Just say no to AROD and keep Joe.

Sox "Tired" excused from last yr's postseason
It probably is too simplistic a story for the Chicago papers to write about, but maybe whitesox.com's writer could do a story on what exactly is the schedule for our "tired" pitchers this offseason. Do they simply do nothing throwing wise from now until January? Do they throw a little bit? Admittedly I have no clue what guys do right after the season til spring training nears. Do they completely shut it down??? Will Mark B even pick up a ball for the next 3 months?? Man ... there will be no tired excuse next year. Our boys have a lot of time to think about how much they underachieved this season.

A-Rod, what's the asking price
If they hire Piniella, no way they deal A-Rod. If Torre stays, I bet he's dealt. I don't want A-Rod on the Sox. He will be a major cancer. Why do you think he's booed at Yankee Stadium and the Rangers were horrible with the guy?? He makes too much cash. He belongs in NY with the Yankees with that salary.

A-Rod, what's the asking price
How can anyone be wrong who has an opinion about baseball? Do we need go get out our resumes? Yes I played the game. Yes I follow the White Sox closely and have for a long time.

A-Rod, what's the asking price
Sometimes you guys astound me. You act like a simple post on the message board is something I'm 100 percent behind. I thought these places were for fun discussion of topics rather than everybody agreeing with each other. Maybe I want your opinion on whether Moyer or Redman would be a good idea. Maybe I've seen the spark Guiel shows in KC and WONDER if we should take him instead of somebody like Mack. And throw out there what if we got Bonds and Griffey? I'm sure I'll tire of this before too long and you'll have one less guy to throw out some unpopular ideas. --and getting my opinion from ESPN, not really. But I follow the media and the papers and I'm sure they do influence opinion and at least help shape it. But like anybody else I hear something and agree or disagree with it. p.s. Don't discount the money issue with the "pansies" as you called them. Nowadays money is very important to how these guys view each other I bet. True since Jeter gets almost as much, maybe that's a bit different.

A-Rod, what's the asking price
The one bright spot is if we get Arod he will continue to want to prove he can win a ring. Can Uribe play third? I'd rather have Arod at ss than Uribe.
-
A-Rod, what's the asking price
Maybe you are right. I hope so; cause I think we really could get him. But we'll have to give up Crede and I do love Joe.
-
What should the 2007 White Sox be?
Regardless, Uribe is a talent who should take instruction and become the hitter he can be.

A-Rod, what's the asking price
15 mill; my gawd. Give me a break. Spend it elsewhere.

A-Rod, what's the asking price
Rowand ... he makes so much more money than any of his peers thus he in the clubhouse IS A CANCER What is so hard to understand about that? We don't need him or want him. His contract is a joke; I don't care who pays it. He is an aberration and would ruin the White Sox.
-
A-Rod, what's the asking price
Again, ARod makes way too much money. Don't you guys ever see the intangibles are important? did you read Gonzalez's Q and A in the Trib where he said unnamed sources in the clubhouse told him Rowand WAS missed big time?? You don't want A Rod to ruin the team. He makes WAY TOO MUCH MORE than the other Sox. It is unhealthy in this day and age. Say No to A-Rod. Please. As far as Thome, he doesn't make the jack ARod does. Let NY be stuck with ARod. My gawd sometimes people amaze me.
-
A-Rod, what's the asking price
Yankee fans hate A-Rod. Ranger fans hate A-Rod. Why would we want him to ruin our team as well? Makes no sense. He makes way too much more than any current White Sox and as such will be a major distraction. Let him rot in New York please.
-
Congratulations to the Tigers
Tigers are looking very good. Congrats to their fans. The Tigers are for real. I hope they win it all so next year they will be the weary underachievers like we were in trying to defend this year.
-
A-Rod, what's the asking price
Why would anybody in their right mind want A-Rod. He defines LOSING. He makes way too much money. There is jealousy in the clubhouse and his teams cannot get it done. Pass on that guy please.

2006 White Sox Catch-All Thread
Whatever happened to that guy, Jim, who used to post on here. Did some of the calmer, more reasonable posters leave town?

Out of our 6 starters...
Wow another person brought up Redman. It just might happen. GO SOX.
-
Retire the Hawk-isms!
Good stuff, The Critic. I agree 100 percent. Everything else is fine. You hit the nail right on the head (my cliche of the day).

Leading off for the 2007 white sox will be....
I really hope Ken/Oz realize that "tinkering" with the team does mean getting rid of Pods. He stole 40 bases. How many times did he get caught? It had to be at least 20 didn't it? Bye bye Pods.

Out of our 6 starters...
We need to start at least two lefties. Please Kenny make it happen.

Brian Anderson
Southside I love your posts; don't do this to me. You know damn well I did not call for Redman and Guiel. I tried to ask a question as to what you all thought of them and would it be wise to get them. I value hearing other opinions and living in KC I saw Redman get 11 of KC's 50 wins. Guiel I always liked his spunk. I didn't say we must sign them; you know that. I love Crede. I said I hope BA makes it; I just think the fact he was so horrible so horrible early made Oz not want to see his fricking face in the lineup. Brian if he wants to be a big leaguer has to hit .250 minimum the first six weeks not .150. I am hoping Brian is the same as Crede; eventually becomes a good hitter. I am saying I completely understand why Oz soured on BA and got him only 350 at bats. BA SUCKED at the plate early; just sucked. I am no know it all; I asked if you thought getting an older lefty like Redman (Kenny R) might be a good idea. If we keep BA as our cf I will not be mad; I love his defense. I'm just saying this year even though he's young he DID NOT DESERVE more play than he got. He just didn't. AS FAR as this comment: Podsednik was awful both offensively and defensively can you give me one good reason why he got 500 ABs? Yes. Scott P. unlike BA has history on his side. Oz knew from the previous season the guy was a catalyst who if he got his s*** together could again lead us to greatness. Scott P. has a history; the probability of his getting his s*** together existed. Also Scott P as bad as he was, was never below the mendoza line if I remember correctly. BA simply was an automatic out the first 2 months or so. Our manager didn't want him out there any more. And yes, I'm in favor of dumping Pods now. I'd take Lee over Pods in a minute now. Oh and by the way if you are still reading; I grew up on the Southside. Attended Brother Rice. Still can't believe the score of last Friday's St. Rita game. wow.

Out of our 6 starters...
Get rid of Vas; cut our losses. Keep Freddie. That said, I would anticipate Fred gets dealt and he will be the only one dealt.
