  1. Brian Anderson is so bad it is beyond description.
  2. fathom you know very well by now you and I disagree on the importance of the coaches/managers. I blame the players. Blow up the actual pitchign staff; not the coach. No offense to the BA lovers, but is he a worse prospect now than Jeremy Reed/ Borchard? BA has 32 RBIs this season; good job, Brian. And an ofer again tonight for BA.
  3. Blow up this team's pitching staff. It is horrible. At least the Sox's implosion will make it easier to take the retooling of the team this offseason. Nobody is safe anymore.

I still want to see a logical rundown of which players "quit" and have no "heart" The only "evidence" I could see would be that game where Iguchi played like an imbecile, not running on the smash to right that should have been a triple and not scoring on a hit. And maybe Pods and his beautiful wife the way he "appears" to have lapses like putting down horrendous bunt efforts. Does "quit" mean have s***ty at bats? Just give up an at bat? I don't think many players ever try to make outs? Tell me, who quit and answer my other question ... do all teams that don't make the playoffs and/or finish 15 out have no "heart?" We had a lot of pulsating wins thisyear that show heart, only to come back the next day and get smoked because of bad pitching or middle relief. I agree we have been pathetic. I tend to believe it's like Konerko said in the paper, that the team is like it always it, it just doesn't work sometimes. After hearing this about Rowand, KW deserves what he got. If one player is so well liked and such a gamer, you don't trade that player. You make the deal happen with somebody else.
  5. Somebody on here made the best point. The most disappointing thing about this collapse is we did wait all year for Detroit to fade and when they did we played some of the worst ball imaginable. After we swept Detroit in that series in chicago in August, who would have thought we'd limp home like this. I didn't at the time. Never has a team wasted such numbers in the middle of the order. Look at thome, crede, paulie, dye numbers. My gawd. How could we not at least make playoffs? Easy. Anderson, Uribe, Mack, Pods were as bad as those four were good not to mention our unreliable pitching, starters and pen.
  6. Insane. A whole thread on Garland and not one critical comment. Finally. Everybody it seems agrees he's good. I am thinking we are going to be sorely disappointed in Brandon next year. Hope not.

You know what, I trust the Trib's Gonzalez more than Orel f***ing Hershiser. Give me a break on Orel Hershiser. Stupid f***. Gonzalez said in a Q and A the Sox didn't quit. I mean believe they quit if you want but I wouldn't trust some hoser like Orel Hershiser. I'm sure he got the scoop about all the Sox talking about offseason plans, etc. He's a dumbass.

What the hell does this mean? Please be specific. Who quit? Did Pods quit or does he simply suck right now. Did Uribe quit or did he overachieve much of last year. Did Dye and Thome quit? Did Paulie quit? Did AJ? DId the bullpen quit? No the bullpen sucked. Did the starters quit? No the starters during a long stretch sucked. Did Iguchi quit or just fall in love with the long ball? Did Anderson quit or can he not hit anything but little league pitching? Who the f*** quit? Cora was braindead, but who quit????
  9. Why are we all talking about how the Sox need rest when half the season we b****ed about Oz playing the Sunday lineup all the time??? The "tired" team thing is a sad excuse. Our starting pitching was a joke much of the season and our approach at the plate was bad ... home runs galore notwithstanding. We need to play Ozzieball even though we have never played Ozzieball since he's gotten here.

Give me a break. What good would that have done? This "heart" crap pisses me off. So do all teams that are not going to the playoffs or are 15 below .500 without heart? Geezus. Some people think it's all intangibles. We have underachieved as a team. But I take dispute to those who say they didn't try. What the f*** is "Heart" anyway? Is it hitting 4 homers in a row in the ninth like the Dodgers did the other day? Oh yea, I forgot, the Dodgers lost the next night. True the team was pathetiic again tonight. I guess most of the Sox teams throughout history had no heart because not too many have made the postseason. p.s. some of the same people who talk about heart get mad when us Rowand lovers mention the Sox missed his intangibles. So give me a break please.
  11. Next year really will be an unknown. Let's face it, after winning it all, the Sox will be looked at diffrently forever. Just one team can win it all; odds are it won't be us, again. Our starting pitching is going to have to do a better job next year. As annoying as our clutch hitting appeared to be, we did score a helluva lot of runs this year.
  12. 29-38 says so much. I wish I'd studied that record before, it truly indicates how we have not been a playoff team for weeks. We were all fooled thinking there was a glimmer.
  13. That is a damn fine observation. Something to think about. Wow.
  14. Tell us more about the scouts. What were they saying?
  15. Yea it was our season. Just like a ton of other "big" games we dropped during this horrid second half. That close up of Oz when he came out to take out Thornton told it all. We are and were a beaten team. Losing SUCKS!
  16. I would rather be sent to a deserted island with no water than watch that game again. That game was a microcosm of our second half. We stunk. They did all the little and big things to win the game. In our house. Where's that world series dvd when you need it?
  17. Maggs and Frank didn't burn us because of Oz's comments. It's just the curse of the second half of this season. Unfortunately our team didn't have the balls to repeat. Next year we'll be back at square one. Unfortunately we may regret having had this one slip away. No matter what our fans think, it's not often a team in Chicago gets in position to make the playoffs. We had a great chance this year and didn't get it done. Next year if we keep playing like this, we could be out of the race by June.
  18. Tonight's game is prime example why we failed to repeat and why the Tigers have a chance to win it all. Us: First inning man on third one out. MVP Dye, who I still happen to love, hits a grounder to third. What the f***? No RBI. Thome also makes out to end the abysmal inning. Tigers' starter, off the hook, cruises until he gives up two solo homers with Det. leading 4-0. Solo homers meant squat. Iguchi looked so proud after his in the dugout. Those jacks meant little. --Our relief work. s*** as usual. Doesn't matter who Oz brings in, no matter what some of you say, they all suck (at least the last month) with the exception of Jenks. Them: Man on first, hit and run single. They also hit two bombs, including one by Maggs. Maggs makes nice catch of liner in right. Their middle relief ... powerful pitching. Their closing ... not pretty (I'd be worried about Jones in postseason maybe) but good enough to finish off our snakebit, well-done team. Detroit played like a team tonight. Faced a tough starter in Garland and took what they could get. We flailing away and get our two solo homers and single over the rf's head. I will miss baseball this offseason but at least our team can regroup and start new next year. Next year will be different. Everybody will be held accountable since we are no longer defending champs. Even my beloved Oz will have his head on the block if we don't produce. The WC title will be long forgotten by everybody. GO SOX in 2007!
  19. Ode to the white sox: We stink.
  20. That little kid reacting to Thome's hit was cute. That would be a good way to watch a game during this frustrating month. Bring a niece, nephew or somebody and watch a kid enjoy the great game of baseball, not the horses*** result with our underachievers.
  21. At least watching this game gives me some closure. Maggs' nice catch in rf. Maggs' deep blast. The Tigers playing small ball early. Tigers' middle relief. They are better than we are and the Twins are way better. Wait til next year. p.s. Oh but we did hit two solo homers. Whoopie, way to go Sox. Iguchi looked so proud in the dugout after his solo blast. Regroup Sox, this offseason, pls regroup.
  22. This inning is a perfect example of why it doesn't matter who Oz brings in. Our relievers suck!!!!!!! Home run. Bam. Boom. We need better players folks!!!! Did you see the Tigers' middle relief tonight? It was AWESOME.
  23. I'm out. We've never won a game where I've posted in a thread. Maybe this will change our luck.
  24. I love Jermaine Dye but he can't hit a ground ball to third base with a man on third and one out in the first. Thanks for the s***ting at bat there. Game, set match.
  25. You called it. Nice job.
